Still waiting for these retards to remove Denuvo on the shitty sequel so that I can buy it. I know they’re desperate for sales because they’ve repeatedly put it on deep discounts that I would’ve already jumped on.
>>3934959If I had the chance to fuck grigoris asshole, I would literally take it. I'd even just fuck his dragon genital slit as if it were a pussy if I could. Dragons are so fucking hot.
>>3935059It's a single-player game and you can disable the internet connectivity from an in-game menu or just unplug your ethernet if you don't know how to use a menu. And most mods don't invalidate your pawn anyway. And there's no real benefit to keeping your pawn valid, either. So there's no reason not to just use whatever mods you want... and the game doesn't actually need mods, other than to transmogrify your equipment cosmetically.
>>3935064Denuvo hate is NOT about "I want to cheat." Denuvo hate is NOT about "just pay for a better rig so you can run it, poorfag!"Denuvo hate IS about the fact that it is so fucking demanding, it lowers the lifespan of your hardware. For instance: making absolute fuckloads of calls and writes to the hard drive, which is otherwise completely unnecessary for, as you note, a singleplayer game.
>>3934959I tried to replay this game with a serious mystic knight arisen and old sorcerer man pawn but I quickly abandoned the play-through and restarted with thicc elven chics because of how many revealing armor sets there are in this game. Like holy shit there’s no way to play dragon’s dogma without realizing this game was designed for gooning.
>>3935064It’s a matter of principle. I don’t want that crap on my PC, and I’m not buying the game unless they remove it.I dunno what they’re doing, the conventional wisdom was that companies keep it on for a year to capture the peri-launch hype and early sales, then eventually take it off after the first year or so to avoid the expensive Denuvo contract fees. But it’s been more than a year, and I can tell the game has fell short of sales expectations due to how desperately they price it. I’ve also heard people speculate that they won’t remove it until after it gets a DDDA style expansion, but has the game even sold well enough to justify an expansion? What the fuck are these retards doing. I was hyped before the game came out and now I barely care.
>>3935254>It’s a matter of principle.>and I’m not buying the game unless they remove piracy protectionKek yeah right. There isn't a reason to remove it, just to get one 10 dollar sale (I promise I buy it, honest!) and more piracy.
>>3935260What a bummer it is that the 4chins userbase has degenerated to the point that the principled argument of “I refuse to put malware on my PC in order to play a vidya” is met with scorn. Every time I’ve brought this up in a thread I get some zoomer NEET going hurr you just want to pirate it durr, without fail. I think the last time I pirated a game was Doom 3. When you grow up, your time is far more precious. I can’t imagine playing a game I didn’t consider worth buying.
>>3935181Recently had this happen but in DDO instead.
>>3935266>Every time I’ve brought this up in a threadAbout virtuously not spending money on vidya. Yas queen slayyy
>>3935270It’s about wanting to play the sequel to a game I enjoyed, you stupid faggot.
>>3935271Oh man too bad you're just so - oh just too damn principled
>>3935272NTA, if you had to choose between 2 versions I could gift to you. One has Denuvo, the other doesn't. Which one would you pick and why?
>>3935273>I could gift to youCute but needless scenario>do you want drmNo, and give me a physical copy with no cd crack while you're at itSadly piracy is a big enough problem that companies feel the need for drm
>>3935279>Cute but needless scenarioIt's a hypothetical>NoWhy not?
>>3935059Don't bother, dd2 will always run like shit even without denuvo
I may want to get all the achievements for DD:DA.This includes doing the speedrun. Does finishing the speedrun also count towards finishing the game a second time and seeing yourself as the Seneschal? Does anyone know?
>>3935704I don't remember, but iirc doing a speedrun is absurdly easy because it can be your second run and you can just use ferrystones and previously set portcrystals so it's not a bit time sink either way. I haven't thought about any of this shit in a really long time though
>>3935704yes
>>3935769>>3936226Nice.
>>3934959Here’s your aught
>>3935127>>3935254Is there a way to know if the game uses Denovo? Because DD2 runs like literally any other game on my machine and I haven't noticed any kind of performance impact or interference at all. Never seen any reference to Denovo while playing or installing the game. Like. It may as well not even exist, or maybe the Steam version just doesn't involve it anyway?
>>3936937>maybe the Steam version just doesn't involve it anyway?Look at the Steam store page.
>>3936938Ok, well, why should I panic over a thing that I never knew existed and have no way to verify actually affects me in any way whatsoever?
>>3936948Because third worlders are mad they can't pirate a game
>>3935273Is there one without your boogeyman? What if I had a trillion dollars? What if a meteorite smote you where you sit, like at like five times the speed of sound?
>>3935310It's 2026, anon. Computer parts are cheap. If you don't want to build a machine that can participate in modern gaming, then that's your choice. Why are you even here? Go play your ASCII roguelikes.
>"oh cool, a DD thread!">it's 2 + denuvo shitposting>againShame.
>>3936990I liked Dragon's Dogma a lot, but there's really not much left to say about it.
>>3936990My Denuvo complaints grow in the shade of DD threads, like so many excrement children.
>>3936994The fact that 4chan threads about DD2 fizzle out because not even chantards can come up with any legitimate complaints about it ... is probably the highest praise possible in gaming right now.DD2 is a fucking masterpiece. It's just not really an RPG. It's an adventure game. For that reason, it shouldn't be discussed on this board.
>>3937055I can make a lot of complaints about DD2. They mostly amount to just not being as fun as the first one and not doing anything new that was interesting enough though. That isn't necessarily a declaration of it being overall bad, but I just can't being myself to care about it nearly as much as the first game. The only ways I think it's better aren't particularly quantifiable either, since it's basically just that big monster fights can more easily blow up into giant clusterfucks by having another one wander in, or that the exploration is more fun. I don't think it's a bad game, but I certainly wouldn't call it a masterpiece.
>>3937067I love the first game but one of the reasons I haven't bought the second, despite being excited for it, due to what I've heard about how they treated the NPC's compared to the first game.In the first pretty much every random npc's dialogue would change throughout the game and you'd really get a sense of them as a character. Made the world feel real and lived in.
>>3937143I don't know how the two compare in that respect, but nothing really grabbed my attention at least. The way the world is staged there isn't some point where you can really appreciate one being chosen as your "beloved" though. The only things that really hurt in my opinion is how little effort they put into adding vocations and it sort of running like shit in towns for a while. Maybe it still does idk, but I thought people talked about it getting slightly better over time with patches. Luckily I had a good enough PC that it was always tolerable. Oh, and everything just feeling a lot more sluggish than the first game I guess.
>>3936950>Because third worlders are mad they can't pirate a gameTell me you’re a zoomer newfag without telling me you’re a zoomer newfag.
>>3934959>aught aught aught aughtI fucking hate that game
>>3937172It’s charming. Western studios completely forgot how to make games like that, it’s all subversion and wokeslop now. Fucking Nips can make a more authentic WRPG than Westerners now.
>>3937182That remins to be seen with Crimson Desert.
>>3937240Never heard of it. What else have those devs done?
>>3937244They made Black Desert but i never played it.
Dragon dogma 1 kicked some serious ass Capcom is a underrated rpg developer between this game and dragon quarter they've made two of the better Jrpgs ever made.
>>3934959Maestro dragon

>>3934959DD2 was so bad it has ruined my three year replays of DD1
>>3938645Sure.
>>3936994>>3937055I dont like dragons dogma, so I generally stay out of dragons dogma threads (a rare philosophy on this site), however, the OPs npc line made me think of how I do like the npc dialogue in this game, and a few other things as well, so I came in to see if anybody else showed the same sentiment>I like:how you find all kinds of random mundane items, presumably for use in crafting items (never really got into it), like sticks and herbs and shithow you can wear a lantern on your belt; probably not realistic but still I like itthe npc dialogue, like when you're walking around or in combat, but like all capcom games, the story dialogue and plot are shit an autistic child would come up withcustomizing your character and pawn; always a good thingrepresentation of classic greek monsters, although they are generally too big, along with some typical fantasy monsters like goblins and european dragonshow you can target body parts, climb on enemies, grapple them so an ally can attack unimpeded; general gritty "realistic" options in combatthe blonde jew chicks big tiddieshow fucking GOOD the caves look in this game, god damn! the water gods altar and the quarry? mine? with the trolls was neat too; didnt see much else>I dislike:basically everything else, desuits a capcom game; I have disliked almost every capcom game ive ever played; the only one that slipped through was resident evil 2 somehowthe dialogue, weird fever-dream-like plot events, unrealistic behavior ("the griffin is fleeing! let's chase it on foot across the entire kindgom apparently!"), etccombat is super grindy and button-mashy, though I didnt delve into it enough to figure out the OP meta optionsits super repetitive; by the time I got to the city or went to the mistwood I was about checked outquests seem to just stop in the middle and go nowherehaving to switch out pawns every hour or so; I get attached; why cant they just level up with me?people shit on skyrim but praise this
>>3940980>having to switch out pawns every hour or so; I get attached; why cant they just level up with me?It’s janky but using a couple mods you can effectively have a custom party of three pawns that you design and level up. For the other two, keep a text file about what abilities they’ve unlocked and how many points they’ve earned and spent to keep it fair
>>3936951¿
>>3940980Not to call you out TOO hard, but a lot of the plot is complete nonsense, unless you're paying attention.>the griffin is fleeing! let's chase it on foot across the entire kindgom apparently! You, and the troupe you're placed with, were hired to SLAY the griffin, not just chase it off. Everyone who isn't a noble or a Goat realizes this is probably going to suck, and aren't happy if/when you have to chase it back to its nest to finish the job.If you don't like the plot's focus on inevitability vs. choice, or the part where it pretends to be bland and uninspired for the first 20 hours or so, yeah, things can fall flat pretty easy. But there is sense to it all.
