>the GOAT JRPG>was made by AmericansHow did they do it?
go back to /vr/, kid
>>3938346>/vr/ understands basic truthsBased board.
Pretty boring actually.
>>3938342The most pathetic attempt at ragebait I've seen in a while.
>>3938342They scaled down. Made a small adventure that felt big, rather than a big adventure that couldn't keep up the scale due to console and work limitations. Kinda the reason I like Evermore more than Mana.
America glazing on japanese ips will never not be funny.
It was a good game.
I love Secret of Evermore. I think I still prefer Mana slightly, but it's very close. Great memories of playing the game as a kid, and naming the dog after my first dog.
>>3938870This should be the next game to get a remake instead of Chrono Trigger.
>>3938886A remake could be sweet, plus there's a lot they could add. Like when you get the ship and world map at the end, there's islands you can't land on. Even just expanding the endgame and adding some sidequests in places like that would be cool.I'm skeptical of Square Enix remakes though, and it'll probably never happen anyway since they seem to ignore the game completely. It hasn't even been rereleased ever.
>>3938902A couple of the people who worked on it have posted online fairly often about it, there's some interesting details about the development if you dig it up. Alan Weiss and Brian Fehdrau (he posts as "It's Bill's Fault").The commercial is pretty cool (this video was actually uploaded by Brian)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dEu8wDAQuDk
>>3938342It starts off interesting, but falls off pretty fast.Wouldn't surprise me if there are 20 other rpgs, on the snes that you ought to play first before considering to play Secret of Evermore.
>>3938902>>3938903Remake it with remnants of the old team if they exist and possible new recruits to help sew things together but with soul intact. Would buy.Secret of Evermore was fantastic. I actually never knew it was made in America as opposed to Japan, if that's true.>>3938909I don't recall immensely, but traveling throughout times with your dog and all the currency exchange stuff were really fond memories of mine. I'm pretty sure it's just an overlooked gem because of weebs. Other RPGs on SNES are also good, but Evermore stands strong regardless.Source: Had most RPGs (if not all) released in America growing up, played the shit out of them (i.e., more than once), am OG gamer, can confirm.
>I need rice for spice. I need spice to get chickens. Chickens get me golden jackals. Gotta get beads and perfume. I need tapestries, scarabs, and more rice. Gotta get that spoon too...Legitimately one of my favorite sections in any game.
>>3938342A game unlike any other>How did they do it?1) white ameircans2) ost done by3) live>experience 4) good humor 5) cloned established gameplay (mana) 6) unique atmosphere7) ruined act 4>>3938346Kys
>>3938886>>3938902Impossible to remake in today's timeline
>>3938903I don't get it. Such games are easy af to produce nowadays. With ks or the like they could get mm in no time. I wanted to make an evermore clone, but lost my main source of income. What makes evermore a good game is certainly not the mid gameplay, but the right mix of contemporary and historical fantasy. It's time travel without the bullshit.
>>3939507Unfortunately never used again. Zoomies would never get through that section. Hiding great items behind riddles.
>>3939527>>3939529>>3939534>>3939536lol
>>3939647Go back to Secret of Mana. Real kino isn't for you.
>>3939647Truth nuke.>>3939662>Go back to [Same shit]Bruh, no one gives a shit about your zelda ripoff with damage numbers. Burger or Rice ball. Only /vr/ pretends to give a a shit about the mana series.
>>3939679You've never even played it. Stop pretending to have an actual opinion on it.
>>3939691>Implying u beed to play a gayme to have an opinion >When jewtube is a thingLol. Lmaoing at ur life even.
>>3939700Okay, zoomer.
>>3939700Please quit typing like you're brown if you want to be taken seriously.
>>3938342>>the GOAT JRPG>>was made by Americansyou wish stupid gringo
>>3939662i played this game before you were born. it's very alright. caring about snes jap action rpgs at all anymore and trying to get some generational war started over decades old games is p. sad.
>>3940171Okay. Now I know you're the kind of guy who would be busy complaining about how Japanese people are depicted in Wonder Woman comics instead of fighting in WWII after Pearl Harbor happened. Fucking pathetic.
>>3940300What does how Rosenfeld conned the goys with Pearl Harbor have to do with Secret of Mana?
Like everyone else, I hate consumables. So this game took many tries over the years to actually go through. In the end it's actually not bad. It's on par with Secret of Mana and similar arpg.
>>3939507>10 minutesIf it didn't have a time limit it would be fine. Blind you aren't going to afford anything.
>>3940300cool story brou got owned
What's with the contra here? Evermore is an unique experience. If you don't like it, don't play it.
>>3940640>the contrapoint to it.
>>3938342One of the worst games I've ever tried playing and proof that Americans in the '90s basically couldn't make shit.
>>3940800Except for tons of amazing PC games that came out in the 90s. Americans made great games, including Secret of Evermore.
>>3940360>>3940655>>3940800Weebs will never be able to handle that Americans invented, innovated, and perfected RPGs.
>>3940929i'm not a weeb, why are you quoting me.
