Discuss all things Div DivHow are you supposed to kill bosses in this game? I'm lvl 30 fighting Moriendor to get the Stone Axe for the Dwarves and he's just stomping me in 2-3 hits as a warrior. I can delay my death by pausing and using health potions, but his hell spikes are ultimately just too much. I was able to kill Josephine with some pausing and being precise, but it seems like I would need to be lvl 50 or so before I would even be viable for Moriendor. I don't have a problem with that, but I understand the game soft caps around 45 just from running out of stuff to kill and quests to do. I had no problem killing the Dwarves on the way, but the boss is just in another league. Is this intended or did something just go wrong with the balancing during development? I love the world, the story, atmosphere, gameplay etc... so far but the bosses are just derailing the game.
Not strictly DivDiv related but why didn't isometric ARPGs ever take off? I'm not talking about loot progression games like Diablo, but actual RPGs with a handcrafted world, plot and quests.Apart from DD and Sacred, what even is there? Exiled Kingdoms maybe but that's a very basic and clunky phone game.
>>3923597>The stoneThat was a really funny scene. I love how much stuff there is like that in the game, like the skeletons talking about being skeletons with each other lol.I guess it depends how strictly you're using the term "isometric" but I think they were relatively popular in the late 90s and the 2000s (although the RTS gold rush was hogging a lot of PC time in that decade). I think of Diablo 1, Diablo LoD, Dungeon Siege 1 and 2, Fate, and Div Div. I played all of these in childhood, except Fate and Div Div, but I'm sure there are others as well. I'm sure with 3D graphics being big and exciting, things like Morrowind, Gothic, and emerging MMOs like Ever Quest were stealing the spot light, too. Maybe some saw isometric as being outdated at that point.
>>3923606The answer is the move of devs who make RPGs to chasing console money in the early 2000s.
>>3923597Hey don't group Diablo with Diablo 2
>>3923701Why not? They're both excellent games.
>>3923606Just remember Prince of Qin as well, but I think that was a pretty niche title. I really liked that one. It's slower than something like D2, but I might try to dig up my old retail CDs to play it once I finish Div Div

Did Divinity 2 have a mid development switch from a isometric camera to a third person one? Or were they just that shit at making a third person game?
>>3923606Suits chased 3d and made a wrong decision there, at least from an artistic perspective.
>>3923597Everything had to go 3D or it was seen as "out-dated" at the time.
>>3924718It's on gamebryo. Please understand.
>>3924123lol, none of these are action rpgs, they are all turn-based.
>>3924761And theyre all great games
>>3924932no, balrum fucking sucks.eschalon is mediocreavernum isn't as good as exile.hardly great and not at all relevant to the question.are you doing that thing where you larp as a retardbot?
>>3923597>Apart from DD and Sacred, what even is there?NoxDungeon SiegeKult: Heretic KingdomsPrince of QinLionheartInquisitorThese were somewhat popular back in the 2000's because the publishers were reluctant to greenlight turn-based games. Diablo was so big, many suits genuinely believed turn-based was "too outdated" and frantic clickers were the future lmao, how the tables have turned
I like Exiled Kingdoms
>>3923582i beat that game on hard and it can get quite ridiculous. The best way i found to get stronger is to try and obtain items with 4-5 charm slots, then go to ars magicana in rivertown or to the charm shop in verdistis. then i would quicksave before talking to them, and look at inventory. If they have silver or better vitality( the most important) or stat charm. then i would buy it, go to sleep for like a week or sumthing( might be 3 days im not sure anymore) and repeat till i was fully decked out. 400-500 extra hp per slot makes a gigantic difrence, and extra stats aren't bad either. from what i remeber there was a spell that litearly made items out of thin air so you shouldnt have any money poblems if you get that.

>>3925295>davie504No it's a cute sad alt-styled biological female that I wish I could have as a girlfriend or at least regular sexual partnerBut I see she has a "manly" face, which could be simply because of the angle, natural circumstances or, what I wish would be truth in a girl for myself that looks like that, is slightly autistic and thus we would get eachother. Man I'm lonely.
>>3925298She has a nose ring, she probably received even more anal than you did from your uncle.
>>3927615I never said she didn't, or implied I'd care
My last save file, this happened. Is there any way to fix it? I've already set up voodoo2 beforehand, tried verify integrity, tried various resolutions, ran a program that made it a 4GB RAM executable so it can use more memory, but nothing helped. When I run the older save files, it works, but the latest one doesn't.
