It's mid gameplay-wise, but has a comfy atmosphere. It also has a ton of untelegraphed information (like exact bonus values and INt/Wis requirements to learn spells) and a lot of ways to screw yourself over.

You either like it or you don't. If you decide to play it, look up the wiki on what stats do exactly to not screw up on chargen. Also, the ending to the trilogy is completely pointless. It resolves nothing (regardless of the final choice), implies that your efforts were in vain and leaves you unsatisfied. Some dig that, many don't.
