So I've always wanted to play DQIX (moslty because I really like Level 5, and it's one of the few DS RPGs I've yet to touch). But the whole multi-player thing has pushed me away from the title for a long time, despite the fact you can play the game entirely in single player.
Is the game worth playing alone? Is the multi-player component really that important?

It's an okay game but it's my least favorite dragon quest. Going from 8 to 9 was a huge dissapointment. Not even 11 really compared with 8s scale.

I feel like they haven't remastered 8 because square knows they could never make a new HD dragon quest that good.

It fucking sucks. It's DQ8 except with DQ3's party so all the attempts at emotional storytelling and shit are blunted by your fucking no personality mannequinns not reacting to anything.
