>>3924562You can't give a good reason why.
>>3924562Right now you're roleplaying as the tourist... lmao!!
>>3924562There's a threshold of interactivity and character flavoring a game has to pass to be called an rpg. If all you can do is progress down a linear sequence of levels then we might as well start calling super mario an rpg.

>>3924576nethack has conducts u can rp as virgin, illiterate atheist all u want and get shiny titles
>>3924576You have never played Nethack.
>>3924576>linear sequence of levelsLol
>>3924576>There's a threshold of interactivity and character flavoring a game has to pass to be called an rpg.No, there isn't. An RPG needs wargame mechanics (tldr: stats and dice) except you're playing as a unit and going on adventures. Nethack qualifies. In many ways, Roguelikes are one of the more interesting takes on Videogame RPGs. Due to the permadeath+procgen combination, it's the one RPG subgenre where savescumming doesn't completely change the dynamic from its roots.
>>3924576Disco elysium fags ruin everything as usual.
>>3922709That means it's working
>>3924576there's more interactivity with any given monster you come across in Nethack than any fallout character (for example). You sound kinda fucking ignorant on what you're talking about.
>>3927868>there's more interactivity with any given monster you come across in Nethack than any fallout character (for example). That's clearly not true
>>3922709I wasn't filtered (besides picking the easy class), but I don't have any desire to play it again anytime soon. Maybe someday I'll come back to it and try ascending a Wizard or Caveman.
How long would it take to ascend for the first time going in completely blind?
>>3929487A long time. You shouldn't be shy about using the wiki and other resources for Nethack.
>>3929487Took me years of a few runs a month to beat ADOM without spoilers. I was spoiled for Nethack so I dunno how different they are.
