>>3937792You're looking for hack-and-slash games, anon. You don't like the whole part where you're supposed to immerse yourself within a setting and deal with the practical realities of living and adventuring there. What you're looking for is Diablo, Path Of Exile and games like that. Just hold down the "do" button and hypnotize yourself with the flashing screen as meaningless glittering animations play randomly. Now you know what you're looking for. Hope this helps. Bye.
>>3937792What game? This sounds awesome
>>3937792>WRPGYeah we snoozin

>>3937795You gotta admit, CRPGs have the worst flow of any genre. They're like some unholy mashup between an RTS, a point-and-click adventure, and a visual novel but also you have to manage 4 separate inventories because the developers hate you. I don't think it's a coincidence the genre died out as soon as analog controls became the norm.
>>3937792>forced tabletop emulationThat's kinda where the whole concept stems from.CRPGs are just what happens when you take a tabletop formula, and expand the hell out of it's mechanics now that you don't need a dedicated DM to remember and manage every diceroll and calculation. Not to say everything NEEDS to be a 1-1 clone of D&D, but it's mostly just layers of abstraction.

>>3937792His is like trying to talk sense on fuckers that insist random hex crawls are as good as handcrafted maps. Don't waste your time.
>>3937792What if instead, you have say 6 bullshit pseudo content fluff mechanics like food gathering, or making consumables etc. but you have 5 extra party members you can leave behind in Camp to do those jobs. Thus the player only has to choose one task they like, or hate the least, that they have to do in order to keep progressing. And if they opt out entirely they get permanent stat penalties and a gay furry romance dialog tree with misleading/mislabeled nodes is forced upon them.
