I'm so fucking angry. I'm actually still shaking after this heated debate with my friend. I told him I finally beat a retro RPG staple that's over 40 years old and had the audacity to fucking tell me I didn't really beat the game because I played it on modern settings. I played it fair and square It was literally built into the fucking game. Yes, I played the Wizardry remake. Literally games that old are not even fucking playable. I don't have grid paper. I'm not going to type out spells. I'm not going to learn coding to learn how to play the Apple 2 version or even the DOS version because fuck that. Yeah, I know the SNES version but no automapping unless I spam that stupid spell. Don't get me started on the PS1 version absolutely ugly. Wizardry discussion thread. No gatekeeping or toxicity. They need to just make a proper remake with the entire trilogy. The Five Ordeals are stupid to not include not even as DLC. Digital Eclipse are not making a sequel.
>>3892683you didn't beat the game
>>3892683>No gatekeeping or toxicity.Fuck off, tranny. You didn't beat the game, you deserve to be mocked. Fucking tourist fag.
>>3892685>>3892689Says the fucking person who wasn't even born in that time period. Stupid fuck. Like you actually beat the Apple 2 version.
>>3892683I beat the PC-98 version of Wizardry, I thought it's a pretty cool game
>>3892683Why are you crying?Want to impress anyone? Go beat bards Tale 1, then import your party into Bards Tale 2, then import your party into Bards Tale 3. And win. I can't even do that. Shit is neigh impossible. But hey, you do it with whatever settings, no cheats, and I'll be impressed.
>>3892703>Want to impress anyone? Go beat bards Tale 1, then import your party into Bards Tale 2, then import your party into Bards Tale 3. And win.Challenge accepted. Is the remastered ok?
>>3892683I hate this game because it's the root cause of all that is wrong with japgames
>>3892714No, you are going to play the apple ii version or get mocked.
>>3892714>>3892755This. They're geat anon! You won't regret it.
>>3892690No amount of sperging will change reality. Go play the originals and report back
>>3892755>No, you are going to play the apple ii version or get mocked.Wait, why?! Please let me play the remastered man I beg of you. I cannot set all of that shit up to get it running on my Windows 11 computer.
>>3892770If I played the officially licensed product of Wizardry 1 and I beat it, I beat it. Simple as.
>>3892773Make your friend proud!
>>3892683You did not beat the game, you have no right to make discussion thread about it. Perish, faggot.
>>3892795>You did not beat the game,You guys are such fucking assholes man.
>>3892796>Friend gives great call>4chan humours whiny post and gives same great call>Calls people fucking assholes and still refuses to even consider itWhy are "no gatekeeping or toxicity" people always such reactionaries?
>>3892810>Do thing>Do thing does not count because "reasons" despite it being officialI don't know man, you fucking tell me.
>>3892683>PS1 version absolutely uglyDon't you ever disrespect Jun Suemi like that again.
>>3892813I don't get your obsession with the "officially licensed" thing. Is playing an "officially licensed" D&D crpg or watching an "officially licensed" D&D film/show the same as playing actual D&D?
You did beat it, and I'm proud of you OP.
>>3892817Not the same thing. It's the same game with slight variation.
>>3892772Just download applewin and you are set.Get the game files from asimov ftp and that's all you need.Use grid monge rif you want digital mapping.Remaster is for fags and sheep lovers.
>>3892683I remember when Wizardry 8 came out, how the Gfaqs forums were it went down. I was constantly getting into fights on it because people thought I didn't really beat the game because:>Played it in normal>Focused entirely on melee and status effect spellsThey literally gatekept the game in the way that if you didn't learn how to use attack magic, you were somehow deficient and not a true master. So because my party was two permanently berserked lizardmen fighters, a valk, a monk, a rogue and a bishop, these numbnuts called my run invalid.tl;dr: Ignore your friend. You won. Congrats.
>>3892896Is grid monger really as good as people say once you get used to it? I’ve tried getting into it a few times, but I always end up going back to excel.
>>3892902Pick whatever you like the most.
>>3892900if players need to make up rules for a game, it means it's not hard enough
>>3892683If you're really this emotional about someone telling you that you don't play a game right, you probably shouldn't be playing RPG's. You might have a better time on a hugbox website like Reddit. I hear they like playing Skyrim on easy mode there.
>>3893322Excuse me? RPG was never about challenge. It's about storytelling. Enough gatekeeping.
> I'm actually still shaking after this heated debate with my friendThis is a larp post, what next? You threw the plate of chicken tenders in a fit of rage on to the ground?
>>3893404>Not having heated arguments via Discord voice chatBruh
>>3892683It's really retarded they're not doing 2 or 3 for the remake, I can't imagine it would take too much resources
>>3893516>It's really retarded they're not doing 2 or 3 for the remake, I can't imagine it would take too much resourcesPS1 version will always be the definitive version to play the original trilogy. Digital Eclipse could just make a scenario DLC for 2 and 3 it really doesn't make sense. Obviously they're planning on milking it so whatever.Honorable mentions is the Five Ordeals. Actually I think that's the best version of Wizardry ever.
I played the SNES version of Wizardry and used the save peripheral to store backups of my characters to use after a party wipe, but I tell people I beat the game WITHOUT specifying to them that I used a workaround to cheat the system And there’s nothing any of you can do to stop me! Muahahahaha!!!
>>3892683What an odd thing to be mad about. It sounds to me you yourself feel like you didn't beat the game...Maybe you should play the original, with grid paper and everything, since it's eating you so.
You guys are are assholes i know damn well you're just throwing shit at OP
>>3892703I did the first half of that when I was 7. (Beat 1, loaded it into 2) and stalled out.I am weak. I was born weak.
>>3893833That and soft reset scumming, as well as never mentioning you did both, have always been the orthodox methods of beating the game. You played honorably.
>>3893937>You played honorably.>That and soft reset scumming>scummingNothing clicks in your tranny brain, doesn't it?
>>3892683Pretty funny when e-special olympians try to prove how hard they are through video games.>>3893833I beat the SNES wizardry, with physical graph paper, several older crawlers too and hardly even finish games anymore just slowly perfect RP playthroughs all the time till eventually I run out of game and win.Do you know what I remember from those games and all RPGs? Just spending time in the cool art and atmosphere, not some false sense of accomplishment from rearranging 1s and 0s on a piece of media that I don't even have anymore.Get money in the bank and bitches on your knob if you really want to impress someone. Better yet have some kids and impress them.>>3893321True, this is every CRPG/speed runnable video game in existence. They are toys, hobbies if we're being charitable, designed to be winnable.
>>3892772Anon im a zoomer and I can setup a fucking DOS emulator its easy as shit.
>>3894295Anon, that post was sarcasm and pretending to be that anon.
>>3892683Filtered by grid paper and DOS language that I used a 6 year old for math games. You don't deserve spinner tiles. On a similar note you should check out the wizardry gacha it's not half bad. I can't be bothered to go back and play the old games but the new one I like.
>>3892813You played the remake, not the ports. Bearing it on snes or PS1 would count. But you played the remake where the white women have dreadlocks and there's an automap? Come on man.
>>3894355>>3894356Drawing on fucking grid paper is tedious not challenging. It's a waste of time. Automapping is fine
>>3894401Fuck off, GHOSTLp. Or Elanarae, whichever of these two fags you are.
>>3894445Where's your counter argument?
>>3892683he's right, the original wizardry had complete anti-savescumming mechanics, when one of your characters die, it saves, you savescummed and used an ingame map and therefore didn't beated the game, shrimple as
>>3894458I don't argue with pidgeons like you. I shit on them.
>>3892683>poorly crafted ragebaitnigger.
