It's a single-player game and you can disable the internet connectivity from an in-game menu or just unplug your ethernet if you don't know how to use a menu.
And most mods don't invalidate your pawn anyway.
And there's no real benefit to keeping your pawn valid, either.
So there's no reason not to just use whatever mods you want... and the game doesn't actually need mods, other than to transmogrify your equipment cosmetically.

I dunno what they’re doing, the conventional wisdom was that companies keep it on for a year to capture the peri-launch hype and early sales, then eventually take it off after the first year or so to avoid the expensive Denuvo contract fees. But it’s been more than a year, and I can tell the game has fell short of sales expectations due to how desperately they price it. I’ve also heard people speculate that they won’t remove it until after it gets a DDDA style expansion, but has the game even sold well enough to justify an expansion? What the fuck are these retards doing. I was hyped before the game came out and now I barely care.

I don't remember, but iirc doing a speedrun is absurdly easy because it can be your second run and you can just use ferrystones and previously set portcrystals so it's not a bit time sink either way. I haven't thought about any of this shit in a really long time though

Is there a way to know if the game uses Denovo? Because DD2 runs like literally any other game on my machine and I haven't noticed any kind of performance impact or interference at all. I can make a lot of complaints about DD2. They mostly amount to just not being as fun as the first one and not doing anything new that was interesting enough though. That isn't necessarily a declaration of it being overall bad, but I just can't being myself to care about it nearly as much as the first game.
The only ways I think it's better aren't particularly quantifiable either, since it's basically just that big monster fights can more easily blow up into giant clusterfucks by having another one wander in, or that the exploration is more fun.
I don't think it's a bad game, but I certainly wouldn't call it a masterpiece.

I don't know how the two compare in that respect, but nothing really grabbed my attention at least. The way the world is staged there isn't some point where you can really appreciate one being chosen as your "beloved" though.
The only things that really hurt in my opinion is how little effort they put into adding vocations and it sort of running like shit in towns for a while. Maybe it still does idk, but I thought people talked about it getting slightly better over time with patches. Luckily I had a good enough PC that it was always tolerable. Oh, and everything just feeling a lot more sluggish than the first game I guess.

I dont like dragons dogma, so I generally stay out of dragons dogma threads (a rare philosophy on this site), however, the OPs npc line made me think of how I do like the npc dialogue in this game, and a few other things as well, so I came in to see if anybody else showed the same sentiment

It’s janky but using a couple mods you can effectively have a custom party of three pawns that you design and level up. For the other two, keep a text file about what abilities they’ve unlocked and how many points they’ve earned and spent to keep it fair

You, and the troupe you're placed with, were hired to SLAY the griffin, not just chase it off. Everyone who isn't a noble or a Goat realizes this is probably going to suck, and aren't happy if/when you have to chase it back to its nest to finish the job.

If you don't like the plot's focus on inevitability vs. choice, or the part where it pretends to be bland and uninspired for the first 20 hours or so, yeah, things can fall flat pretty easy. But there is sense to it all.

In theory it's sorcerer for 190 levels, but that would not be a very fun way to live your life. Also a lot of calculations for abilities aren't as clear cut as only using attack or magic (maybe they are for magic bow stuff though? I don't remember). Also your stamina and HP would probably be kind of shit
I don't remember exactly how hard it is to beat the damage thresholds for some of the more annoying enemies, but I would almost just be tempted to intentionally go fully magic archer just so with proper gear nothing is off the table. The downside is you wont be killing Daemon in record time or anything like that, but in a game like dragons dogma I think leaving the most options for playstyle open is way more important.
Alternatively, if you balance between strider and mystic knight instead of just going full magic archer you would have more defense instead of 2 magic defense per level, but that barely matters

Purity of purpose. It soothes my tism to level up exclusively the class I want to play. Conversely, it really breaks my immersion to grind classes I don’t want to play, even if hypothetically they have better stat growth for min maxing. You can just cheat in levels for other classes to unlock augments without playing them anyway, if you must have them.
I don’t think I could ever grind to 200 though, sounds tedious. I never did the NG+ though just once through everything

Ranger is just a great middle ground between being fun to play, getting good enough stats in both attack and magic, and also getting the most stamina (which like you said is the most important stat). If I'm going to do minmax shit in that game it's going to be for the sake of enabling the most playstyles when you're done leveling, which that does the best.
I would just play whatever you want your first time going through the game though. Missing out on the unique aspects of some classes for all that time just for some better stats is a bad trade.
