RPGs where it's fun to play a thief?
Thief.
Arcanum
>>3923515Sadly probably Japanese since western games call them Rogues and make it about killing people.
>>3923515Skyrim
>>3923576Oblivion is much better in this regard
>>3923596Skyrim has more fleshed out mechanics around thieving, better items to pickpocket and steal, more jobs from the guild. But I had fun as a thief in Oblivion too.
Exiled Kingdoms
>>3923515NWN: A Dance With Rogues
>>3923607>Skyrim has more fleshed out mechanics around thievingmfw I had a sweetroll in my inventory and now it's gone
>>3923607>steal a fork>every soldier in town is sent in to hack you to piecesanother Todd exercise in bad logic
>>3923564JRPGs you usually play as some kind of special chosen one class that's a combination fighter/magic.The one I can think of where you do play as a thief, the thief part isn't fun at all. They somehow turned the stealing mechanic into an obnoxious chore.
>>3923564Japanese games make thievery too abstract. To steal you need to unlock the steal spell by equipping a particular item, and even then, stealing is something you can't do out of combat or something stupid
>>3924050Too much rape and gay sex.
>>3923564japan is too high trust to have thieves, unless maybe some chosenjin winds up in your party
Its fun to steal furniture from prostitutes in Elin, and you can actually sneak past most enemies. Be warned the playstyle is exponentially worse with party members.
>>3923515Playing as solo thief in Kenshi is the only way i enjoyed that sandbox slopmaEverything else about that game is autistic grind and cheese
Playing a thief in Kingdom Come Deliverance is pretty fun.
>>3924384No such thing
>>3924190Neither in Morrowind, Oblivion or Skyrim guards attack you for stealing.
>>3924255It's not steal when the dead doesn't drop it
>>3925316good point
>>3925268This I agree with. It's the best way to play
>>3923515Quest for Glory series>those sections where you have to repetitively train your skillsactually you know what?maybe I'm wrong
