Should I buy this when I loved Kingmaker but didn't like WotR?
>>3894729Its crap, too shallow and boring.
>>3894729it's the best Owlcat game out of these 3 by far
>>3894762>shallowyeah there's no LGBT faggotry>boringyeah there's no Marvel quips and reddit humor
>>3894768nta but don't be a dumbass. Combat is pick your flavor of enemy doesn't get a turn, story is there's half a game missing and all you're left with is marzipan shitposting, yrlkek ragebait and the ocasional kibbles larp.
>>3894729Playing it at the moment. It’s a good game, even if there is a lot of useless fat like with any Owlcat CRPG of course. I really like the writing, devs did a fantastic job at describing life at the frontier of the imperium of mankind.
>>3894776Yeah. I'm just annoyed they frontloaded it/ran out of budget and the game is barren post cumrag.
>>3894729It's a great game, just get the Toybox mod so you can skip past the trademark Owlcat Filler Content.
>>3894767Yep, easily the best thing they've made.Still pretty bad though.
>>3894729i loved kingmaker and didn't like wrath and thought this was really good
It's their worst game
>>3894768>>3894836sounds good enough for me. How is the soundtrack?
>>3894885Pretty epic, honestly. Very appropriate for the setting, very atmospheric. I never noticed any that got old or irritating. There's no fucking flute solos, for example.
>>3894729It’s a good game, the one real downside is that it gets quite easy pretty early on, and stays that way.Story, storytelling, characters etcetera made up for it for me though. I had a lot of fun. Not beeing burdened by Paizo pozz really helps the owlcat writers.
>>3894729As someone who also liked kingmaker and didn't like wotr, RT is good, but it falls off about half way through. Hopefully the upcoming dlcs will flesh out the later acts.
>>3894729I liked all three. Rogue Trader is the least woke of them, and it's also the easiest one. The combat also differs somewhat in that Rogue Trader is more like X-com or Underrail than like Baldur's Gate. I would certainly recommend buying it.
>>3894916yes, once you figure out how to use the navigator to ball everybody up and mass nuke them it becomes straightforward on normal difficulty
>>3895063>straightforward on normal difficultyIt becomes straight forward on unfair as well. Don't think there was a single battle where an enemy gets to attack.
>>3894729Just pirate it
>>3894977Rogue Trader's combat is nothing like Underrail, though. What the fuck? It's only like X-Com in the sense that it has cover mechanics, but lots of games have cover.
>>3894767WOTR is a fantastic game, kingmaker is vile due to the encounters and kingdom mechanic, rogue trader balance is non existent and after act 3 round 2 doesn't even exist anymore
>>3895579Kingmaker is a fantastic game, WotR is vile due to the encounters and crusade mechanic.Rogue trader balance is also never really existent. You get the briefest flicker in the prologue and then abelard and argenta come online.
>>3895593Meant for>>3895584It's been decades and this shit still happens moot.
>>3895584topkek. Kingmaker is better than this marvel shit called WotR.
>>3894729way better than their pathfinder games, mostly because the setting limits their propensity for cringe and so the writing is much better (or less shit). way too easy, though, even if played blind.
>>3895579X-com re-popularized that type of gameplay, hence why it is the game being referred to as soon as another game uses turn-based combat with cover and action points.
>>3894729Dunno. The game is kinda crap tho.
>>3895615kingmaker is trash other than nok nok in the companion department too. And I'm not talking about just the builds. Can't even fucking rotate the camera. in a 3D game
>>3894729Probably not—it’s far more similar to Wrath of the Righteous in both style and overall gameplay.
>>3894729imo this game proved that autistic warhammer shit is fun to read about on a wiki, but sucks to actually play.
>>3895803>Can't even fucking rotate the camera. in a 3D game*monkeys paw curls**you get WotR chapter 4*
>>3894729only the first two chapters are goodit's more WOTR desu
>>3895848This, I gave up around the point where the elf terrorists or whatever entered the plot, just like WOTR, it's overly long, boring and shows you all it can offer on a gameplay level within the first couple hours.
>>3894729I pirated this game a couple of days ago. I had never played a Warhammer game before this and up until now, I thought that the Warhammer universe was hard sci-fi with a few impossible things like "Chaos" thrown in just to provide a cheap source of evil for the chudly player to defeat. But the game is actually just space magic. And it's totally retarded space magic at that. Why is the basement of every voidship essentially a giant torture chamber where the workers are whipped until bloody and then thrown into a giant oven? Why are there open streams of water running through a space ship and why are the workers going hungry and eating out of giant slop pots? Honestly, the whole arrangement strikes me as something dreamt up by a sexual weirdo. The guy who created the series (Rick Priestly) must be the type who enjoys English royal family drama IRL. Like someone who enjoys being a maggot whose only purpose in life is to be stepped on by his superiors. Personally, I prefer the luxury space communism of Star Trek.As for the game itself, it plays like XCOM without reaction fire; in other words, it's a shittier XCOM. There are entirely too many stats that I don't care about. The loot system is also confusing and broken. Apparently once I get enough "profit factor" from 500 guns lying around on the floor, I can buy 5 frag grenades from some robot merchant. What the hell? The only saving grace for this game is its low system requirements and 40% of the text being voice-acted.Verdict: Mogged by DOS2 in every way.
>>3895873>And it's totally retarded space magic at that. Why is the basement of every voidship essentially a giant torture chamber where the workers are whipped until bloody and then thrown into a giant oven?Delete this Holocaust denial immediately, you disgusting anti-Semitic bigot.
I want to start a run but, in classic owlcat fashion, I'm way too overwhelmed by the amount of character creation shit and how unintuitive it is. Just let me fucking roleplay
>>3896114Have you considered roleplaying a human male with a sword?
>>3896115I switched over to the temple of elemental evil release instead and it's so much more well explained, even with a wealth of options
>>3896117Pathfinder is extremely bloated and probably 3/4ths of the classes and archetypes should be removed. Honestly, anything that wasn't in the AD&D 2nd ed player's handbook should probably be removed.
>>3896119It looks like rogue trader is far more tame in bloat than their pathfinder games. I'll give it another shot when I have some focus. I just can't tell if I'm retarded and everyone is following a class guide for these games or if it's actually just overcomplicated bullshit that takes away from the game
>>3896121Are they done adding shit to it? I played the Kingmaker "enhanced edition" and then played WotR at launch, and said I was never touching another game of theirs until it was done.
>>3895873>I thought that the Warhammer universe was hard sci-fiWhy in the fuck's name would you ever think that?
>>3895848More like an inverse WotR. That game didn't get good until after the first two chapters.
>>3896121RT is actually pretty straightforward. It's not a hard game and the build autism is just about stacking synergizing bonuses upon bonuses. There is a lot of reading until you figure out what the things do thoughever.
>>3896305If I play unfair do I need to worry about/engage with build autism?
>>3896310Kind of?RT is so easy compared to kingmaker or wrath that regular unfair players limit themselves because it's entirely possible to just 1 turn every encounter. If you don't know what you're doing you'll probably get shit on for a bit but it's nothing like the pathfinder games.
>>3896297Because it stole all it's solid ideas from hard sci-fi, then GW sued the pants off everyone who tried doing what they did?
>>3896333It was principally inspired by Dune, which already had space magic, feudalism, and religious fantaticism.
>>3895584Is there anyone that really likes WotR instead of just thinking it was fine that isn't a Camellia or Aru romancer
>>3896352>It was principally inspired by DuneAnd the war in heaven from the BibleAnd Alexander the GreatAnd…
>>3896123We have at least two another companion DLC coming next year IIRC.
>>3896114Just pick whatever option is recommended for your build (green thumb up).If no recommended option are available, if characteristic double down on what your character does best, and if ability filter the ability list according to your character use case (Abelard=defensive, Cassia or Idira=warp, etc).Later on, talk to that fat snob trading NPC on your ship bridge to respec if needed (“me and my retenue need some training”).
You'll love it since all owlcate games are the same slop with a different coat of paint, just like faggots who made gothic
>>3894729Don't, it's not like kingmaker
>>3896352>Dune, which already had space magicDune has no space magic. It is a science fiction story where the human is the technology.
>>3894729You shouldn't buy it, but the reason is because owlcat is a bunch of faggots and they perv up any game they make with fag stuff.
>>3896633>wow look at all the class choices hope this game is fun>1 min into the tutorialWERE LESBIANSMaybe the pol guys are right wtf
>>3896659>Maybe the pol guys are right wtfAnevia is actually a tranny, and the orc paladin sold her fucking sword to buy tranny magic surgery for her lover but you have to dig unusually deep into late-game dialogue trees, or be familiar with the tabletop module, to know that detail.
>>3896567I enjoyed WotR and I romanced Wendu.
