I was rewatching Cowboy Bebop and realised the four crew members would make a great RPG party, reminiscent of FF.Then I thought about Ed - what if that creature was actually just autistic instead of a savant? The idea being that they take on a 'party member' based on initial impressions only to be lumped with a useless incumberence that they have to live with (or choose to abandon) . It would give another aspect of consequence. Does any game do this? If not, make one and thank me

IIRC Torment: Tides of Numenera had a little girl who was useless for most of the game but became really powerful at the end of it but no one actually played that game long enough for it to matter.
