Do you like JRPG adaptations
I haven't seen Dai, well actually that's a half truth, I've seen a few episodes of the remake and then I stopped because my retarded streaming service was missing some episodes and never cared enough to look for the rest. However, Abel Yuusha is excellent. It has a very slow start though, the first few eps are a bit slow, but it gets really good after that. I love all the small nods to the games and how the show makes a lot of effort of making it feel like the game, from weapon shopping in town, talking to NPCs, dungeon crawling, etc and the size of some of the monsters really made them threatening whereas in the games you'd never have guessed they were this big.Although watch out, last time I checked the last 2-3 eps only had (terrible) MTL subs and the order of a couple of episodes right at the very end were reversed for some reasons.

>>3945502Dai is really good. I recommend both the manga and the 2020 adaptation (more so the former)
>>3945502>streaming service>uses 4chanWTF? We are all pirates here.>>3945482Eh, Dai no Dai bouken was great, but other JRPG adaptations weren't the best >Arc the LadWas mediocre, took out the magic and humor of the series and made it superserious dogshit. It didn't expound on the characters and many were cut all together.>Mana Generic style replaced the whimsical art storybook art of Shinichi Kameoka!
>>3945482I liked Tales of Abyss anime adaptation. Can't remember any other good ones.
>>3945482maam is cute
Disgaea's was trash too>non of the memorable music present>crazy Takehito Harada Designs reduced to generic drivel>moe dogshit all around>netherworld made generic slop,>bad ending made cannon>no super bosses like baal>filler all aroundan overall shitshow to say the least.
The FFV OVA was kind of cool, but it barely had anything to do with the original game.
Is there any manga for final fantasy in general tho? And I mean like the older ones and not the more newer games and their manga and that isekai and aside from Kingdom hearts for one.
>>3949354FF has few manga in general let alone the older ones. There's one adaptation of FF1 and one for FF3 that recently got TL'ed
>>3945482Sometimes.
>>3949415TL’d?Also nothing for ff7 - 10?
The Persona 1 manga was pretty fun
>>3945482>>3945502the original dai no daibouken 1991 anime is FANTASTIC, and although i was sad when i watched it as a kid becaues it stops abruptly, now i'm glad it did because that's when it starts getting really retardeddon't let it discourage you, it's super cool, look at this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oT8RYe2BU-calso pop is the real hero of the story because he's just a normal human being but learns to overcome fear and to give it all for the greater good
>>3945482>JRPG adaptationsyes i like Pokemons and Star Ocean:2nd Story. the Star Ocean anime was ass though.
>>3950563I actually really like how it has a Hero-capital-H (Dai) and a hero-lowercase-h (Pop).Never seen anything else do that.
>>3945482When I play a game I want it to be a story and scenario written for the game and when I watch a TV show I want the story and characters to have been made for the TV show. I dont like when the two mingle.
For me it's the Fire Emblem OVAWe actually got to see those one-note characters Kaga wrote to actually have a personality.
>>3945502Is this like a straight adaptation of IIII appreciate how they got Toriyama's art style down to a tee
>>3951003It's a completely new and stand alone story but there are references to all 4 first games, including a cameo from Mara and Nara
>>3951004How would you compare it to Dai? I consider Dai to be an excellent battle shonen and a suitable love letter to Dragon Quest where it counts, but it sadly misses the adventure aspect in favor of constant escalation of stakes and power levels.
