Which option is the most appropriate? Should one find oneself in alignment with Goodsprings, one must acknowledge the inevitable consequence of this decision: the deliberate or inadvertent execution of the Powder Gang, a morally reprehensible act. This assertion holds equally true in the event of aligning with the Powder Gang. The Goodsprings mission can be conceptualized as analogous to the trolley problem, wherein the optimal course of action is to refrain from action.
>>3924523>Which option is the most appropriate? Uninstalling New Vegas.>wherein the optimal course of action is to refrain from action.Refrain from playing New Vegas.

>>3924523>the deliberate or inadvertent execution of the Powder Gang, a morally reprehensible act.Why is that reprehensible?
>>3924523Even when I roleplayed a raider character that doesn't care for Goodsprings I often betrayed Powder Gangers, or at least I ignored ghost town gunfight quest. In other runs I help Goodsprings, because they help you a lot for free as well in early game.I usually roleplay it like this these days - do tutorial quests in Goodsprings, but not Gunfight quest, roleplay that I scout out powder garbages and their threat level, infiltrate prison, betray them in I fought the law quest and only then to Ghost town gunfight. Could use a mod that allows you to star I fought the law after killing Joe Cobb tho.
>>3924670Why would you be the judge and executioner? >>3924741They help you a lot, but that doesn't allow you to take someone else's life.
>>3924523Go Powder Gangers all the way, and you're in for some great nontent.
>>3924789Powder garbages could surrender to NCR as they are criminals, or try to just disappear, they could fairly easily do that in Vegas, since it's not under NCR direct authority, instead they rob, rape and kills and are often hostile. They get what is coming for them.
Run Goodsprings Run is an underbaked quest that doesn't make sense. Naturally the Powder Gangers wouldn't take on a whole for someone like Ringo there really ought to be an option to kidnap him and not have to assault the whole town. PG are a incomplete faction anyway outside of RGR they have one quest and thats it and no I'm not counting the Vault 19 Powder Gangers quest because I'm almost certain you get no faction rep for that. Every other faction will give you a safehouse or some type of benefit but the powder gangers give you almost nothing for getting in their good graces.
>>3924523Stopping a gang of outlaws from shooting up a town isn't morally reprehensible, it's the defense of an outpost of civilization against what are essentially barbarian marauders, something that is always morally justifiable to anyone who isn't a retard. On a personal level, though, they helped me out, so I helped them out, simple as that.
>>3924808>>3924823You're a courier and not part of the NCR. Why would you be the judge if someone needs to die or not?
>>3924948Hell of a thing, to kill a man. You take away all he’s got, and all he’s ever gonna have.
>>3924950Even in the game point of view, it doesn't make sense. You're a courier with minimum stats and skills. Why would you pick a fight with a bunch of criminals for some people you just met?
>>3924948I'd shoot you on account of being fucking annoying.>b-b-but whyBecause I have the gun.
>>3924956>Why would you pick a fight with a bunch of criminals for some people you just met?Gratitude for getting saved and the promise of payment. The best option is to walk away, anyway. Not my problem.
>>3924523>the deliberate or inadvertent execution of the Powder Gang, a morally reprehensible actNo one forced them to attack a town full of civvies. Fuck around, find out.
I don't think we need two stupid threads about the tutorial quest of NV
>>3924976>I don't think we need two stupid threads about the tutorial quest of NV*monkey’s paws curls, you get three or four instead*
Rallying a town against a gang of outlaws is a classic western trope. Very in place for a game that's basically a postapocaliptic western.>>3924976We don't need three threads that are months old about Baldur's Gate either yet here we are. This board discusses the same four games always, forever.
>>3924523>The Goodsprings mission can be conceptualized as analogous to the trolley problem, wherein the optimal course of action is to refrain from action. The trolley problem doesnt have an "optimal outcome" thats why its a problem genius.
>>3925021Because contrary to the trolley problem, if you don't do anything in Goodsprings no one does
>>3924523>GoodspringsGet/keep a reliable store in a convenient location for the early gameGet hostile powder gangers that funnel exp, dynamite, and trash to sell into your pocketsGet an extra mini dungeon of going to kill the rest of the powder gangers>Powder GangersGet an alternative solution for the Primm Sheriff (not strictly required)Get fewer encounters on the early game path around goodsprings and the prisonThat's... kinda it?I'm probably missing something.Iirc the Powder Gangers never "help" any ending turn out better, either, if you're interested in the role playing aspect. It's kinda like Megaton. You get more out of doing the good thing, and the only real benefit for doing the bad thing is variety.
>>3925021But imagine if the trolley problem, was the trolley was running into an empty railway. You have access to a lever. If you push the lever, the trolley will go to the left and run over 1 person. If you pull it, the trolley will go to the right and run over 3. If you do nothing, the trolley will run straight, run over nobody, and everyone on the trolley gets to their destination on time.
>community of white farmers trying to eek out a living>shitskin gang member drug addict slaversBethesda did not even anticipate someone as low iq as you
>>3930836The problem is why would you, a courier who was just brought back to life, would want to confront a gang of criminals because of a bunch of farmers
>>3930842Cause they nursed you back to life and in this context you would have just gotten up off your feet and trained to survive by based sunny smiles and some spic gang members try to kill her? Consider the wasteland is a harsh place and you have no memory, why wouldn’t you fight with the only people that showed you kindness?
>>3930882I'm a fucking mailman, not a super soldier, for starters. I owe them one. Maybe two, Doc DID let me loot his house without complaint. (Assuming that wasn't my house to begin with, and the good doctor isn't exploiting my memory loss)"One" does not include killing an entire gang for them. It might entail running a message to Primm or Novac or the NCR about the situation on the house. It might entail giving them preferential status on some salvage I dig up. It might even entail finding and recovering a cache of weapons so they can do it themselves.
>>3930888You sound like a UK poster the way you would let gang members into your town to rape and enslave your women.
>>3930888>>3930842Realistically the solution is to give up Ringo fuck him
