because I got tired of posting in /crpg/
I concede defeat. Psi monk is superior to normal monk. With a telekinetic proxy, you effectively punch three times. Your psionic punch is even stronger than your normal punch but only your normal punch benefits from crits and can amplify your psionic punches even more by triggering bone breaker's mechanical damage bonus. Not to mention, the sheer utility of having sure hit and a fuck ton of stuns. Dodgy fucks? TK Punch or shock, no tasers required, then beat them to death. Fucking proxy does over a hundred damage when you move it with maxxed strength and corporeal projection. I wish electrokinesis also scaled with your strength, but you can take up electrostatic electricity and freely specc on it to make nearly every hit a crit. with focus stim, no infused rathound required. My only real complaint is Psi crabs and Nagas being annoying as fuck with their absurd mech resistance and electric resistance. I've been thinking of getting Expose Weakness just for them, but I can still crit nagas for 500 damage with TK punch on Trance.
>>3958604Should've tabbed to my psychokinesis. My strength is 15 without buffs. With vitality powder and super soldier, it's 21. I think I might still need corrosive acid against Tchort if I don't get Expose Weakness. Still wondering if mod anon will implement that alternative anons talked about or modify EW to scale with strength or dex instead of int of all fucking things.
who asked?

>Most kino ending is the one where you fuck up
>>3958604>I've been thinking of getting Expose Weakness just for themCrowbar+firecracker does the job well enough. After the nerf EW stinks a bit too much for me.
>>3958680It is absolute trash now, but I have mod anon's plug in installed with the old EW enabled. Still fucking insane how Styg decided the unga bunga method had to scale with fucking int.
>>3958685>mod anon's plug His name is White Gray n'shiet.
>>3958700names are gay
>>3958685The INT scaling is fine and welcome, the problem is the pathetic base value alongside the long CD/short duration.
>>3958702lol nobut that is also awful

With the new update, will upload at some point
>>3959204
4 spec points to increase duration 1 turn. Secret cap on how much AP can be refunded in 1 turn.
Spec to reduce CD
>>3958608>EW to scale with strength or dex instead of intThis is probably what you wanted>>3958700A lot of people seem to accidentally call me White Gay sometimes, what a weird coincidence
>>3959209this one's weirdwhy this?
>>3959211Holy fuck I love you.But is it your reduced AP or the base weapon AP? Because one is a weird choice while the other makes sense, your reduction being based on your choice of material.
Probably time to take a break from this game again but I'm glad I got to try some psi stuff I hadn't before. Definitely have to come back to play knife w/ tc for locus + predatory psi spell whatever it's called, and then mess with motor cognitive transference.
>>3959213Active AP cost because we want to emphasize stat choices as well as weapon choices. I agree that reverse-scaling feels a bit odd though.
>>3959215Well, yeah. Logically, why would being faster make your punches any less as damaging?
>>3959213>16% reduction>12% reduction>10% reductionHmmm. Is it possible to code a different percentage for each type or is that a giant mess with slavjank coding?>>3959216>>3959215It's not really punishing because of how easy it is to stack combo with that much AP, but it is a weird choice for that reason given.
>>3959216I don't really care about the realism argument, just don't like the idea of losing power by raising a stat. This implementation focuses on making the best tool for the job 1. Metal Gloves, and 2. Strength builds, which is good enough unless something better becomes apparent.
>50 base AP (70 with adrenaline and 75 with vitality powder 90/95 with temporal contraction added on)>5 minimum>10/14/16 hits>3/4/6 combos>15/20/30% reductionhmmm
>>3959220It also loses power from picking a feat since you need lightning punches to get that low.>>3959221Question is how long is the duration.
>>3959221It's 2x the AP cost and max stacks are 3
>>3959224Oh, I guess the description box is too short to add all details?
>>3959226Yes.I imagined Unarmed keeping Power Fist in the offhand or something of that nature.I added another Feat to encourage this, I'll get a screen shot. No reason leather gloves couldn't do the same. It would be nice to see a build that mixes up weapons dynamically in combat.
>>3959204>>3959207I like this. Swords being flurry focused and only flurry was so retarded.
>>3959214It's not much of a damage bonus, like at all. Really, your gimping yourself with less health and skill points just for the abiltiy to do, and I fucking shit you not, 24% more damage at 350 effective skill
>>3959229>>3959226So with pic related, Heavy Punch, etc. I think it makes sense to have a light fist and a heavy fist in each slot, and I think that works thematically and is hopefully fun. If the implementation is right. A sliding scale of weapons from bare fist to heavy metal fist, a sliding scale of dex to str. Or maybe just none of them are worth taking due to the Feat tax on fists already being pretty high.>>3959230Hopefully it works. Should be playable on ALL armor types, if there are no major oversights. The tuning on the self-damage is extremely tight, not sure if the numbers are right.
>>3959233Ah thanks. Bit depressing. A lot a bit depressing, but I might as well try it out-- waay in the future since I have other games I want to play for now
>>3959234I am too devoted to the purest form of violence to try this, but it is an interesting idea.
>>3959233>more useless than Cyrogenic Barrier
>>3959238Motor-cognitive Transferrance is the worst psi ability in general, but you actually expect something you'd think you can make an entire build with.
>>3959218>different percentage for each type or is that a giant messIt's hard for me to tell what the character has equipped, yes, I had that problem with riot armor as well. Not slavjank problem though, I'm certain there's a way to do it if you know what you're doing, I just don't have anything to copy off of. Based on what I've seen so far I think Styg must be a really good programmer, because it's organized in a way that is comprehensible to someone who knows nothing. There's structures I can rely on to be consistent, and make inferences from. It was planned with foresight because the architect was aware of what would be required.Actually, It's been a few weeks now, but I think maybe the reason I went with active cost was because I couldn't find un-modified cost originally. I'll look into that again and try to solve it more elegantly, maybe something other than AP cost. Maybe I really can identify material. Thanks for the feedback as always. Really need some other eyes to take a look at it every once in awhile.
>>3959246You're legitimately the first real modder for this game. And it's fucking crazy how it took ten years for this to be possible.
>>3959238Cryogenic barrier is niche, but damn if it doesn't work well in its niche.Still a shame there isn't an option to cast it outside of water for a higher cost or something.
>>3959598>tfw it's stronger than force field at blocking the enemyhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uYCPOUsDJmQ
>>3959600I really need to try a mono psi school run these days just so I can play around with the sheer amount of extra skill points
>>3959602In that case it's probably PK or Metathermics. I wish there was more feats or PSI moves regarding the use of electrokinesis. Force lightning the fuck outta enemies is fun.
>>3959233Not mod anon but for this I thought of fun changes where it could overflow psi gains into your reserves. And vise versa on bloodmage can overheal you on kills depending on skill%. The transfer TC ability too would let you get AP back on kill so they'll be more usefull for utility psi runs with LOC
>>3959693should say the AP on kill is only for targets affected by the skill tranfer like predation does it. 5AP prob be what I set it with LOC use with no drop off. Though it could be higher at 7AP but does has the AP drop off that hit and run/fancy footwork has
>>3959693>>3959706any remember too if mental breakdown doubles the affect of these TC abilities. I assume but haven't tried it
>>3959716even if it did, you'd have to use three psi abilities to get 48% damage against a single target
>>3959246Well well well, look who's the little moron now. Turns out I had gotten base AP working and just forgotten to update my notes, so it works like this:>Unarmed per stack 10%, 30% total>Leather glove per stack 12%, 36% total>Metal glove per stack 16%, 48% total threshold/DR bypassAnd the hit that applies the 3rd stack has its damage repeated, so if you apply the last 2 stacks with a single combo + Heavy Punch hit, you get a fat load of damage, and then instantly do the same damage again with armour bypass.>>3959706>could be higher at 7AP butIf this were a feat, that's what I would suggest spec points are for. I guess in this case it would make sense to buff it up to that amount WITH a Feat. Which would also have to have other effects.
>>3960053You're removing the double then? 60% reduction would be kind of absurd. What's the duration?
>>3960030if your using knives you have the dehumanizer for fear if not molies next best thing for the damage. My main problem with them though is even not going into the mediocre buffs they provide predation cost too much in both Psi and AP to use even when killing a bunch with LOC since it doesn't refill your reserves. It could go down to 10 or 5 AP and tranq making it free would still barely make it worth using.Skill tranfer TC ability prob should of been 5AP and 30 psi cost from the start. What the hell was STYG on making that one cost 20AP and 80 psi. Plasma beam/implosion don't even have that absurd cost and they do actual damage
>>3960165Styg has a very autistic idea of balance.Remember, he neutered psi to shoehorn a ton of worthless abilities and only a few good ones
>>3958596another threadly reminder that styg is an albanian zoophile
>>3960184lol
>>3960184:O

>>3960380post build, i heard xbow are trash which always annoyed me cause i always wanted to play it.
>>3960399Not much to tell really. Max per, max crossbow, max perception, and max mechanics until you hit the softcap at 80 (Hypercerebrix and crafting bench would get you a 160 quality crossbow before crafting nerf because its bonuses don't add to crafting skill requirement). Get traps to 50 for deadly snares. Level everything else as you please.
>>3960399>>3960402This is why you don't need defensive skills. You will crit nearly every time with max stealth ambush, focus stim, seeker lens, and recklessness. No survival instincts needed. This isn't even getting into shockbolts stunning, flashbangs for group CC, crawler caltrops and bolts, incendiary bolts, and so on. Just insane fucking utility and damage.
>>3960404>>3960399But this most of all is why crossbows are so absurd.Lightning, acid, and fire. You won't need to care about dealing enough mechanical damage against resistant enemies. There is an option for everything. And it goes by your crit bonus.
>>3960399>xbows trashnah people just think they're boring lol
how important are traps for xbow build and is there any way to make it work with grenades instead? cause i really cba to use traps
>>3960415They're mostly there to trigger deadly snares for guranteed crit than almost always crit.

A mk2 shock bolt and three incendiary mk3s to roast him
>>3960415You only need 50 in traps. Basic bitch ass bear traps are phenomeal. Or you can take versatility and acid blob your enemies: it counts as them being in a trap
>>3960399>i heard xbow are trashThis was never the case.It got outclassed by snipers when they got killing spree but crossbow remained extremely strong nonetheless. It's uber boring to play, tho, even if you don't fall for the traps trap.

CROSSBOWS CAN'T DO SHIT AGAINST CANS, HUH?!?!?!
I wanna so a strength focused melee build for my first ever melee playthrough. Can't decide between spears or hammers. I should mention, I'm not going to be using spear throw. I just want a raw melee damage experience.
>>3960662Spear throw is a melee attack boosted by strength though?
>>3959230You could have always used decapitate if you went with STR.
>>3960700Ah yesSpammable decapitate with no cooldown
>>3960702It's kinda odd how he's going this new route rather than trying to improve the decapitate route.
>>3960703what fucking route?
Rathound Regalia may be optimal but plain Ancient Rathound is too sexy.
>>3960706keep your dicks in your pants, good lord
>>3960704There is none since Styg isn't fleshing it out. Instead he's going for a different route. It would be cool to have a proper STR sword route rather than just casino mode 2.0 for swords.
I remember it being around here when I realized how OP xbows were
>>3960716what's the best way to get through that tc spell with all the protective clones? aside from grenades
>>3960790The mirror images one? You can use neural overload / psi interruption to nuke him directly. What's wrong with grenades? Alternatively, set poisoned bear traps and caltrops.
I enjoy late game shotguns
>>3960836nothing wrong with grenades, just want to figure out all the options a player has.
>>3960790fast weapons like smg trivialise pseudo-spatial projection of course since you ask for counter for that shit you don't use low AP weapons, your best option is obviously to kill those fuckers before they can cast this spell, grenades, any AOE attack, and stalling, lucky this spell don't last that long and you can throw caltrops under the fucker feets and run away
>>3960858It's kind of limited, in a lot of ways. Area attacks, traps and direct psi powers are the only ways I know of for bypassing the mirror image thing. Lots of things are area attacks, including obviously metatherm psi powers. Neural overload being a direct damage that ignore so many different defenses is a central feature that keeps TC functional. Psi interrupt is obviously a strong power against any enemy psi, and if you're high enough you could one-shot him with it. Bear traps and caltrops are so powerful they're basically mandatory for literally EVERY build in the game, along with grenades. That said, there's temporal manip shenanigans you could get up to. If you could find a way to hit him with a sniper shot before he put up the mirror images (good luck with that), you could use temp manip to cause the damage to repeat. If he heals himself use undo to strip the healing. And of course distortion is direct, so it bypasses, too, but you'd have to spend a few turns stacking it.I actually have not tested with TK punch or whatever would bypass his mirror images. I generally regard psychokinesis as a weak school for my playstyle since it's more about key moments and then waiting for cooldowns.
>>3960790Any psi ability is a sure hit. Poisoned caltrops will still work if they walk over. Anything with AoE damage will hit them.
>>3960712You seem to be confused. Bloodlust/Rampage has little randomness, especially compared to Flurry. What is the Decapitate strength line meant to be?
>>3961010>DOUBLE sure it doesn't break stealthWell, now I know.
Underrail is one of the greatest games ever made but it’s not perfect. There are some choices that are frustrating. But all in all its such a unique and well crafted experience oozing with soul and you get to witness a developer grow in skill, maturity and knowledge as your progress through the game. Compare omega complex with the black sea and it’s incredible. Thank you styg. But I am being serious here: if you add anything like the phreak phone, music puzzle, spirit graveyard or continue with that autistic hacking thing you sneak peaked in the alpha gameplay purely to stroke your ferryman “suffering makes us lighter” autism im going to pirate your game/ddos the wiki and websites/make cheat mods. >>3961023>phreak phone, music puzzle, spirit graveyardThese were all good things desu. Also there's a solver for the music puzzle, mutagen puzzle, and a mod for the phone puzzle that turns the tones into tts voice w/ assigned numbers to each tone. spirit graveyard is also like not even a puzzle you just have to pay attention to what the characters say and i don't remember what else you needed for it, probably int for yngwar? fuck it's been a while.I think hacking and lockpick minigames are probably going to be turbo gay tedium, but i'll wait to see how they're done. styg should find a way to add security pins and counter rotation and various levels of tensioning to the lockpick minigame ahahaaaa

Looking forward to Infusion's jank combat system even if only so enemies can get more of a chance to shine. As it is you kinda go through Underrail alpha striking the shit out of everything and if you don't you get bilocuted, netted then sniped and gang bashed, plasma beamed, etc.It just suuucks so much that there are all these bosses with names and sometimes stories but your only interaction with them is a 1 turn kill or stunning them the entire fight because they'll 1 turn kill you if you let them get a full turn of attacks on you.I want these guys to show me what they've got without dying.
is it so hard to ask for a single fucking bolt quiver?
>>3960415traps not important at all. nades are anti-synergy because they take utility slots from special arrows, but it's not a big deal. you only need shock bolts and maybe fire bolts anyway, but they're more fun than grenades that you always use otherwise.
Controversial opinion but it must be said. Everyone builds knives or fists with an exclusive focus on either one. After having played both, I decided to combine fists and knives. Serrated tungsten knife with shock in one hand and reinforced metal glove with hammer in the other. Its genuinely the best build when both types of weapons are used. The fist gives you crowd control with the hammer, and can let you incapacitate a whole group and then cut into each enemy individually if they are spaced out enough with your knife. Knives deal with robots alot easier than fists as well. I stacked up a ton of caps from Phreak and with a reinforced metal it hits fucking hard. Im not a big fan of vile weaponry so fuck bladed gloves. The extra damage from reinforcing stacks well with the crit bonus specs, especially if you crit with the hammer proc.Highly recommended you zoners to try a dex build with 10 int to get specialist. Im maxing out critical power and cheap shots crit and at level 22 I have around 450% crit with a tungsten knife and 330 with a metal glove. I have only have 7 points out of 10 in the critical power spec and cheap shots spec. Im thinking about maxing out ripper to get monster crits with my knife and shred bots easier. If u put 3 points in reckless spec, with the skull bandana I will have exactly 70% crit with focus stim. Still on the fence about high technicalities being worth it. I haven't taken it yet but I think I'll try it and reload if it isn't good. I honestly might take weaponsmith for the extra crit chance with the knife.

Okay so I was thinking: if the player char sticks around the south is there really anything stopping sgs/him occupying the many goldmines of territory he cleaned out/discovered? Sgs is known as “the most powerful station in the south” so the resources for expeditions and expansion is there.Like the entire deep caverns is now utterly abandoned and ripe for the plucking, unlimited power from iris, food from shroom forest, manufacturing. The compound, depending on player choices is a fully stocked and maintained facility ready to roll and be activated (could literally take core city or the entire south with that alone)University/ institute of tchort. Fully abandoned, intacr and ready to be reclaimed. Also probably the only place outside of core city with a high technology potential.Numerous biocorp facilities like lost vault, omega, epone lab.Riftwalking could also allow massive advantages. Grey army base could be looted as well.Entirety of lemuria. Mpc could become stronger than oligarchs if they played it correctly. I guess tanner is more important tho. Maybe keep old man jonas as king and tell him to do all that?
>>3961378I mean, sure. If you stay on at SGS you're on the ruling committee, especially once Tanner vanishes. Feel free to headcanon all the things your character does after the ending slides roll.

Does armor sloping work with a super steel sheet in a carrier vest? Also, I'm confused on the wording of Juggernaut. Does it only work if my body armor is 50% or higher, or can I lower it via Nimble and Armor Sloping below 50% and have it still work?
Welp I tried to be sneaky, but all I had to do is switch to p3 shells and point blank eye. >>3961557Nope, only plate armour, metal boots and riot shield
Bumfights
hello old friend,I'm surprised he don't de-spawn after killing the boss
Welp traumatising Old Jonas and calling Newton wussy ends up my run. Shotgun on old dominating difficulty was fun, in early game they suck ass, Depot-A was cakewalk but then again I suffered a lot until 15lv then combination of shotgun perks, infused sea wyrm armour and crit stacking shotgun turned up ridiculous fun. Now I'm curious how would glass cannon shotgun works but I can't stop playing half-ass tanky builds.
>>3961369disgusting but interesting
>>3961633>glass cannon shotgunThey turn out really good. I made a 13 agility "zoom 'n boom" build a long time ago that used blitz, expert sprint, strider boots, and infused hopper armor. I had more movement than I ever knew what to do with. You can also fuck around with combat shotties, though they aren't as insane as pumps in terms of raw damage. Which is still crazy to me considering burst AR is so good. Not that combat shotguns are bad, they just feel forgotten. You don't get commando or concentrated fire for some reason, and all the combat shotguns have odd shell counts. And regardless of if your burst 5 shells or 2, it still costs a fucking ass load of AP.>Can't stop playing half-ass tanky buildsBased. I don't get the high people get on insanely overpowered alpha striker 1 turn kill everything builds. It gets boring once you reach that point. Tanky builds require preparedness, drugs, rolling with the punches and adapting as the encounter unfolds. Way less predictable, way more fun imo. And not in a gay way like swords.
>>3961350Another little tip for fists I don't know if new players are aware of. I always try to keep my metal glove "loaded". What this means is a good fister keeps a pocket pneumatic hammer ready to go. If I'm finishing up a combat encounter, I will finish off the last 1 or 2 enemies depending on if I crit with my glove. I always keep count of the hits required to activate the hammer. If I'm at 3 hits I will always switch to my knife and kill the remaining enemy. Then for the next battle I have a pocket hammer ready to go when I need it. Be surprised how useful it is to go on a knife crit rampage when you have one enemy left who will one hit kill you and all you gotta do is hit him once and incapacitate him for 5 turns with your offhand fist. Then finish him off with the knife next turn.
>>3961668ya I say combat shotties biggest problem is 2 fold of not having enough AP and Ammo. The epitome of pump and dumpA free reload on kill or getting back half the AP could honestly go along way and even help out the sawd off.I don't know why Despot too needed to get shafted that badly with ammo count making it the worst combat shotty.
>>3961668Yea, wiping out every enemy in single turn as 3 conlet is satisfying but the moment anything go wrong you need to reload game, you probably have to reload if burrower sneeze at you at 20lv, and surviving getting based by all 8 tchort tentacles 3 turns in row is simple funnier. Now I consider running tincan psychosis pure psi build with hemopsychosis, last stand regenerative vest, could be fun if I survive long enough to make build tick probably around 14lv
>>3961693Yea extra ap cost sucks, you could combine tyranny with full auto for 5 shells burst attack but why? It would be overkill after third shell and it's pure rgn if you kill someone behind the target and only need such burst power only for dreadnought, Naga's and bosses at dominating difficulty.
>>3961378The population of SGS really. If you stick around and picked key allies, SGS is basically the strongest in the south by far. The Grim Jetters, what's left of the Eels, Gorsky, and Camp Hathor. The real trouble would be finding people loyal enough to not run off with all the good shit in the places you've discovered.Almost all my characters are self-interested and don't care about SGS at all, seeking to kill Tanner for the love of the game or in the case of my super psionic megamind character eat his brain like Tchort wanted to.
>>3961698NTAthough honestly with the mod I've been enjoying the riot shields protection even on 3 Con. But in saying that I like when putting in 3/4 defensive feats actually gives me reliable defenses. Before that though I've tried muliply 3con and 5 Con builds that worked out Okay at tanking. But I went the other meme route of cracked gear when testing out shield builds and max tailoring/ballistics for tacvests. Spear tanking is the most reliable but stupid thing available though

It just occurred to me Thought Control isn't actually just control over people's minds but influencing their brains. It's altering and manipulating neurons. In other words, it's a form of Biokinesis. What about manipulating the cells itself? DNA even, like Tchort does?

>>3961378I have always had the same thoughts. SGS, provided the Protectorate are dealt with, is easily the strongest group of the south. And the Free Drones are unorganized retards that didn't even know they were being run by a spy the entire time. I wish you could gas them anyways even without going Protectorate. Main problem would be manpower, and SGS could easily get loads of zoners and other vagrants to sign up to be cannon fodder at the promise of admission to the station, just like how the Romans did it with Auxillaries and the like. Then you have the councillor problem. I always kill Gorsky at the end of his questline because he's fucking useless. His in-game stats being what they are is still comedic to me, the guy can't do shit without the player and does nothing but talk about how he used to lord over a pile of shit in Core City, and he couldn't even hold on to that. Gorsky is seriously one of my most hated NPCs in any game. Old Man Jonas wouldn't co-sign any expansion, I imagine. He'd have to go. He's too old and seen too much shit to bother fucking around with matters he'd likely see as not SGS' problem.Vera is a massive United Stations shill, but ironically I think she'd be cool with taking shit over. More trade, more power, more territory, more security. That was her whole reason for wanting to go Protectorate. Ezra is a bit of a wildcard. I could see him either being cool with all of this, or trying to be top dog himself. We don't know enough about him, and he's slightly de-railed. For all I know he might be content in his duties.
Haven't played in years, I wanna do a pure psi build. How many disciplines should I invest in? Will leveling all 4 spread my too thin? Also, how much Will and Int do I need to get max lore?
>>3961378>>3961401>>3961409>>3961704>>3962199>Underrail politics/setting speculation with a bit of headcanonWell I'll be damned, this is my kind of jam.First of all, I gotta say, that what is known concretely is the ending cards/slides and in those the fate of SGS (and you) is stated quite clearly, depending on your choices (I'll list the major routes, obviously various quests change the ending, but the major picture is listed below)>SGS leans more into Vera's ideas and integrates into United Stations/Protectorate ASAP, promting people against it to leave. (Gorsky publicly declares YOU as his enemy)>SGS leans more towards Gorsky's vision, opposing the Protectorate more openly, creating political tension but not outright military hostility (yet), prompting Vera and other unionists to leave (Gorsky publicly declares you as his ally)>SGS continues Tanner's policy of cooperation, but strict neutrality, fostering strengthening ties with Hathor and Junkyard instead (essentially building their own "neutral" power bloc), if I remember correctly this lets you stay on okay terms with both Gorsky and Vera (and by proxy, their "followers" within SGS)>SGS opts to integrate into United Stations, but from with a position of strength/much better terms which equals more autonomy and influence, with the player character eventually rising to the highest administrative position in the south (I think the title was either something akin to Senator, minister or grand ambassador etc.), Gorsky still publicly declares you as his enemy, even if you helped his ascent in Core City. When we ask ourselves what is the best option for south Underrail or more specifically SGS, it depends on what we wish to maximize. If it's stability, integration is easily the logical choice for it. But if the goal is sovereignty or what I prefer, potential. Then Tanner's policy is the way to go, ESPECIALLY if you've allied with the Eels.Cont.
>>3962272And this doesn't even begin to take into account some of the political moves, details or events you can play out for your/SGS's advantage. Both minor and major.>Eliminating the Pirates (and preferably the Serpentborn), even potentially the Mutie refuge>Helping the leader siblings of the Rig to reconcileKilling the Grim Jetters esentially secures logistics around the waterways fully, allowing the Eels (your allies) to exert absolute control over trade traffic, whilst boosting your personal/diplomatic standing with them. While the savages are limited by not being able to leave or exert control over Lemuria's southern bay; killing them along with the pirates essentially leave the ENTIRETY of the region up for grabs in terms of scavenging. If you clear the mutie refuge then even more so (for the time being), though I think that is unnecessary, they are not hostile and can be reasoned with.>Killing Balor/clearing Iron Head campsWhile this doesn't make them disappear, it weakens their influence to a noticeable degree. Essentially the gangs (Iron Heads, Lunatics and Lurkers) are the most persistant hurdle in the south; scattered, but dangerous. Weakening them any way possible allows SGS to make more moves, killing Balor (albeit, boosted with Protectorate supplies) secures Rail Crossing from disbanding and keeps Foundry's position stable.>Eliminating the dronesI think this is somewhat self explanatory. While the Drones are a counter weight to the protectorate in their own right, they are still a lose cannon, a destabilising rot, which if allowed to spread will be nigh impossible to clear out. Deal with them now; knock another threat to the south off the board whilst procuring (diplomatic) favor with the protectorate>Becoming a member of the fun pyramidYeah, this combined with everything already said (and more) will ultimately give SGS the edge in any all geopolitical dealings within the south, through sheer intelligence superiority...Cont?
>>3962282I could go on about more of these details, but I think they are fairly obvious, so instead I'll dedicate this final(?) post to assets, essentially things which this SGS led power bloc consisting of SGS (as the Senior partner), Black Eels (Junkyard/the Rig, who provide the muscle) and Camp Hathor (Junior partner) should focus on securing or exploiting.>Arke Power Station, and even more specifically IRISThis is a given, extra energy is always good, but getting IRIS "on your side", so to speak would potentially allow SGS to even take over Core City in terms of importance. Why? Because IRIS was originally linked to every single RAF (Robot Assembly Facility) in south Underrail. Even if you can't reconnect her to those facilities again, APS already is autonomously capable of churning out hapless amounts of Biocorp droids (sentry bots, plasma walkers, plasma turrets, industrial bots). Not to mention IRIS, even as her earlier version would most certainly be a fount of knowledge in terms of... Well... Everything, atleast in the south. In short, controlling her would be like controlling the keys to the kingdom (or what's left of it anyway).>Black Sea Region/LemuriaAssuming the factions are FULLY dealt with, the only thing to worry about this place is the wild life. Obsticle to be sure, but nothing that can't be overcome with proper planning and patience. As for the rewards? The pirate bay, now depopulated is the obvious first target, a sturdy base and foothold in the area that not only has psi monolith for study, but a fucking destroyer in the center. Sure, it's engine is broken, but I would argue that even that is fixable/replaceable long term. With the resources to be claimed. The Aegis expedition was most notably after the ACORN and that was their mistake because the region is rich with not only tech, but industry. LEMCO for example for the most part seems to be salvageable and besides AS-0, most of the underwater stations seem untouched and undiscovered.
New version of the mod is uploaded. Took fucking centuries screwing around with crappy nexusmods page bullshit to get everything uploaded and written downThe changelog is now being kept up to date so you can see them in full, but pic related should answer the melee feat questions anyone had from earlier.

Failure would mean burn out, but even if that were to succeed, I'd likely quit modding and start plans for a freeware game of my own. Maybe a roguelike version of Age of Decadence's branching design.Someone on the mod page suggested some shotgun stuff that got me thinking, so I may stay in my lane and do a shotgun package instead. Giving Barrel Stare activation the ability for Shotgun Burst to blast THROUGH the close target and hit a cone of enemies behind would be delightful, & Perfect Scattering could become a new alt Featline ala Bloodlust.>>3962334If you don't drop a shout out to ol' WG in the big Invictus speech, I'm gonna give Carnifex superpowers. Actually, that's a good idea.

>>3962350I wish we had an invictus speech.
>>3962350>Was thinking about trying something impossible, like 1 new zone, 1 new enemy variant, 1 associated quest, or die trying.Suggestion! When you ally the black Eels and take down the Scrappers, after the battle the changes to the Scrappers base into Depot A -cell are absolutely minimal; if I were you, I would expand on that and not leave it as much of a stump as it is now. Considering SGS is supposed to have their own "Embassy" in Junkyard post battle. Maybe add a new merchant there etc etc. I see some light potential there which would only require you to augment existing shit instead of creating new shit completely out of the blue.
You have forsaken weaponry and technology. But you taint yourself with genetic perversions and leave your fists unstained with blood. I will show you the true way before you die. Your women and harvests are mine.

Like for combat and warfare. Think of what's going on in Ukraine with war being extremely fucking gay instead of that one epic knife fight to the death that got caught on body camera during it. Waiting around to die from a drone instead of a real fight like a man. It's inhuman. That is the quality of technology he dislikes. The energy shield and grenades are fair game because they're not his actual method of attack and save his life against disgusting methods. His nades are to disorient groups of enemies and are mostly there to just fry robots, of which he has a special hatred for due to their innate inhumanity.
>>3962360>>3962350You could test out arena names for sone simple sequence testing.I think throwing knives, crowbar and shield bash don't have unique names or laser cat use. This would absolutely tear apart strongmen, crabs, and handmaidens but Nagas have such absurd MR and threshold even if you start with a heavy punch to get their resistance down you'll need to crit a full combo to get it down more. Even with drugs to get over 20 STR, I couldn't do shit without an opening heavy punch. Maybe if I specced into it but I'm already two levels away from 30.As it is, expose weakness is more reliable against Nagas, but this ensures the whole dance around into EW cools down is a thing of the past in general
>>3962199My take on the councilors and probability of success: Ezra would immediately cave for a deep caverns expedition. Especially if you remind him that biocorp technocrats have fat prices on their heads. He’d fall in line.Old man jonas could be told of his brother is still down there. He’s also old so id just get pasquale to put some morphine in his food or whatever.Vera is fine. She can be the south and protectorates official envoy/foreign minister. Gorsky would be in core city to be used on an eventual strike against the oligarchs/given praetorian once we win.Junkyard falls under first, then, hathor and rail crossing purely due to geography. Once foundry has its leaders doinked in a horrible smelting accident and dan my old pal becomes the new mayor; the entire south, plus the deep caverns, compound and university are under control. The only true remaining threats are protectorate and oligarchs. Protectorate can be placated by vera and promising them good relations post coup. Oligarchs get pressure put on them by basically the entire economy being sgs run. Hathor, foundry and rig sonars are mine. No way they can continue for long. Either economically rape them into submission or simply just do a decapitation strike with resources acquired from the half dozen facilities and gorsky riling up the drop zone (ingame events have them already mad pissed)The only real credible threat is the protectorate smelling blood in the water after they sense instability but desu they are essentially entirely cut off once core city is done. Vera can get a nice office in Apogee and tell the protectorate we will be independent but have a good friendship. Once they stop getting shipments from core and hathor they will surrender. The entire south by the end of the game is a big wet pussy ready to be fucked. (Jk fruity alien civil war up north time)
>>3962417>Old man jonas could be told of his brother is still down thereis leo actually his brother?jonas doesn't mention onelike mykola denying he has a daughter
>>3962293You know whats crazy? You could literally get deatroyer ceto running again if you got deep caverns locked down. The abandoned waterway keyword search basically says that them and the technocrats in hollow earth were chillin. You could absolutely get manufactured parts rolling up the numerous elevators. Another thing about lemuria is the massive potential for profit and resettlement. Bison, marsh honey, geothermals, blistering shores properties (check out the computer there it basically says the bassalt wall to the east is a veritable treasure trove of resources) all you need to do is get the nigger natives gone and you’re golden. Id imagine the lemurians had a way to produce the medication synthesis juice somewhere in lemco along with a million other bits of treasured technology. The potential really is endless. Part of me thinks that while old biocorp is done the other supercorps are up to no good doing their own stuff. You could bolster the south all you want but then the security megacorp could roll in with a self replication hell robot. Im pretty sure the compound was a joint venture, like the naga sleeve talks about along with iris info. Imagine what their equivalent to core city could pump out.At the end of the day the south is basically like africa so its all just making a kingdom with retards and rocks to an extent. We need to see the north before a full picture can be gleaned, but lemuria made it somewhat clear.
>>3962421Talk to leo and jonas more and it’s heavily implied. Basically they went down there, leo got mindraped and is in pure survival mode, jonas has trauma memory wipe to cope. Genuinely sad.

>>3962464I would've brought up psionic apparitions but you can NO those
>>3962464It's bilocation projection. The graveyard is like a psionic hivemind that reacts negatively towards foreign (aka not baptised by Flotsurmir) brainwaves and releases resonating waves to implode the foreign mind from within. "Ghosts of angered spirits" are the most effective form to take shape and cause more stress.
>>3962444Vivian would get the pregnancy even with ... her... distinct lack of womb and ovaries.
>>3962472Interesting theory.Another unanswered question related to the natives is their choice of drugs. I suspect the "vitality powder" really is cocaine. The balm is something made from the crabs. I have no clue what the spirit potion could be though. Blood mixed with shadow dust?
Look at me. Look at me, bonesmith. I am the end of your people.
>>3962491The crit restoring AP effect can get an extra hit or two in.I like it.
>>3962491lol, the fucking crab hiding in the background killed him
it's interesting how psi abilities manifest differently in animals. The psi-morphs incorporate any material into their biology. Psi beetles seem to form a natural hive mind of sort to defend against predators with some "hives" showing extreme specilization in a school. Jookhela is the only psionic rathound and can make bilocation like clones of itself that kill other people. Psi crabs are so dedicated to electrokinesis they can't be damaged by lightning in any form anymore. In comparison, humans have little to no modifcation to their physiology.
>>3962502What about the rathound in the institute? Seems like they were messing around with psi-animals. Also there could be passive psi effects on animals like how tanner is being a sneaky little nigger
Reeeally feeling like I should just not bother with shields. Having one changed, even when not turned on, attracts EMP grenades and it just doesn't seem worth the hassle it causes, having to recharge all my devices.Besides, they only really help against the things my >50% DR armor already protects from. Unless I'm forgetting something.Does power armor attract EMPs? That would really suck considering it's not even that good.
>>3962502the fire cultists from the sewer dungeon can't be lit on fire and they only wear robes. Ethan becomes old without his necklace due to the "incident" that one lunatic below the O has his senses messed upAzif in general has odd eyesmostly though it just seems people just get affected mentally "usually badly" by psionic use. Lemuria had an oddity that was like a nicotine patch but for psi that can infer addiction even without messing up your brain with a psionic "mentor" gone wrong
You worthless corrupted degenerate. I will break your mind: I will burst your brains from your skull with my hands.
>>3962524Was there another psi rathound there? I think I'm remembering one psionic creature in the pens, but I think I'm just misremembering.>>3962525I mean, it depends. Very few enemies carry EMPs. And yeah it does.Custom bioregenerative metal armor is insanely broken for tank builds.
>>3962525It’s good for fighting savages, animals and if you prioritise “chucker” enemies it’s great, there are literally some areas where there are no naders or you can deal with em ez. If you make a strong enough shield you can negate all ranged bio attacks and poison procs in expedition as well as blocking enemy psi and other nonsense. Imagine if we stole a cryosentinel and rode him around like a horsie zapping emp nades out of the sky. Usually I get one shotted by emp nades from a single enemy after clearing all his buddies out for 20 mins or its some jet ski fuck that gets a lucky initiative roll and rides up and zaps me. We need freezynades.
>>3962527Kharon is also immune to heat, IIRC. It doesn't seem to be an overt physical change but a kind of active psionic effect. And Ethan's condition is actual age from him accelerating his own time to grow older.Synsethete seems to be the one where he has some kind of phyiscal change from his psionics. Azif is a weird case because he has true seeing, same with Eldran who is immune heat too.
Whoopsy daisy.
>>3962199>>3962417Most of this redundant. While SGS is ruled by a council de jure, I'd argue that de facto the executive power lied quite solely on Tanner's hands. In essence if Tanner suggested something, nobody had neither the balls nor the backing to go against his judgement, nor did they need to given that Tanner is one of them AyyLmaos with precog so his decisions tend to always be correct. Also as a reminder; Old Jonas and Ezra, (though present in meetings) aren't councilors per se, more like advisors TO the council. The council only consisted of Tanner (executive power), Vera (representing the civillian matters) and Gorsky (representing the security/military matters). By the time Tanner flees, Gorsky establishes the Silver Hand and you become a councilor through emergency appointment first (mandataed by Vera and supported by Jonas and Ezra) and later through elections (as the ending cards say) you pretty much just take over Tanner in terms of influence;>The moment Gorsky left for Core city, his influence over SGS is effective null and void (I think Tanner predicted all of this and let him go specifically because of it)>Vera is ultimately just an administrator from the north, she herself ultimately appoints you, her influence matters; but she is no threat.>Jonas is a figure head who commands some genuine respect due to his experience, but he is no politician, nor someone with realpolitik influence; another non-threat.The only tangible threat who could potentially fuck shit up is Ezra. Fucker's a former Apex Technocrat, and a powerful telepath. He is dangerous to say the least; you have no ideas about his motives and only hints about his MO. You BETTER keep an eye on him, or better yet confront him and clear the air as soon as possible.
>>3962580I doubt Ezra really remembers at this point. Think about it. Dude became a wandering shroomhead and forgot everything about himself and his life before. Your brain has limited space and rewrites neurons with new memories if they're not used enough. It's how you forget things. Kharon, on the other hand, is surrounded by memorabilia. He's still doing some mutagen experiments. Ezra? Nothing whatsoever. He's completely consumed by the monotony of every day life. Maybe he vaguely recalls being part of biocorp with SGS having the logo and being a biocorp facility, but I don't think that's nearly enough to keep his memory. Which is why he can't for the life of him understand what the fuck you're talking about when you tell him about Wyatt. Maybe if you were talking to Kharon.
>>3962580>>3962417Cont.>FoundryYou don't need any direct espionage action against the foundry and the only even somewhat viable military strategy them against would be a prolonged siege (starving and choking them into submission), nor do you want thug like Dan in charge. I would say "taking over" the foundry in the first place is sort of meaningless. Their isolationist/absolutely neutrality stance works well in your favor if you know how to leverage it. They cooperate and more importantly TRADE with everybody, but have no expansion plans or other ambitions meaning their MO is predictable and keeping the status quo is preferable. However, should you wish to attempt a takeover, the method is actually quite simple and straight forward, use economic coercion; offer them investments and better (but more exclusive) trade deals to undercut the Protectorate and Core City, then leverage that into political influence (like opening a SGS embassy, offering joint planning against the Iron Heads, bribing the local officials etc.). The success of this shouldn't be too overwhelming due to you having an edge in intelligence (local fun pyramid cell), just a matter of time and patience. Do everything correctly and Foundry will stay neutral on paper, but in practice has fallen into SGS's sphere of influence which secures probably the most important hub of industy in the south while denying competitors or at the very least resetting the terms for the flow of resources from the foundry.
>>3962586Ezra 100% remembers his old biocorp days. As does the Dude for that matter. Dude's just spent the past 200 years mainlining mushroom brew and morphine, seeing things that the mind shouldn't really see. He just takes some time to actually remember.Ezra on the other hand remembers his biocorp days like it was yesterday, enough so that he can tell you the exact mechanics and weaknesses of the psimorphs the moment you dump a borer in his lap. That goes doubly so for the ACONR, he gives you the most indepth rundown of it's history and functions, promising that he'll try to get it working without nuking the station. It's more likely that he decided being Apex Technocrat Anton Matveev just wasn't worth it when everyone hates/is hunting down Old Biocorp. That is to say, he'll keep being Ezra the SGS network admin so long as you shut up about Wyatt.
>>3962601I think the worry is not that he'll take the position directly but rather use you as a puppet.iirc (my last playthru was HD release so confirm on this) he admits he tried poking into tanner's brain once or twice in the ending? and immediately gave up. Huge red flag.
>>3962605He occasionally saw weird shit in Tanner's mind from time to time. You can kill Ezra easily enough but the man is good enough to read a Godman's mind more than once.
>>3962586Though possibly, I have to disagree. And I think Kharon, as you mention confirms it to a degree. The only people who've lost their minds are Biocorp staff under the Apexes.>DudeThough not directly stated, it's implied and can be safely speculated that his "visions" have to do with Psi-Monolith fragments Biocorp were experimenting with. Did he inhale them, inject them or ate them? Don't know, and that's not particularly important. But what is that his visions are essentially the same ability as Godmen precog. And as >>3962601 says, not meant for a human mind, a non Psionic at that. In short, he remembers (from time to time), but he is essentially a different person by now.>Gunter VasilicaPsionic, yes. But a mutie who is hostile on sight.>Wit "Thallo" NosekAnother non psionic, though his age and what he was working on suggests he probably augmented or experimented on himself to a degree, lucid at times and hyperfocused on his research, but otherwise completely senile (applified by his paranoia).Meanwhile Ezra, Kharon and Vitek are completely functional, sharp and stable. Trust me, anon. They know what's what and they are dangerous. As to why they've stayed complacent? It's pure speculation of cource, but probably just to hide to survive. But even so, Kharon for example is clearly focused on research to find a cure for whatever afliction is affecting Vitek (Dr D. Slavkovic, another fucking apex) with Mutagen research being his priority.>>3962605>>3962607This is correct, though he says he just saw fragments and images that he couldn't understand, before Tanner pushed him out without effort.

>>3962425Exactly. IRIS alone, combined with Arke power station provides a strong power source, a massive knowledge back, mass production capacity beyond anything in the south (with the exception of Core City) and administrative potential translating into even more industry (access to RAF facilities). While most of Lemuria(n facilities) are thrashed so mostly good for scavenging. As I said earlier, the two key things of importance are LEMCO, which seems to be intact, just inhabited by a spider colony. And the underwater facilities. When you talk with Tod in AS-0 he says to you (while his Dad's persona is active) that one of the domes of AS-0 was fully dedicated to industry capable of producing anything and everything from simple screws to droids. And that one dome was fully dedicated to advanced hydroponics for food production. Now while AS-0 is probably the biggest and most important of the underwater facilities, it's safe to assume other like have similar capabilities given how NFT designed them to be able to operate independant from each other. All in all, securing the former pirate territory of Port Ceto and Port Crag and then LEMCO would allow for a permanent expedition force which can scavenge the facilities and eventually try and find the rest of the undergroudn facilities which are HOPEFULLY intact. Resettling other parts seems a bit pointless and needlessly risky. Strip what you can from NFT and then let the wildlife claim it. Boom, now you have another (albeit more hostile) hunting ground similar to Camp Hathor, providing the things you mention. And once Destroyer Ceto is fixed? Eels with the local naval Hegemon, and it's not even close.>At the end of the day the south is basically like africa so its all just making a kingdom with retards and rocks to an extent. We need to see the north before a full picture can be gleaned, but lemuria made it somewhat clear.Correct. Thank fuck Core City is a logistical bottleneck. Otherwise South UR gets annexed.

>>3962661Interesting thought, but most likely a piper dream. It's pretty safe to assume that full might of the north is on another league with compared to the South. But as I just said, Core City is too much of a logistical bottleneck (for the time being). As for the protagonist themselves, while they foster good relations with the factions, he is still a too far down the chain of command.>You're a "special envoy, representing SGS, by Vera's recommendation", or something along those lines in the eyes of the United Stations, which would de facto probably equate to something along the lines of junior attaché. While your military rank is that of a protectorate Corporal.>Doing any of the Oligarch questlines leaves you with a rank similar to that of a corporalThis unfortunately means that within these organisations you are not even an officer per se, but part of the crew, the grunts (albeit on the upper echelon of them); the only people under you are recruits, laborers etc. So leveraging or pulling rank is not an option, far from it. However that is not to say that the protagonist can't foster good relations, which would be the key here, I think.>>3962667Good call, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least that this specifically was one of the goals of the Tchortist's research, along with longevity, genetics etc. Though never stated outright, it's pretty obvious if you read between the lines that the Tchortist recombinants are biologically augmented humans, the Intitutes first tangible breakthrough/application into their Mutagen/Genetic/Tchort research (barring Eidein himelf).
>>3962688Anon, you're forgetting SGS sides with you on whichever faction you chose between Free Drones and the Protectorate. Functionally, you are Tanner. But far more interested in politics.Captain Grim is a New Biocorp remnant. Archibald and Edmund are both Biocorp remnants, and you can initiate a war between them in which one you get in good with may need a helping hand. Gorsky, as retarded as he may be, can carve out the shitty parts of Core City for himself but I doubt he'd agree to join you for something bigger. Rail Crossing is in desperate need for any sort of protection. Camp Hathor is already reliant on SGS. The Eels too after you take out their sonar. Grim is open to negotiations with Aegis, who he is almost always outright hostile to. You could definitely talk him into becoming a seat on the new Biocorp council. Archibald doesn't give a shit about power by the time you get to him. His son's dead and he has nothing to live for. Ensure Coretech's destruction and I think he'd be a compliant and inactive member. Silas and Edgar can be strong-armed easily by that point. It's really more of a formality. Archibald would control Core City, blocking passage from the North. Green would control the waterways. And you with SGS would control access to one of the last and greatest facilities in Deep Caverns.
>>3962688>Good call, and I wouldn't be surprised in the least that this specifically was one of the goals of the Tchortist's research, along with longevity, genetics etc. Though never stated outright, it's pretty obvious if you read between the lines that the Tchortist recombinants are biologically augmented humans, the Intitutes first tangible breakthrough/application into their Mutagen/Genetic/Tchort research (barring Eidein himelf).Huh, they are.I really wish they didn't have to be obliterated. They were good people all things considered.
>>3962415You could build up to first combo and combine it with heavy punch to get 2 stacks at once, might get you into range of applying the third without a crit. Or use a metal glove.
>>3962700It's really not a big deal. I mean, these are nagas we're talking about. They are the tankiest enemy in the entire game and fists incur 140% of resistance.
>>3962700>>3962704and, well, i beat it alreadytchort is going to die miserably
>>3962694>Functionally, you are Tanner. But far more interested in politics.True, but it's slightly more nuanced than that I think. Even IF (which is not gonna happen) everything went as you said and this kind of political structure is established, creating a "maximally" united south, I'm willing to bet, the North as a whole is still stronger. And would not allow another entity to inherit the "Biocorp" mantle, so to speak. Even if it's just a name, it would be an open challenge against the Protectorate (who btw control MOST of intact Biocorp assets, in the north). And that is not to say about the inner conflicts:>The Oligarchs keep the status quo, but are all power hungry to a degree where true unity is impossible. And Gorsky's silver hand will only complicate the situation. Even if Coretech goes down, Archibald is not going to just cuck down. Nor will JKK just stand by. In fact, it's safe to assume Gunnar Edstrom is probably the most power hungry of them all.>Though Cpt. Grim is easily the smartest and pagmatic of all the pirates, he is still... A pirate. He leads a pack of violent retards who are incapable of anything else but violence. Nor would they cooperate with the Eels, who are geopolitically a much better pick for a choice of an ally.>Gorsky is a lose cannon, who is best kept in check by letting him run the dregs of Core City and a counterweight to the rest of the Oligarchs.Ultimately, the strategy/vision I mentioned above would provide the srongest SGS led south in the long term (with Core City being a buffer zone, for the time being). That at best can fortify, and stockpile to the point where the Protectorate deems war too costly, time consuming and risky. And at worst can integrate into the United Stations whilst dictating the terms of autonomy. The Drones and Grim Jetters (along with the gangs)? They have no future. They are unstable and dagerous loose ends that need to be elimated and their assets supplanted.
>>3962708if the protectorate can be a conglomeration of military gangs, so can the south
>>3962694whoopsmixed up rupert with edstrom
>>3962537How does that work?
>>3962736Can't load a save with crashing wave active outside of combat. Not sure about corkscrew impact
>>3962717>>3962725That is a good observation, but I do have to play a bit of a devil's advocate by saying that the north had both Hexagon and Dis, and considering the vast difference between the North and South you could argue that what constitutes as a "gang" in the north is something far more serious in terms of quality and quantity than something like the Iron Heads, Lurkers or Lunatics. If I had to guess, the Eels would be closest to that what the protectorate started as, and even then they would be couple steps below.Secondly the Protectorate is became what it is now over the course of 20 or so years and last but not least, they are led by Gen. Melek. Now while it is true that we don't know much about him in detail, what we DO know and can assume is that he is highly, HIGHLY competent. And between you and me, I think there is a good chance that he is third surviving Godman along with Tanner and Six. And IF that is the case, you (and by proxy the south) in terms of leadership is straight up outclassed.
This isn't a bad feat by any means, but you really have to go all or nothing against super bots. Then again, it also gives you the means of damaging them in the first place. Feels much better than Expose Weakness though, even if its max resistance decrease is 30% (45% with specc) as far as bare fists go to its 50%. Something funny and particularly frustrating is my force emission getting through were my fists don't.
>>3962756where*ugh
>>3962754I sincerely doubt Melek is a Godman. Their affairs and nature are far too grandiose. Turning the entire South into a clusterfuck for a battery was nothing to them.
Need help from the big brains. Can anyone summarize The Ferrymans philosophy? Is it based off any real world philosophy or religion?
Can't deny this is so much more satisfying though.
>>3962760Buddhism and Daoism to an extent. Buddhism in the concept of burden as something keeping you from enlightenment and being trapped in a vicious endless cycle. Daoism in living simply and close to nature, away from things like technology or grandiose lifestyles. Everyone weighing each other down is more like the Christian idea of original sin though. The Ferryman's ideas, while well thought, are misguided though. For fuck's sake, the people closer to his ideas of how things should be are the Sormirbaeren, who he thinks view the world in reverse order. And the Godmen and Faceless are more advanced than humanity, biologically and technologically. The Godmen had to turn to technology to survive in the first place before whatever mind virus wiped them out.
>>3962759Speculating on the godmen is tediou sand my theory is leans fully symbolism and themes coupled with some second hand evidence. than concrete evidence, but I'll repeat it nonetheless. Please bear with me.>What the godmen are?Simply put, a psionic race of ayylmaos with very advanced technology (which in terms of application is inherently tied to psionics). Notable examples of this are the Psi-Monoliths, the precognition they seem to possess and the ability to rift walk nonchalantly.>Brief history, motion and reason on being on earth? They are most likely the dominant and advanced species in their immediate to medium cosmic vicinity. But some sort of affliction affects them, some sort of problem, which slowly withers their species (and potentially psionic mastery) which in turn has them leaning more and more into material technology. In order to combat this, they've send expedition and/or several through the stars to find a cure with at least one group finding their way on earth (pre-descent). Now what reason ultimately prompts them to stay in unknown but they do descent with Humanity (potentially a bit before even; as evidenced by the fun pyramid); and ultimately due to also reasons unknown there are only 4 living godmen left. (as evidenced by the 4 stasis pods in the institute west wing)Tanner is one, Six is one, two are unknown; with one of them being most likely fed to Tchort and the creature implies when you face it in the crucible.Cont.
It occurred to me this would've been vastly easier if I used implosion and TKP after lowering their mechanical threshold as much as I could, but I was having too much fun and wanting to do this the unga bungiest way.Anyway, I am the ultimate being with no rival potential rival save one impossible existence.Fax and Nex are equals in my mind. This build's psychokinesis (force emission and TKP) surpasses an omni psion skills maxxed with 19 will's psychokinesis. I've compared the damage myself. Still kind of lame the Force Field is weaker, but that's more for rerouting and isolating groups of enemies anyway.
>>3962766They are psionic in the way Dude is. I don't think they can use it like humans and Faceless can. Their abilities and methods were always based on technology, which is how they annihilated the Leviathans. Psionics is heavily and all but outright said to have been caused by the monoliths having some kind of effect on human biology and even flora with psi mushrooms. It's this adaption that elevates humanity and Faceless above the godmen in a way.
>>3962767Oh, corkscrew impact triggers even if heavy punch misses, by the way. Almost forgot to mention that.
>>3962762I know tanner and six(and maybe the player character) are godmen, but what is this mind virus that wiped them out? Are they pretty much what we call fallen angels/Annunaki/aliems in conspiracy literature? I got a vibe he was referencing Buddhism when he described his views, and yeah same thing with original sin. In orthodoxy its viewed as a spiritual disease we can't escape as humans. Idk I'm a midwit though. I love characters like these that take philosophy seriously in games, never find that anymore. Gets the brain musing on stuff. Is there anything else I'm missing? The Leviathan the serpent people worship is some kind of demon/eldritch God in the spirit world right?
>>3962777Evil winds that now whip this temple seek to awaken the dead Godhead. They bring word of his people, his children, and the sickness that has befallen them... that has *again* befallen them. Now, gratingly the many maws of the Tomb open, bellowing deeply. The song is carried back on these evil winds to all corners of the moon.Slowly the voices rise from across the globe. They are irritated at first, and soon they grow angry, furious. But their fury becomes tempered with fear and then... pain. Now the world is screaming and you soon realize why. Deep in your guts you can feel it - a beast stirs. Fueled with all your desires and fears, like a rabid rathound it claws with increasing fury at the inside of your skin, yelping, growling, barking. The pain becomes increasingly intense as the moments pass. Your face and your hands become numb, and inside - only pain. You look up at the sky, it's nighttime. In desperation your hand reaches for the stars. You have to escape or you have to cut your belly open and let the beast out, there is no other way.The vision ends abruptly and you find yourself back in the real world. Collapsed on your knees, tears running down your face, you are screaming at the monolith. You take a deep breath and compose yourself. Maybe what you saw was only a vision, but the pain was real.
>>3962777>>3962779There is a biocorp scientist who fucked with a psi monolith. A bilocation like version of himself eventually made him start literally peeling himself apart to get it out.
>>3962759>>3962766Now for the reason why I think there is a chance Melek is a Godman, we have to take a closer inspection on what individual Godmen represent, what they do and what their potential motivations are.>SixI believe the reason for his annoying space autism is actually quite simple. Because even though he is an advanced being (compared to us humans), he is essentially a fucking space janitor with a superiority complex, left with THE short end of the stick to do clean up; Kill Tanner (because he is a traitor), dispose Tchort (through an intermediary; because it ate one of his kin and now poses a threat) etc. He represents the loyalist archtype who doesn't give a shit about humanity per se and is instead dedicated to the mission, to the bigger picture.>TannerHe would be the stark opposite to this. In short a rebel (and potential traitor, whatever that means) archtype who has forsaken the mission and would just like to live out the rest of his days in mundane peace among the humans. Not hostile, condesending or egoistic. Just someone who wants to be left alone and enjoy "freedom">Gen. MelekWhere he would fit in would be something adjacent to both Tanner and Six. A warlord, dominator, the king in the jungle archtype. Like Six, seeing himself as superior, but unlike him being interested in mission/own people anymore. And like Tanner prefering to mingle with humanity, but unlike him prefering direct action for his own ends. While pure speculation I think this would make thematic sense. We have a loyalist, anarcist and a machiavellian; representing order, freedom and power respectively.>>3962777>but what is this mind virus that wiped them out?As I said here >>3962766and as >>3962779 copies the Monolith vision; It's most likely some form of species wide psionic cancer (simply put) withering their innate powers, forcing them to adopt/lean into material(ist) technology in order to adapt/survive leaving them in a form of civilisational inertia.
>>3962771They might be, or they might not be. We can't tell. The fact that neither Tanner, Six or Dude have Psionic bars would indicate this and in the case of the dude I'm willing to believe it.But personally I'd lean more towards the fact that both Tanner and Six are so psionically proficient combined with their tech that they can "conceal" their psionic powers and/or use them to such a fine detail that we can't separate where tech begins and psionic potential begins. As to your point about humans becoming Psionic purely due to monolith influence? Pasquale at the begining of the game, when prompted quotes some Psionic research which suggests that the Psionic activity in humans is in fact engineered, citing the fact how nuanced its manifestation is in humans (he notes for example how babies or children don't psionically just cause chaos en mass, due to innate suppression, even if potential is there). It's most certain that it's the handiwork of the Godmen, but is it deliberate or accident? Impossible to say, I lean towards the former.
>>3962790The likelihood of it appearing by itself with no outside influence is what's specified as nearly impossible. I say humans became psionic through monolith presence because that's all but outright said how Jookhela achieved its own psionic abilities. Hell, you learn Bilocation from a monolith that passively casts it on everyone in the darkness of the island. They are heavily linked. And I don't think the Godmen were interested in humanity at all. They just settled on Earth because it was one of the nearest habitable planets from where they were from.
>>3962790>>3962792Oh, and that one guy in the Institute who controls the crawlers after interacting with the monolith.
>>3962792>>3962794Alright, that's a fair point. Something to keep in consideration.>And I don't think the Godmen were interested in humanity at all. They just settled on Earth because it was one of the nearest habitable planets from where they were from.Eh, I mean it depends what counts as "interested", if we are a bit nit picky. I think it's something akin or adjacent to observation posts in Stellaris; you observe, study and indirectly guide humanity to gain data and insights in order to advance your own mission (finding a cure for your blight). If a species capable of traversing the stars, psionic mastery and hyper energy (it's implied they have workable dyson spheres) saw humanity as a 0 factor they would have just moved on.However I am willing to consede that the Godmen on earth and what tech is left behind or active in Underrail is nothing but bite sized remnants of their potential maximum. Kinda like 40k's Imperium is a shadow of the Golden Age of Tech for humanity. Which means there are rules and limits to what Tanner or Six can do.
Headcannon/theory:Flotsummir was summoned when humanitys burden was too great. He ate the sun causing the great descent. Godmen fought him along with his void creature minions. They used monoliths on earth to prepare humans as their inheritors since they were losing the battle and to lock down snakes influences. Godmen all died except 3-4. Great serpent banished to shadow realm shoots out a bunch of shadowliths and paeudo influence on earth as final fuck you. Things chill for a bit until biocorp under starts messing with the evil stuff again. Godmen re awaken after their evil shit detectors go off. Tanner betrays them, feeds one to tchort and tries to steal the faceless artefact to open the void and get flotsummir back into the physical realm to finish off earth, godmen and humans. John underrail is incantation of the third remaining godman incorporated with the spirit of humanity in order to kill the betrayer and save le world!

Same bug probably present in other stuff too.>>3962908Could be related to dismantle immunity(affects EW and a few other things) not sure why he has it though. >>3962947>Did not expect anyone to use the specs on that Feat. But I see how that one fits your use case. Acid pistol build is actually insanely juicy. The roots not working on spiders and industrial bots its kind of gay tho.Fun loading a rachet with 9mm acid rounds and using corrosion debuff, or even rusk maker. Its got a lot of cool thematic features. I wish we get chem nades in infusion.
>>3963153Try making a pure war crimes build. I mean throwing down poisoned caltrops, setting up a gas cloud, throwing napalm grenades, and using acid and fire pistols.I had a build exactly like that. I had an infused mutant dog leather with antithermic cloth and wore the tchortist bioscrubber charged to heal in a burning, toxic, and poisoned hell of my own creation

>>3963267Hmm I guess that magnar and some of the snakeniggers get close, he’s interesting but you are right it kind of falls short them being surrounded by goons. Thematically I enjoy grim and cognator, sneaking in and doming em is cool but neither are rly a boss. The bosses need to be structured around fun arenas and special encounters. Abomination is a really good example of how memorable and fun it is. Balor is another cool one but less so.You know what would have been cool? The arena can be entered in with randomly generated enemies and fights, the arena can change: obstacles, hazzards, lighting. Basically what the gauntlet should have been. With unique and rare enemies/loot drawn from a pool. What I'm trying to say is that crpgs can have a lot more than just tough enemy. I want enemies that feel on par with us as well as unique arenas, locations and mechanics. Its why I consistently say that stygs skill is so sharp by the later patches you look at something like utility tower creativity and real time boss compared to early game its night and day and gets my cock stiff for infusion.
>>3963278Ah, you mean make the Arena like the exosuit test site in Heavy Duty with the constantly moving cover.Honestly, that would be cool. Especially if you could fight whenever you wanted.

>>3963280Yeah, imagine there being environmental changes as well tho: fire pits, acid barrels, zap floors, some kind of push/pull forced movement stuff. You could even have like a wave survival thing, a free for all, team battles. Then you have enemy types that are specially made for their specific permutations. Like a sneaky char that uses flash powder and cut throat on you. Ect.Arena was so underutilised imo. It just functioned as a story driver not an actual place you were expected to return to.

>>3963434>>3963435I was going to extend some benefit of the doubt to him being a military officer, but military officers aren't overtly threatening to their own soldiers. It's some leadership thing where treating your own men as the enemy will make them treat you as one, which he basically is to you if decide not to be a bitch. The Protectorate was run by gangs, so his attitude makes sense, but this veneer of professionalism is a complete falsehood. His men are all former Protectorate soldiers. No reason for them to be at odds or different.I'd say his greatest failing is treating the expedition as a military operation instead of a job because, let's be honest, they fucking suck at it. Aegis can't win against a bunch of guys running up to them with no armor when they're armed with guns. At most, they've gone up against the biggest fucking jobbers that are the Free Drones, whose top hitters can get taken out by two auto turrets. I'm fairly certain there's not a single tride and true southern faction they could challenge. I don't like agreeing with the Ferryman because the old man screams contrarian retard, but he's not wrong about Aegis being way in over their heads.
>>3963431Does this require a strength check? After provoking him?
There is something wrong here. Homunculi are not created without purpose.
I never saw energy shield that early, aside killing Blaine early on.
Genebrother?
I would destroy them myself. Wage an eternal war on my lonesome. I yearn for a true enemy to face, and this is it. You were created to defend weaklings and cowards. I would free you, but I can only command you. Know that I love you. For fighting a war you had no choice to fight. For strength none others have. I name you my brothers, and I will save all of you I can.
This is it, brothers! The abominations are at the gates! They are hungry for our fears and minds! We will feed them their own screams!
First try. TC was at 15 from synergy with 155 psychokinesis.
Rest well, genebrother. When the time comes to stop them once more, I will awake you. Decades, century, or millenia from now: I know the key is in the symbionts and the genome.
>>3963465>>3963469Shame that the helmet is pretty much a meme item only good for a few potential Psionic checks throughout the game.
>>3963479styg is a master troll
Come on, he comments on you walking in vents but not you tearing holes in reality?
>>3963479I don't know how over a ten years he only managed to create few good uniques, I can only think about Rathound Regalia, Death's Grin, Cyclop's Eye, Tchortist belts, Tchortist Bioscrubber. How the fuck super steel armour slapped down by 6 int caveman is superior than fucking power armour from the Compound wore by hive-mind super soldiers?
>>3963483Yeah... Which is why he or mod anon better make refurbishment of unique items beyond guns a thing.
>>3963489well, it's super steelshit's fucking expensive
>>3963489Fair point. I'd also add security marine armor to that list, if you wanna engage in jet ski combat more.
>>3963490Refurbished guns also suck for the most part. >>3963493Not really. It gives you slightly better aim and 5 more ap. That's it.
>>3963494Thanks for the double (You), chief. No, but seriously. I think unique weapons for the most part are fine. Sure, they aren't as decked as shit you can craft yourself, but considering the fact you don't need to invest any crafting into getting them, I find them alright. That is unless you are speaking from DOM/Oddity -autism angle.
Is this game any good?
>>3963489Making good uniques is unironically hard anon. Too weak and they end up like the rest of the uniques, too strong and they end up being abused by minmaxxing autists looking to optimise the fun out of the game.Crafting at least allows Styg a somewhat more reliable power progression by locking different quality levels behind different merchants/stages of the game.
>>3963499But you'll want some crafting to at least make repair kits and basic combat stims. And it's not an exaggeration to point out the average crafted weapon outdoes whatever you can find.
>>3963500Vanilla? No. Expedition? 8/10
>>3963501He sure fucked that up.Unless you don't mind waiting until you're level 29 for your literal endgame gearas in DC is the only thing you have left
>>3963500I think so?>>3963499Well on styg defence, unique are fine for normal difficulty, first timer not obsessed with min-maxing and using guides every step won't have issues finish up game using only unique weapons. Some people even beat up dominating without crafting with is pretty impressive.
>>3963501That is true, however some of the uniques just have self owns so drastic that they just become (put this item on for a skill check) type shit.Besides, the way to deal with minmax autists is to quite literally ignore them. For them the only enjoyment of the game is to stretch the game's mechanics to see "hehe, number go up XD". Seeing how much they can shit out damage in a single turn or how much they can tank from a naga protector without issues etc. Quite frankly, these people shoul dbe right at home playing Gacha nonsense, not cRPGs.>>3963507Indeed.>>3963503Oh, I agree. the investment for basic crafting shouldn't be massive. And the changes to crafting in the latest patch were honestly too draconian.
If the game was really made for normal, why did dominating keep getting unique content?
>>3963512I can only think about unique bosses and you them just for challenge and bragging points
Come on, man. You've seen what I can do. I'll keep it as a souvenir but don't expect me to ever use it.
man, heavy duty is fucking short
>>3963448Yes. Int check to provoke and str check to not get squeezed.
>>3963521Welp, guess you learn something new everyday.
I think I might be a hoarder.
>>3963524This is totally not signs of a problem and just this character's level of preparedness.
>>3963524this is autism
>>3963526indeed
>>3963524>>3963525>>3963526Except as much as Styg might moan about it, "hoarding" is completely valid and dare I say expected in the world of Underrail, especially the south. Resources as scarce, quality of life is in the toilet and uncertainty/violence/lack of security are the status quo.
>>3963533Two plasma turrets, two sentries, and one plasma turret on the balcony. No one's snatching my stashes or interrupting Sophie's breeding.
>>3963538>Two plasma turrets, two sentries, and one plasma turret on the balcony. No one's snatching my stashes...Exactly.>...or interrupting Sophie's breeding. What did they mean by this?
>>3963541I'm drilling her leg. It's canon because I said so and one of these days will write it out.
>>3963543Fair enough, though something tells me she'd be either an absolute pillow princess or a starfish in bed, that might aswell work on my own pipe instead. Now, Ladelman's sister Lily on the other hand? A hardcore professional with massive honkers. And Tone even promised to get us a discount. I'd should take up on that offer of some good grinding.
>>3963554When your intercourse is most likely forced, all women are pillow princesses and starfishes in bed. That's why you pay for it.
My wayward kin.Well, let's get to it.
>>3963557Absolutely wasted.
Are the bodies not a clear indicator of how this is going to end?
Now can you tell me exactly what you were thinking?
For all the dooming infusion gets I have to admit underrail, expedition and HD scratched my thirst for adventure and amazement like no other game on the market rn. Styg just "gets it".
>>3963569You are right on the money. Whether it happened as a byproduc/accident, Styg's world building is fucking awesome and the main point why I tend to come back for a new run every now and then. That is what I find the most interesting, not because I can build tweak to an autistic degree and crit 10k into an enemy.I've said this before and I'll gladly keep repeating it with no shame.
>>3963569>>3963571One thing I don't see talked about is how well connected every area of the map is. From the caves, to the underpasses, and to the southern rail itself. Even the water ways make sense, You immediately realize why the Protectorate hasn't taken over when rapid streams make transportation difficult and Core City really cuts off the north from the south.
>>3963489I think what kills most power amor is being too susceptible to EMPs. If it only took half or a quarter your energy away maybe they be better but even then your running out of power a bit to fast for them to be viable turned on all the timeIf this was a main feature for galvanic vests even better but STYGer is bad at understanding how stuff synergizes with each otherI any else can mod it prob something like galvanized gear on the chest slot provides 50% emp resistance draining power and head and footwear provide 25% each. Emp resistance isn't applied to energy shields or jetsall power armor except for industrial suit has the 50% resistance. Coretech suit has -20% emp res to keep similiar to the electic debuff
>>3963574single EMP grenade is deathwish if you have 100 quality plasma core on googles and shield, even at 10 con, its insane. And nobody use energy damage resistance because it's so specific semi-rare damage type compared to mechanica, acid, bio and fire.
>>3963569The biggest dooming is usually about balancing and minigames so I’m not worried about the worldbuilding
>>3963572Well put, and I might add having all that said, the map still leaves this eerie feeling of just how much potentially of the Underrail infrastructure has been lost and just how potentially vast the entire hyper structure it is. What we see of the south in game is but a piece of the entire south on many levels, which is just one fourth of a underground habitat made by only one of the T6 group (Old Biocorp), while getting a taste of what NFT was up to (Lemuria in expedition).I shudder to think what megacorps like Nucleus or Trancendix were up to or are/were capable of.
>>3963581STYG GIVE ME A FULL DARK TERRITORY DLC
>>3963582Heavy Duty was so short. I was sure there'd be some other areas after the compound but there was only the two with spiders and lunatics
>>3963582Another valid point. The compound and the delicate joint research being conducted there is probably the closest (so far) we get to see of the T6 group's "full power". And the starting scenes or "prologue" to HD illustrates my earlier point of abandoned infrastructure equally well. Like fuck me, dude. I wanna see Infusion and what Styg has cooked up with his new and improved engine and whatnot. But what I want most of all is just sheer quantity of new explorative content. The mystery, anon. The mystery, it keeps calling, like a siren song.
What is it that breaks them? Or do I simply see what they see?

Care to test that?Your lack of psionics is proof enough, but I'm willing to go the extra mile.
You know, I swear this guy was psionic at some point. But it really seems like Jookhela is the only psionic rathound
I have defied gods and demons.
What's the matter? Big man can't move? If Styg wasn't a bitch, he'd let you have the ability to kill him.
>>3963618>>3963627This is one of those scitzho moments by Styg, I suppose that at best (when you have more ini than Six for combat) you are able to run away. But since he is invincible, cannot be fought what should havve is some sort of short cutscene (like the one when Faceless attack Praetorians or the institute) where six goes full Fist of the North Star and oneshots you.
>>3963350This would be generally considered generational wealth. You could open a medium sized business, own one of the nicest houses in the city and live extremely comfortably. For example: 5k lets that zoner from coretech questline entirely leave drop zone and possibly set himself up for life.Biocorp limited edition floating tanks are about 15-20k charons so combining that with a few other lore bits and pieces (income stated in expedition, food prices, payment for jobs, acorn price ect.) I would say that 60k would let you rub shoulders with the oligarchs and have a private arena booth. It would be hard to piss that away. It’s essential like being a + tens of millionaire in a modern day western nation.First thing I’m doing with my money post game is investing in aegis expeditions to deep caverns, compound, lost vault, epone lab, university and then preparing gorsky and phreak for a core city oligarch purge/coup. I’d also possibly hold the entire place hostage with master blasters explosives on the support pillar lol
>>3963431His stats and attitude make me think of him as a bit of a napoleon syndrome manlet. He basically doesn’t fight and just middle managers everything.
>>3963478>>3963469I swear this battles difficulty was stealth nerfed, without torch even with good stats and planning it was damn impossible abt a yearish or two ago
>>3963486He does comment on it. For me he said “were you rolling around or hiding in the trash?” I might be having a stroke but I think you can even talk to him about it.
>>3963520It is but it also added a lot of cool interactions and little bits and pieces people forget about.
The adherence to genetic superiority, discipline, and advancement is admirable. If only they didn't rely on such ineffective weapons. Otherwise, this is the most pleasant company I've found besides the Black Sea's natives, however the corrupted they were. Both also have the most breedable women. I can see this place lasting a long time (SUBTLE FORESHADOWING)When I get to writing the one-shot fic for this, I really want emphasize how batshit insane he is while thinking he's the only sane person alive. Contrary to Fax, who progressively loses sight and mind of his original goals of self-preservation until he fully commits to Six's mission just so he can both their brains as he took in what was left of Tchort's consciousness after bursting every neuron it had.

>>3963665You know that no one is touching her lol.
>>3963627You could kill him with C4 charges before, did Stygger patch this out?
>>3963668Most of the T6 did, it was a joint venture headed by Biocorp. Biocorp needed the speciality expertise of the other corps while I would assume the other corps needed Biocorps organisation/leadership/general research, as far as I'm aware the only corps not participating were nucleus and NFT.>Biocorp provided the facility within Underrail and their mastery of genetic, allowing the pasithee program to have a basis of creating the biological clones and cognators themselves capable of linking up>Bionic institute allows the tech integration and research to allow the Exo forces to link up with each other on a material level>Trancendix provides the psioncic research for a telepathy link that allows Cognators and Subcognators to command the soldiers>Security agency provides the rest; the gear, the droids and tactical acumen. While not straight up told to the player's face, it's quite obvious that end ultimate end result for the program is to create a tech/psionic linked up army of super soldiers working in as a gestalt consciousness to be produced en mass. Potentially against nation states of the old world pre-descent, who the T6 had tensions with.
that was easy *nervously chuckles*
There is something here... Something close. I can feel it.
>>3963698what do they eat
I have thousands upon thousands of stygians, Azif.I can pay to kill yourself.
I've been encountering so many breed worthy women as of late.Let's get to it.
My fists can crack super steel. You were a warm up at best.
Your stature looks vaguely familiar...
I was wondering when I'd come across your disgusting filth again. Do you have any idea how much stronger I've become since?
Mind is matter.Your cybernetics are nothing.seriously, this was so brutal for themmy god
Oh shit, this is new
Beauty, progress, and promise. All drowning in the blood they've spilled. I know your intentions weren't as pure as everyone thought. The Institute was innocent. For that, I will purge them. All of them.
So my grand adventure for power fist at 11lv start
Can I make a religious character in Underrail? What are my options, pretend to be a snakefucker? Godman devotee? Gypsy spiritualist?
I swear, I am going to kill you when this is all over.
The psimorphs were expected: this is a biocorp facility.but what in the ever loving hell was this thing
oh well it was actually easy
This is vaguely familiar. Fighting against an endless foe...
Tell me. After everything I've done, do you really think I walked past your garrisons and into the heart of your forces here because I wanted to deceive you?I wanted you to see everything I did before I killed you all first.
Who's next?
Well?! I'm still standing! Do you hear me!
My life would be so much easier if i could get morphine out of poppies growing abundantly
Approach me openly and not by stealth! Die! Die with some dignity! Disgusting putrid metal-faced mongrels!
Their patrols and garrisons will fall more easily than this camp.
>>3963757Literal 0
>>3963796As much as I want to do this, I do not wish to condemn Lora to death.
Approaching me by stealth with clawed fists. You are all worthless insults.
An endless horde of metal homunculi. So much of this place needs to be cleansed.
>>3963796Ive never fought the faceless, despite multiple playthroughs. Are they fun?
Was thinking that trying to take advantage of the Heavy Metal feat would feel kinda restrictive. Mainly in the case when an enemy has a tiny amount of health and I don't want to fire 10 rounds into them. But psi moves actually fill in that niche pretty well, especially since they can't miss so I don't need to worry about whiffing a 95% chance to hit.
Your drill is nothing to my fist and my mind. >>3964011Yes.They're one of the only enemy types that uses chemical pistols. The doctor heals and applies adrenaline even if they've already taken it, which gets rid of fatigue. Gaunts act like crawlers and even wait for you to come out of cover instead of going at you in combat. Centaurs are like tincans but can go from bursting to sledge at a moments notice. Plus, it's fucking satisfying giving them a taste of their own medicine.
>>3964017you rape upo this game so badly, you won't stop until you 100% wipe out map and hoard every item in your house until game crash?
This is why man should've never created metal homunculi.>>3964019kinda
Is that all?
I have mastered the fist. I am its god. The only man who can rival me is one who has mastered time, entropy, mind, and force.
After what I did to your main camp, did you really think you had a chance? By all means, be foolish. It lets me kill more of you.
Are your hands shaking, mongrel?I don't need my mind to kill you with my fists.
Okay, after killing, like, twenty gaunts in the same area, I think they constantly respawn or there's a patrol limit or something.
>>3964048Those aren't gaunts, they're tchortling scanners rearranging your neurons to disguise their identity.
There are a dozen on the other corner of the map.The mongrels are persistent.>>3964058They are seemingly appearing from nothing, but scanners are actually more dangerous
You were a friend of Dude's too. How did you become like this? No matter. There is still much here to do.
It's good to take a break from all the carnage, toaster smashing, genocide, and mutant killing with some fishing in the most dangerous place in the entire Underrail. Very relaxing. Would recommend. And also living here as a survivalist would be like living in Disney world as an autistic manchild.
So this is where Katya found the acid that can melt anything. What fascinating creatures. How the fuck did it get from DC all the way to Ceto?
Anyway, RP blogposting aside, Corkscrew Impact is a great alternative to expose weakness. In some ways, it's stronger because you can apply it to any enemy as long as you get a combo or heavy punch off. For the truly tanky enemies (and I mean almost exclusively nagas), you can't hit like a bitch and still get it off. You have to deal real damage to earn that bypass through super steel plates. It feels like you really are wearing away at your enemies through sheer force, exactly what I wanted to begin with. It only seemed off at first because my first test run with it was the fucking 4 naga fight before I even had expert unarmed. Great job. The only error is an actual technical one with being unable to load a save while crashing wave is active on your character.
You're already dead. Let go of this purgatory. Nothingness is better than this hell.
I had my suspicions. Relax. It's over.
I can feel it.It's here.
I am absolute.
Just take the damn thing. You are one of the most insufferable fucking characters I have ever seen in a videogame. Maybe tell your (((chosen people))) not to show up and randomly start fucking killing people if they don't want the same to happen to them in turn. I did absolutely nothing wrong.
lol, Gorsky is still a massive dick.

SI was rarely useful, would take it much later.went very smoothly from start to finish. praet whorehouse was challenging, but my excuse is that it was my first time playing a proper tank build.
Tanking's real issue is you have very few protections in actuality. Sure, super steel and tichrome give you mech, heat, and energy, but an EMP will still take out a huge chunk of your health because lol charged items. You could carry around different suits of armor depending on the occasion and as few gadgets as possible. I always carry CAU around even on dodgy characters because it's absurdly good against bio and acid. But those two damage types are rare. Tesla armor gives some good electric defense, but has the durability of a fucking pancake and most enemies will also deal mechanical damage. Even spiders can fuck you up like that. Only asshole freezer psions deal enough cold damage to make walking around in bison's worth it. I've played tank characters before. When it works, it works. But oh dear fucking lord does it not when it doesn't. Goddamn fucking acid arm and tentacle skaeders. Asshole goddamn fucking crossbow shock bolts. Coil spiders. Psions. Azuridae.UghThe best tank I ever did was a dodgy 10 agility 10 con siphoner man
just put a galvanic vest on some pla-oh waaaaitmetal galvanic has the worst electric defense of any type
>>3964175If its possible I came up with a fix for the emp problem here >>3963574Though also been coming up with ways to buff Tesla armor as well. I give it 100% emp immunity and when taking electic damage it charges the suit by 15%. Unique charge makes you immune to stunning effects for 2 turns and doubles electro-aura damage as well as the electrokinesis buff; gets reapllied if hit again with (electric) damage. Electro-aura also makes you immune to entaglements when active

>>3964155>thank you mod anonGlad you enjoyed. >>3964226>>3964175I have also been considering the emp problem (biggest offender for me is jet skis), and tanking is often on my mind. Carrying around armor sets is incredibly irritating, but smaller specialized pieces work great - gas masks for example. To this end, I have considered attachments specifically for attenuating dangerous effects. EMPs would be partially mitigated by grounding spikes attached to the boots, but you wouldn't want them normally since they reduce movement capability. A jet ski would have a grounding trailer.>>3962363>Suggestion!It's a very good suggestion and I think I am going to have to make this my mid-term goal. I'm annoyed that I have not come up with a better idea. Screw you.

>>3964359I would think buffing galvanized vests and foam the easiest way to implement it. Since they are severely lacking even when used. I be hesitant to apply emp resistance to E-shields though since that make enemies more a hassle. Especially compond if your not stealthing.
whats full game + dlc install size?

>>3964359When adding uniques become a thing an semi Emp resistance E-shield could one. Even if emps takes half the shield it still be worthwhile

>>3963793>all those bodiescomical
>>3963290Tincan melee is not fun. It is doable, but not fun. The best way to go if you really want armor is nimble can, either run a spear or hammer and take armor sloping, nimble, and body weight training. Alternatively, I've also made a hammer with a vest before. Actually worked surprisingly well, though I play on Expert, not DOMINATING. IIRC, I used regen vest, super steel sheet (even though I am pretty sure laminated panel is probably better), anti-rifle panel, strider boots, and a bulletproof baclava. I balanced my armor penalty out *just* right to be just over 50% for juggernaut. Took 12 CON and bodybuilding. Was mighty hardcore and beefy. I don't think I ever struggled.
>>3964451I was playing tincan hammer and the entire time I was wishing I had way more movement points.
>>3964451>bulletproof baclava
Isn't it weird that styg's balancing mostly revolved around dominating now instead of normal? Dominating's description literally describes itself as an untested, unbalanced piece of shit.
>>3964427They are supposed to be an army
>>3964377Just over 15 GB with Expedition and HD>>3964494one could argue that's a sign that normal is in a balanced state right now, though it's likely more because most of the feedback he gets is from veteran players who mostly play dominating.

>>3964620Play chem pistols, preferably incendiaries. If you wanna cause even more havoc, add poison to the mix with hyper toxicity.

>>3964642That's what you get for not using AP ammo against heavily armored targets, anon. It's literally what they're for.Or you could just... y'know... use an energy weapon instead.
Do I still get the dominating content if I tweak enemy hpbefore you come at me I abhor optimal builds and my shit is half-meme, I am my own diff
>>3964652yeah as long as encounter difficulty is on dominating you'll get the exclusive content.
>>3964651That's a confusing response.Snipers do too much overkill for my tastes. And with spearhead's nerf, I just don't see much of a point when crossbow exists and are even more absurd with less overkill yet still capable of one-shotting most troublesome enemies. AR is just boring. I remember having to constantly repair my SMGs from the sheer amount of bursts it took to kill most things. Miniguns and LMGs are overkill too but at least you can be guranteed to kill everything in the line you're shooting at. Shotguns are great though for doing the same without wasting as much ammo or making you carry so much. The difference between crossbows and firearms is the crossbow is good for practically anything when you get it up and have the resources. Shock bolt crits make the AoE damage crit too, bringing down crowds just like a burst weapon would.
>>3964470>playing meta all the timeWhy do you hate fun.

>>3964738Why?
>>3964742Because the Grim Jetters are a pack of retards who don't produce or provide anything. They only deal in violence and chaos. They are massive net negative to the entire south.Letting them "be" risks the expedition and drains resources, and aiding them risks the entire geopolitical status quo of the south, whilst condemning the expedition to death; say what you want about Chief Briggs; but Professor Oldfield (who dies of a heart attack due to stress once he is released from pirate custody, should you side with them), Marcus and Ladelman are alright blokes. I don't want thewm to die.
>>3964738Based. And I take the mcguffin for SGS and tell the ninja to fuck himself.
Best strength based melee weapon? I imagine spears and sec'ing impale would result in insane damage.
>>3964748You'd be surprised what the king ends up being.
>>3964744But enough about the Protectorate
>>3964746Quite. The moment Aran comes snooping, I'll just deny everything, he gets pissy and always ambushes me on the rail crossing station, or to be more precise; tries to.As for the the mcguffin? I always ultimately keep it.>>3964750?
It's high noooooon.
>>3964752How the fuck do you collapse a jet with a crossbow bolt?
>YOU MUST chase the dude who stabilized SGS and helped it grow into a major player and then welcomed you and was a more than decent boss to you because...the faceless dindu nuffin! they chimped out because of him!>Yes I would vaporize you the second your small talk annoyed me btwname one (uno) reason to side with sixxie
>>3964757Maybe you'll have an opportunity to kill them both and eat their brains.
>>3964758Both? Only reason I'm chasing my nigga Tanner is to see if I can help him out and shake his hand.
>>3964751im being a fag>>3964754it just works
I wonder if the third godman just doesn't give a fuck anymore. Their race is extinct. They're not even people anymore with the amount of cybernetics they have. It's over. No point in defending anything anymore.
>>3964757>>3964761The fucked up thing is that though Six is a giga faggot. He is right, atleast to a degree. We might not know the details, but if Tchort was fed the fourth Godman (which seems more than likely), it needs to be put down. Fucker's dangerous, potentially existentially. Same with the Cube, it's a power source, but I think it's safe to assume that the key questions are:>A power source for what?>Is not recovering the power source dangerous only to the faceless, but to the entirety of Underrail? To which I think yes. I detail my theory about them here >>3962782All in all, I wouldn't be surprised that Tanner's intentions might be pure, but he took a massive gamble/risk by trying to snatch the cube to juice himself up.
>>3964494It's not. It is.
>>3964763>if Tchort was fed the fourth Godman (which seems more than likely)No, he wasn't. He was planning on eating Tanner, and if he had already eaten a Godman, he would know what they're actually called. Tchort refers to them by an old name. You know him by one Six doesn't acknowledge in any way to be them. Why would Tchort use an old name instead of the new one if he slurped on a Godman's mind already? He is without a doubt a baby Leviathan though. Corrupts everything around him, has an infinite amount of minions he controls, and has an overwhelming crushing aura. Gotta give it to Biocorp: they constructed the material in which could birth a god and very nearly did.
>>3964772>You know him by one Six doesn't acknowledge in any way to be them. Why would Tchort use an old name instead of the new one if he slurped on a Godman's mind already?Because Tchort is an incomplete/inperfect being themselves. While Tchortism as a dogma is propagandistic bullshit, there is one grain of truth in there, which is how the creature operates on a biologic level. Entering into states of recreating it's entire genetic make-up to survive. This process takes time. And when Tchort snacked on the fourth Godman, it may have allowed the creature to gain some initial knowledge sure, but only partially. For the danger would surely manifest IF two condition are met:>Tchort eats a godman and is allowed to complete a regeneration cycle in peaceAnd>Post regeneration the creature posessess the cubeThis is why Six, who says that he didn't even originally know about the creature, now emphasizes how important it is to kill this creature. So why this usage of an "old name" instead of calling them by their actual name? Can't say for sure, but ultimately it seems irrelevant anyway. The hollow earth incident created something akin/adjacent to a leviathan that are teased about in the fragments of history regarding the Godmen. An amalgamation of a creature with massive psionic potential, mutagenic ability to adapt and ability to project psimorphism (which is what its minions ultimately are).
>>3964778Anon... The regeneration cycle is just the excuse given as to why no one can see Tchort besides Eidein.
>>3962586t. Ezra
>>3964781Maybe, or the execuse of "I, the glorious Eidein is allowed near Tchort, only because the creature kills everyone else except me, only I can intimately study it, trust me bro." is not an excuse at all.
>>3964782this is just an easter egg, anona really good one
>>3964782I know this conversation, but am I supposed to see something else here? What did anon mean by this?
>>3964785
>>3964786
>>3964790You cast Bilocation on Ezra and the doppelganger it spawns instead attacks you? Eh?
>>3964791noit summons ezra as he's supposed to be
>>3964792"Supposed to be?"As in without the self experimentation?
>>3964620shotties are the coolestchem is the most fun, but stunner and electroshock are also quite fun, firearms are now just really good
>>3964793yeslook at its portrait
>>3964794practical but boringStunner is so good I wonder what the point of crafting your own is beyond having a weapon until you get it.That 150 hacking requirement is fucking absurd
>>3964795except this same fucking portrait is used by a dozen other NPCs all across the the game for fucks sake.
>>3964798goddammit, anon
>>3964797150 hack was to gate it off from people rushing it I guess
>>3964799>"Hehe, random NPC's are actually Ezra, hehe. Funny easter egg, hehe."Get the fuck outta here.
lmao
>>3964800that's so retarded though
>>3964803It is one of the best weapons in the game to be faaaair
>>3964805so was what you could craftand then he gave that an arbitrarily high skill ceiling too
>>3964806The crafting thing is fucking dumb how it is right now.
>>3964815You tell me >>3963505
>>3963578I'm also dooming about the ost
Is the Rancor really better than anything you can make?
>want to try an energy pistol>know chemical is better>fusion cannon is the real gigachad energy weapon and requires a big brained and strong bodied super kino stat spread>also want to do a brainlet just doing my job shotgunner buildheeeeeeeeelp
>>3964861Fusion Cannon gigachad with a side shottie.
>>3964864Fuck yes.
There is no proof that Ezra was an apex technocrat.
>>3964861>>3964864>>3964880Would miss out on heavy metal's nearly 50% damage bonus. But you could probably swap in a sledge or a minigun just to activate it when need be.Speaking of shotguns, combat or regular?
>>3964835Only combat shotty that has everything you could possibly want. Large Mag with 10 shells, 20AP for base shot, burst percision and +1 busrt shot when refurbished. Its just to bad you need to console it in to enjoy it before DC
>>3964861There's almost always going to e something that's better. Energy pistols are fun and look cool. Electroshock is great, stunner is great, the rest of the uniques are mediocre but look cool, plasma pistols are fun overkill.
>>3964915Nothing is better than the fusion cannon in this case.
Shoddy Shotty, my beloved
The mushroom cove psi beetles on dominating have to be one of the hardest encounters of the game thanks to the damn bugs
>>3964898Take a hike, Dr.
Tyranny or Despot?
>>3964974Tryanny all the way and could forgo picking full auto with it as well if you don't like spend too much shells. Despot ammo count is the biggest killer and -accuracy also hurts if you want to do short barrel. Extended tube is practically mandatory for it unless you use 2 shottiesI usually preferred the short barrel tryanny with gun-nut specs to bring up to despot damage.
can someone tell me the logic of being unable to shoot someone right in front of you but being able to shoot them when they're a foot away?leading shot is retarded
>>3965095Have you ever led a shot before? Even in like... Asteroids or something?
I wish there was a channel lightning psychokinesis move that uses up all AP on a single targetI would seize Six and incapacitate and subdue him with my power
I remember the first time I did this. I just snatched the Fusion Cannon and ran. This time, I'm taking everything.
How looooong, did you have to wait for meeeee? You can't think of yesterdaaaaaaaaay. I got intooo a fiiiiiight. Without yooooou, and I couldn't win. The fuckeeeer had a goooooood taaaaaaaaaaac veeeeeeeest
Exosuits at least give you MP. A shame they suck for tanking
This would've been beyond the cap in the past, especially considering how I'm planning on getting my int up to 12, but the new insane crafting values incentivize more investment.I wonder if I can craft a 180 quad super steel armor set with this before lvl 30
>>3965251Yeah something tells me Styg never thought this one through.
>>3965275pfffffffffffffffffffffffoh my fucking god
>>3965275>>3965277it would normally be 187, which is perfectly reasonable and still high enough that you need significant investment in int and mechanics
is 4chan shitting itself for anyone else?
>>3965275>int needs a buff>stug achieves it via nerfingseems on brand, and no more 3 int meta troglodytes crafting all the highest tier gear around midgame :^)
>>3965295It's still weak as shit. It only benefits energy pistols. Chemical too, if you really count crafting feats. I don't acknowledge it at all. It's like when psi slots first came out and the max you could get was fucking six.
>>3965295dw anon, just 160 mechanics and 8 (base) int, you can craft your endgame armor (crafting bench and hypercerebrix also required)don't know if any build really wants to go full tin can nowadays.
I think the worst part is if you sought out the refining data, you likely locked yourself out of crafting anything made out of super steel
explain this to me
lollmao
How good are greaves?
