Digimon Survive is only $10 on Steam. Is it worth it?

Absolute shit translation and garbage gameplay. I liked the story enough but it fell apart a bit on subsequent playthroughs. If you like Digimon it's a fine enough game for $10, if you're indifferent then avoid.
I played up to the first death, and then forgot I had it. It wasn't very compelling.

Post covid digimon has entered into a golden era. For some reason final fantasy endwalker borrowed alot of cinematography from the last digimon tri movie, which was a terrible movie. Jujutsu Kaisen name drops this franchise and the most powerful jutsu in Kaiju 8 stems from this franchise. Pokemon was always about consumerism. Digimon has been virtual pets, a major card game ( twice, and a failed one like 4 to 8 additional times, and a good one that does not matter twice in vidya) , Anime, Comics. Digimon is ultimately a roleplaying franchise. This is why in the 2000s you had literal digimon cultists - not so with pokemon. Like super sentai by being a roleplaying toy it is extremely sticky in human memory ( persona 2 makes reference to this )

>>3940264It was so boring. It's like 80% visual novel and 20% tactical battles and the battles are so simple. It would have been ok if the story was at least good, but it was just a series of stupid mistakes made by stupid people acting dramatically for the sake of causing drama in the narrative. I don't even really remember it, I just remember being angry every time I played it and disliking every character.
