IF is just ill designed for more complex fights. In typical ARPGs if the enemy is stronger than you, you can play better, react faster or maybe even flee and kite. In typical turn based RPGs you should be able to overprepare before a difficult encounter, or farm resources and XP in the worst case. In IFs you can't do either and the game forces you to follow the predetermined path and pick one of a small number of possible actions, and then punishes you hard for failing.The only IF game that is being widely praised for the mechanics is Aura Clash, and that's because Cultivator-anon not only keeps to his initial design while enhancing it with each update, but also keeps the game from going too hard on your ass.Funny thing is he was a newfag who discovered these games after our threads were already long established and the same newfag managed to avoid every pitfall in the IF design.

Some of their points are hidden behind the Thunderfaller being a girl, and what's even worse, you are hard pressed to find Cursed points without getting a penalty from some other kingdom. Ironically, some of the good sources of them are during the Stallion trial so long after you get your boon.

Why, after taking literally every single Seven-positive option in the game, is he still gritting his teeth like it's somehow an affront to his very being to sing with her again? I've noticed a lot of these little, incongruous parts.
I also feel like Oriana just hasn't... done all that much? I think a few scenes of her doing manager stuff would be good. As it is, I don't really know what I'm paying her for.

I also think that Aoyusumu with Light/Darkness and Thunder as the third element is possibly the most thematic build to go for. You cannot represent the heavens any more. And speaking of POMA, I will say, despite being overall pretty dogshit, the ruote where you play a good MC, romance AI, watch her get iced, and then become schizo and evil in an attempt to revive her and follow Tang Wei's path is kino. Except I have no confidence that Nicky can pull it off. The whole plot about real cultivators entering the planet from the outside just kind of messes everythign up.
