Dudley's fix, baldurdash, tweaks anthology man... Every time I come back to the OG BG1 (every couple of years) I always gotta remind myself how to patch that fucking thing again

Most old links being down doesn't really help. Do you guys run baldurdash fix pack or are those bugfixes included in the tweaks anthology bundle? Do you use any other mods like dudley's fix pack?

I am thinking of maybe just running baldurdash and widescreen fix on the current playthrough..? Should I get the GOG version of the originals or just pirate the CD version?

I just remembered there's plainab's fixpack too,

I think you will have to search for old archived threads for those patches and save them, because everyone probably uses the EE version now.

>everyone probably uses the EE version now.
I don’t, I hate the EEs. It’s been years since I set up an original install, though, so don’t remember the specifics off top of my head. Think you want the widescreen patch, the widescreen UI patch, the gibberlings fix pack, and the gibberlings tweak pack, possibly in that order.

Fixpacks are always installed first.
Standard mods next.
Tweaks towards the end.
Widescreen is almost always last.

You could try GemRB if you would like a modern engine, though you would still need actual game patches.

is there any mod that makes evil run in bg1 fun/viable? i love the game, but there's zero roleplaying in it
>>
>>3952376
Just skip Baldur's Gate, it's a RTS turned into a roleplaying game with barely any roleplaying out of combat
>>
>>3957280
I’m sorry that you feel that way, old man.
>>
Just play EE and stop being an oldfag hipster
>>

I would never

AFAIK there's anither story mod coming up.

dunno where that image is from but it's hilarious. Testicular torsion fucking sucks.

How does this happen?
>>

Well playing the original games is impossible in Spanish since you need either the game in Spanish or a patch to put the original games official translation in the GOG version (since this version is only on English) because if you wanna install the Revised and Fixed translation made by Clan Dlan, which ALL mods for the Original game uses, you obligatory need the official Spanish to work properly and the Games in Spanish and the patch to make the revised Spanish translation work in the GOG version are both lost media... Forcing you to use EE games instead...
>>
>>3959569
Clan Dlan also closed and this was the equivalent of the burning of the Library of Alexandria on the spanish translation community since they were the biggest and most active translation group translating old games, mods for old games and fixes for officials shitty translations...

Beamdog is a guilty of a number of different crimes. Here are the major ones.

1. old = good, new = bad

2. they are jews

3. where were you when BWS was kill?

4. assassin nerf. they nerfed the most powerful class

5. barbarian not a class n e more

6. Baldur's Gate 3 is better
>>
>>3959606
That's easier said than done. Where do you find that repack when Magito isn't going to bother reuploading his shit anymore?
>>
>>3959947
Internet archive
>>
>>3952376
Okay... but why?
>>
>>3967424
NTA but the originals are better in literally every way with the exception of one QoL convenience feature (area looting)
>>
>>3959616
BG3 is nowhere near the first two you monkey
>>
>>3959616
All the BG games are trash. However beamdog's greatest crime is using a version of the BG2 engine for IWD and BG1. The best way to play IWD is the original release with all the balance in tact.
>>3967424
>>3967426
For BG1 and IWD, they are not the originals as they are not built upon the original engines. They are just BG2 mods. On top of that the EE for BG1 and BG2 introduce garbage beamdog companions which do not mesh well with either game that you have to install a mod to remove.
>>
>>3967828
if BG1, BG2 and ToB are trash, what are some RPGs that are 10/10? As in, games at least 10 times better than any of these games :^)?
>>
>>3952376
Coincidentally, I installed BG1 classic and installed the following in this order:

fixpack, the original baldurdash one
unfinished business, if you want
mini quests and encounters, if you want
herbs, if you want
widescreen, i set it to 1280x720.
cnc ddraw, this fixes the lag caused by widescreen
bg1 hd gui, this centers the movies and menus surrounded by black. for the game, it makes it look good
