I love the atmosphere of this game, it's so immersive. After a masterpiece like Witcher 3 Wildhunt, I reckon they tried their hand at delivering a Fallout type experience using Mike Pondsmith's Cyberpunk ip. Anyone else find themselves deeply engaged by the lore of this universe?
>>3944680>immersiveSo are you blitzing through the main campaign and ignoring all the side content, or are you wandering around the city, ignoring the ticking time bomb in your head?
>>3944704Yes.
>>3944704Life's short, spend it how you want before you die.
>>3944722Ah, so your approach is to ignore everything V is saying and write in your own character motivation. I often end up doing that too, since V is fucking boring.
>>3944680this game is shit and your opinions are shit
>>3944739play the game
>get in an elevator>slide through the floor and dieVery immersive indeed
>>3945259that's what happens when you slide through the floor in real life
>>3945203Is that>play the gameas in>stop worrying about nonsense like "motivation" and "character" and just play the game, just go shoot some dudes it's not meant to be complicatedor as in>you haven't played the game, you need to play the game to understand what's actually wrong with it
>>3945317The game centers around the idea of inevitable death, and the desire to become notorious beforehand, to go out in a blaze of glory. V is not different before and after soulkiller, it's still the same modus operandi. So this notion that it's unimmersive to do whatever you want and enjoy yourself is silly.
>>3945325That's a fine idea, but whoever wrote V's lines and directed the voice acting apparently get the memo, because that's not what happens in game. The only time you get an option to accept your death is picking the ending where you shoot yourself. Every other moment, start to finish, V is desperately chasing any leads for getting just a bit more life, and acts devastated when it doesn't work out. That's what I meant by "write in your own character motivation". If you just pretend that the reason you're putting off the main quest is that you've already given up on a cure, and want to make an impact on the world in the time you have left, then yes, the story works. But you have to pretend. You have to ignore every scene where V is talking about dying, because that's not what he says at all. This is why most RPGs don't have a voiced protagonist.
>>3945338Correction, there are TWO times where you get an option to accept your death. The other is the ending where you clear Arasaka Tower without ceding control to Johnny, but then choose to let him have your body in the end.If you do the same ending sequence as Johnny, V cries and whines the whole time. Sure would be interesting if you could express some sentiment about accepting your death, and then the game would pick a different response depending on your previous choices. Too bad Cyberpunk wasn't that kind of game.
>>3944680It's like VTMB but better, bigger, cyberpunkier.
>>3945311Really makes u think
>>3944680It's really enjoyable to just drive around and tackle side gigs.
It's pretty good. I've played through it a few times. My current game I'm just being a completionist and fucking around. Some quests are super annoying to complete for various reasons (like Rivers investigation), but there isn't too much like that. There's a few things I loathe doing in this game, but most of it is just sitting around listening to pretentious dialogue I've already seen half a dozen times.Unfortunately the game gets really easy, too. Doing all the side content first will catapult you to the cap and then the rest of the story is piss easy and slightly boring. They really fucked up the balance if I have anything negative to say about it.
>>3944739v is fucking boring, i do this too, like v doesnt even exist and its my own story, fact we cant play beyond keanu extraction pisses me off in many ways, doesnt even feel like a sandbow, it shouldve been the gta cyberpunk version but they fucked up heavily
>>3949661They should have written a story where the original V is just dead after the prologue, and you play as Keanu Reeves puppeting her body.
>>3949740>her
>>3949740isnt that like the canon ending
I liked it when it came out, when everyone bitched about it I was unironically having a "blast". Phantom Liberty came out I went back to it and was filtered instantly by the forced companion woman president stealing my kills, excessive dialogue and railroaded into story corridorstheres nothing more immersion breaking than a companion who can't die and steals your killsthe expansion should have fleshed out the open world and made it a good sandbox like saints row 2 instead of making another fucking moviegame story
>>3944680Honestly I just want more cyberpunk. I love night city. I couldn't care for the witcher, never played it. All three of the witcher games are just rotting in my library. I hope once the second studio is efficiently running we get more cyberpunk more often.
>>3944680playing for first time after all the patches, and it's actually not that bad. but writing is way worse than it was in witcher 3, and side quests are so fucking boring. there's nothing to do outside main story basically, and main story is like 15 hours long. the world is also so empty, you see these cool megabuildings, but there's nothing in them excepts main story content
>>3955805so what do you find redeeming about it? you just shat all over the game and pointed out why nobody should play it. its a shit game and idk why zoomers obsess over it, i think its because you guys didn't play the OG COD MW's because every mission in Cyberpunk feels like a watered down mission from those games.
>>3955844>i think its because you guys didn't play the OG COD MW's because every mission in Cyberpunk feels like a watered down mission from those gamesThats the most retarded shit I have ever read. Maybe try playing as a netrunner you w + m1 retard
>>3955882>Maybe try playing as a netrunner you w + m1 retardThis is rich, because netrunner is the “m1 but no w” playstyle
>>3955650Jesus, go play Witcher 3, it's modern Ocarina of Time.
>>3955844>i think its because you guys didn't play the OG COD MWCyberpunk plays like an open world Deus Ex, you can complete missions in several ways. Thinking it just an FPS is so retarded.
