Anything cool or redeemable about this or is it just personaslop?
just persona slop
>>3890732Can only speak for the first game.Art is good. OST is good, although hearing the same song 20 times in a row is ass. The combat is good on paper and for a few first fights but gets annoying quick. The fatass-hater crazy wife was good.
>>3890732It's Persona with absolutely no budget. There's literally only 1 enemy type in the game. And the dungeons are like 10 floors deep with narrow corridors so you can't even run past this same enemy copypasted everywhere. There's no world outside of the dungeons, no hubs or anything. No shops, nothing. There are like 20 party members across 2 parties but they're all very one note. The story has no nuance or build up, you start the game and someone's already in your ear saying how you're the chosen one and we're inside a fake world help us escape by beating the bad guys, 1 per chapter.Very good soundtrack though. The singer is insanely talented and has an amazing range. Just listen to the OST and skip the garbage game.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUcZNBpg2a8https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HOKiM76ViT0https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pZq5g04Ciqshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWgTsT1lU6o
>>3890732Everything about is good besides the gameplay, at least the first game. I don't know what if anything was improved in the second since I haven't played it.
How is it anything like Persona? It's a high school setting. That's it. It's not even a high school. It's a VR lobby for mal-adjusted adults to larp as high schoolers.
>>3890732>>3890744>>3891116Absolutely a disservice to compare this shit game with Persona.>>3891191OP thinks supernatural animeshit JRPG with high school setting = Persona
>>3891105based
>>3890732trash
>>3890732The combat system tries to do something unique and mix up the usual ATB combat and partially succeeds, but it's not super fun for long-term.Overall though the minute-to-minute gameplay is atrocious, the dungeon design in particular is just plain bad.The plot ranges from serviceable to actually good and being able to kill everyone in Overdose was...interesting. Not very many games have an unapologetic villain ending. The music is extremely good but it's not really calibrated to be enjoyable on repeat. In other words, it's a FuRyu game through and through. Most of them are more of an experience than good games.
>>3891191>>3891297the writer is best known for persona 1&2
>>3891626Yeah, and?Same writer = / = same type of game
>>3891760>How is it anything like Persona?Same writer
It has no dating and is not a school life sim, it's not for persona fansthe character writing is far better than nusona but it is extremely budget so while the combat is interesting there's a severe lack of enemy variety leading to early repetition
>>3891822>character writing is far better than nusona
>>3891842Yes.
>main girl is used goodsdropped
>>3891955There's no "main girl" or any romance mechanics. Kys incel.
>>3891872Ok, so that's a no then.
you can tell the writer was riding on the vtuber train
>>3891626>>3891760Iirc he was only a writing consultant. Same with that other high school game that I can't remember of the title.
>>3891955Based truth nuking dubs
>>3891955But μ is the main girl.
>>3890732People who describe things as "X"slop can't enjoy anything, so it is probably not for you.
>>3890732It had an anime adaptation that was pretty fun to watch, and it did an interesting twist with the protagonist's identity.https://youtu.be/a5hp33QFewk
>>3890732It's got unique characters and weirder concepts than Persona would do. It only kinda feels like Persona because it's written by Satomi Tadashi. I'd argue it's a lot better than the old Personas he worked on, but its good qualities don't surpass the Hashino games. It's still worth playing, and is one of Furyu's gems.Monark is their best one though. I'm ride or die for Monark.
>>3893494there is absolutely a type of game that is personaslop and it's all the games in-between main entries and clones like mind=zero
