If you speed up a RPG to grind xp, you didn't beat the game.

God i hate pokemon

>Rub the Knorr stock cube on your game controller. You could use salt, but you won't get a beautiful beef perfume on your hands. Gaming is a philosophy, genres a guideline. When I worked in Michelin kitchens I would never use an emulator with fast forward. But I've returned my three stars and now I'm a casual home gamer. I'll turn up the fast forward to 10x. 100x. Grind or don't grind, its your choice. Little olive oil...

Only someone who's never played FF9 or Jade Coocoon would say that. Those combat loadings and input executions were cumbersome at best. Fuck, I remember being shocked going from FF4's blazing fast random encounters.

you can either have time to beat games or beat women.

very nice post

I almost loved Jade Cocoon until the true grind of the battles dawned on me. The reason these games need it is purely because of the battle animations. In JC the monster capture and switching animations just take too long, then there's the shorter attacking animations on top of that. It gets too repetitive even with fast-forward.

What if I grind XP to speed up the game?

Speed up?
No thanks! I just use cheat engine to give myself more XP.

I use money cheats and frameskips and I beat lots of games. I'm also 40 and don't have time for level grinding.

I truly beat the games, because I saw the content and explored it with my controller.

And much like harbs and crystal salt, I do it as much as I want, and it is my choice.

You can't stop me faggot.

...and there you are.

Grown man wasted his life on slow jrpg's and now tries to shame people who bypassed the grind.

>bypassed the grind
What's even the point of jrpgs if it isn't to grind?

I use fast forward and frameskip and I beat lots of porn. I'm also 40 and don't have time for my wife.

I truly beat the porn, because I saw the content and explored it with my cock.

And much like harbs and crystal salt, I do it as much as I want, and it is my choice.

You can't stop me faggot.

...and there you are.

If you need to grind that much to be effective then the game has poorly designed encounter pacing.

If you're going to speed up the game to grind, you might as well just cheat at that point.
However, using speedup to control the pace of the game is fine in my book, especially if it's a game you've already played several times and want to get down to the meat of it. There is no "gameplay" in waiting additional seconds each time you enter commands and wait for them to happen. The gameplay is in the decision making. If a player wants to speed along to the next time they get to do gameplay, that's as good a use of speedup as any.

I like the game but it's true

Exquisite post

Play digimon world 2.
Beat the game both on original hardware and emulation.
Total playtime is 60 hours and 40 of those are just watching slow animations.
You weak people disgust me.

The point of every TRUE rpg is to be miserable and bored. They are not meant to be played, they are meant to be endured. The more boring and tedious the game is, the higher I rank it. What's the point of even beating a game if you didn't hate every second of it? How is it an accomplishment if you actually enjoyed it?

Im playing pokemon and only using my starter and it 1 shots almost every enemy in the game. The game only challenged me on using the same pokemon for 1 random trainer battle. This seems like the optimal way to play the game and its basically grinding. I think that most good jrpgs can be beaten without grinding (not counting superbosses) with decent strategy.
>>
>>3939039
To fight bosses? You’re telling me that monotonously spawning low level basic enemies to farm for xp for several hours on repeat is a stimulating experience and hallmark of why you play rpg’s? Are you autistic?
>>
>>3935511
Grinding in itself is an abuse of mechanics to achieve a desired result the developers didn’t factor in; you’re artificially pumping the level of experience your party has to breeze through tougher encounters from being over-leveled. Grinding is only normalized because of terrible encounter progression from earlier jrpg’s, and it’s not a sign of good game design. OP is attempting to shame others for not cheating his way, but is perfectly fine with cheating as long as he feels like it was “earned”. Regardless, it’s another jarpigger L.

What if I speed it up so I can grind the esoteric crafting mats so I can unlock the next h-scene for the h-cup elf lady?

It's so you can appreciate the awesome music, anon. Which you should. Final Fantasy battle themes are yet another reason why turn-based combat is superior to any and all other forms of combat.
>>
>playing FFX on my ps2
>delay and prolong the battles as much as possible so I can keep hearing the battle music to the end
>>
>>3948354
>turn-based Final Fantasy has the best battle music, literal masterpieces performed by fans and classical orchestras alike around the world
>real-time combat ff16's battle music is shit
Coincidence? I don't think so.
>>
>>3948371
i listened to the entirety of the so-called "great music" of FFXVI. it's mostly forgettable film music and soken's obsession with ill-fitting obnoxious rock music.
