Do you play any "kusoge" rpg? Why?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FfKvv-gocCM
Yes. I played BG3 because I enjoyed the initial version of the EA and thought the final game would be good. It was shit and I finished it solely out of morbid curiosity to see how bad it would get before it ended, and the sunk cost fallacy.
>>3904082someone on this board recommended me Planet Alcatraz some years ago. awful game, but the voice acting was so bad that I played past the refund limit out of morbid curiosity I also bought the sequel (how did it get one?) without realizing that there is no english translation https://youtu.be/tPk4v2Ul65M?si=N0T5TYv-zZyh7kFw
>>3904082>do Iyes>whybecause they're all that's left which is sacred in the world of unknown retro vidya
>>3904082That guy disintegrating is probably one of the best gifs of all time
>>3904082I have played a few to completion, like GB Eye of the beholder, Sudeki and Mimana Iyar chronicle
Is Avalon Code a kusoge?I think it has really interesting system with the magic book, although the combat is just basic hack-n-slash.
yeah, expedition 33
>>3904161Also I do think Lost Magic is a kusogeBut it is also a very good one with a niche you can't find anywhere else.
>>3904082>Do you play any "kusoge" rpg? Yes>Why?To see if they are as bad as they claim to be.Some cases, I don't need to play them to know they are bad. Like with Forspoken, it's the FF15 dev team using that shitty Luminous Engine, so I know it was going to suck
>>3904082owlcat games
>>3904132good post but why's the pic idea no hi when it's objectively not kusoge
>>3904517Really depends where you draw the line between kusoge and bakage I guess.
>>3904084I dropped it around transition between act 2 and act 3 when game CTD'd on forced long rest. I don't know how I sunk 40 hours into it before.
Does /vrpg/ played the Scott Cawthon pre fnaf rpgs? They are kusoges that I have some morbidy curiosity. Seams trashy but sovl.
>>3904082I'm currently playing Xenogears
>>3904161Yes it absolutely is. I beat this game like 10 years ago. Sucks because its premise is very interesting but the mechanics are some of the worst implemented in any game I've ever played.Matrix had a shit track record outside the FF remakes. Nostalgia was trash too.
>>3904082Sometimes it's good to regain some perspective if you notice you're becoming too judgemental of good games. Also sometimes a game may *look* like a mess but is actually pretty fun.I've done some Steam dumpster diving, and while yes, you can come back with a game that's as bad as it looks (白猫冒险团 White Cat Adventure Team), other times you're pleasantly surprised and find a fun game (Cacildes Adventure)
>>3904685>Cacildes AdventureThis is a kinda funny title for a brasilian because "cacildis" is a famous speak catchphrase of a famous local comedy character from a 70's to 2000, so sounds like a rpgmaker shitpost game about Mussum, what someone 100% would do as first project. maybe in the setting of this very "kuso-movie"https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pb3lYgJ7Y8s
>>3904082>Do you?no but i have in the past>why?i liked the premise of the story
>>3905171Astounding how the entire series is kusoge except 1 game which was pretty solid.
>>3905197what's the one game?
I've played all the good games already.I've played a lot of shit games from Chrono Cross to the worst game of all time Final Fantasy XV. I've even played through an entire Trails game. Some are too shit for me though. The only tolerable SaGa was Last Remnant and the only decent Xeno was Blade.Companies always love using a successful game to put out a garbage sequel as quickly and low effort as possible.
>>3905171>>3905197You both are imbeciles
>>3905171this is not a kusoge, it's just got a shitty combat system. OST, story, world design, and diving are great ideas
>>3904082I played Phantasy Star III. I was playing through them all and thought it couldn't be that bad.
>>3906820>>3905171>>3904591>>3904161>>3905204i think you guys don't know what kusoge meansa kusoge is not a game you don't like, it's a game that is poorly made/buggy/deeply unbalanced.
>>3906959>poorly made>deeply unbalancedAvalon Code still fits that criteria
>>3906959Yes, that sounds like Phantasy Star III.
