dude why is act 1 SO hard? im on normal difficulty. BG3 was nowhere NEAR the challenge of this at any point and I'm pretty sure I played through that on hard mode. also good lord these captchas are a new level of awful since ive last been on 4chan
>>
It expects you to exploit every possible advantage and only do content for your level, which means doing everything to squeeze as much xp as you can. You also need to upgrade all your weapons and armor every time you level up, not doing that only makes things unnecessarily harder on you.

>also good lord these captchas are a new level of awful since ive last been on 4cha
https://pastebin.com/8SjK5PMs
This monkey script makes it more bearable.
>>
so, will Divinity redo the classic Larian "act 1 ea thats super polished followed by lacking act 2 and 3 that get slowly patched up but never will be as good ad act 1" or will they not ea it
>>
>>3969437
They made giant piles of money and critical praise from doing that for their last two games, so why would they learn otherwise?
>>
>>3969437
so tired of larian and their frontloaded games

game journalists are none the wiser because they only play chapter 1
>>
>>3969044
It's easy, you're just retarded
>>
>>3969044
BG3 doesn't have the ass backwards armor system so there's that. If you want to make act 1 a breeze.
>Make everyone a physical dps
The dog shit armor system is 2-3 extra hp bars before you deal actual hp dmg, and if you split dmg types you'll have one side doing nothing when they're attacking the higher armor type. Focus on one armor makes fights go by faster and you can get to cc the enemy faster.
>Why physical
Because Larian are a bunch of retards and made it so phys dmg isn't reduced by anything only magic is. This matters more in act 1 since all the magic amps are tied to feat, which means deep lvls before magic comes online and that doesn't happen in the early game.
>B-b-b I
Doesn't fucking matter what you, or I did (play a mixed party through act 1 on tact) phys dmg is objectively better than mag dmg. So much so that when the EE of DoS2 come out they had a whole section of the patch notes highlight how much stronger phys dmg was, and all of the nerfs to phys skill across the board.
>Kill everyone
You don't go back to earlier acts and I already mentioned how important lvls are. You're just wasting exp, and sometimes skill books if your lvl is high enough if you don't
>Gear,Gear,Gear
If I remember the percents right, a lvl 1 wooden shield has 15~20 percent less armor value than a lvl 2 wooden shield. Always update your gear every time you lvl even if the current gear you have is rare or unique.
>>
>>3969469
Magical DPS has a lot more CC potential though doesn't it?
>>
>>3969469
You are repeating shitty, outdated meme advice.
>if you split dmg types you'll have one side doing nothing when they're attacking the higher armor type. Focus on one armor makes fights go by faster and you can get to cc the enemy faster.
Enemies have different ratios of armor depending on what type they are: warriors will have high physical armor, but are weak to magic. Squishy mage types will be resistant to magic, but weak to physical damage. Rogues will have a moderate amount of both, but not the focus of either.
The point of a balanced party capable of inflicting both types of damage is that they are flexible and versatile and able to efficiently deal with any type of enemy. Being hyper-focused on one damage type means that you'll be more optimized against half the enemies in the game, but weaker and less effective against the other half, which you could otherwise easily damage and crowd control with the damage type you didn't choose.
>Because Larian are a bunch of retards
Yes.
>play a mixed party through act 1 on tact
I've played a mixed party on tactician for the entire game, and imo it's more fun, as well as perfectly viable. It allows a more interesting party composition, and also helps to distribute loot and make use of different unique items better.
>Kill everyone
This is shitty munchkin advice for what's supposed to be a roleplaying game. You're given the choice to be a greedy selfish dickwad (indeed, the plot encourages it), but you also have the unstated choice to not do that as well, and you can still finish the game just fine. Hell, you don't even need to accept the help of any of the act 2 source masters, if you judge them to be wicked and a malign influence. You can reject all of them and still finish the game.
>Always update your gear every time you lvl even if the current gear you have is rare or unique
You can upgrade your uniques to match your level, so they're viable for the entire game.
>>
>>3969437
Yup. The second game will be cancelled.
>>
>>3969499
>You can upgrade your uniques to match your level, so they're viable for the entire game.
This is only available if you activate it from the gift bag, which disables your achievements because Larian considers it a cheat.
>>
>>3969346
This. The game is designed for you to counter bullshit with bullshit.
>>
>>3969741
>which disables your achievements
There was once a time, before cheevos, when we made up our own achievements for ourselves while we played games, and we did it for our own personal satisfaction, not for a badge on our Steam account
>>
>>3969768
Sure, but if this was the way it was intended to be played, they would have patched it in normally like they did with the new armor sets. Instead it's an option that disables the 'chieves because this is not the intended way to play, they want to force you to make tradeoffs. Of course you can also game the system by selling some equipment you particularly like to one of the traders on the boat and it'll upgrade when you move to a new area where you can buy it back at a higher cost.
>>
>>3969790
I like to play by using exclusively uniques, or plain white items in each slot, and I buy new plain white items each level up. I refuse to use the garbage random item system, and vendor 100% of it. Getting rid of that shit was one of the very few things BG3 did right.
>>
>>3969741
Who gives a shit
>>
>>3969822
"You can just cheat" is something that goes without saying for any game.
>>
>>3969790
>was intended to be played
vanilla game lets you 1hit KO bosses by throwing chest filled with stuff at them, Larian didn't balance that game at all. I dont particularly care for that giftbag which auto levels ur items but vanilla system is stupid i wanted to kms when playing solo with full party, dont think i could make more annoying itemization system even if i tried.
>>
>>3969832
Being able to break the game is part of the intended experience. Cheating is not.
>>
>>3969833
in both cases u make game easier but by abusing exploit with chest makes playing it completely pointless might as well use cheat code, also if u really care about chevos use script extender everyone should use in 2026, that game is only playable with epip for item multiselect anyway

>>3969044
Buy and steal all the starter spells and experiment with different combos. Original Sin has the most synergy between skills you'll find in a CRPG.
>>
>>3969833
People used to use cheats for fun all the time. Who fucking cares in a single-player game anyway?
>>
Will there be sex with female elves though
>>
>>3970428
Best I can do is a lizard
>>
>>3969044
either play as an elemental build early game or have a varied party since you have enemies that shield physical attacks and magic. if you play as a knight, then you'll have a bad time because a lot of early game enemies have physical armor

better
>>
>>3970405
Yeah, go ahead and enable those cheats if they make it a more enjoyable experience, I just thought it was a bit funny for someone to talk about using cheats as a default behavior.
>>
>>3969044
i found bg3 early game honor mode harder than dos2, but then it becomes easy as shit once you get to level 4/5-ish
dos2 just make sure you aren't doing shit you are underleveled for and make sure you are spamming CC whenever you can. The combat is heavily based around that
>>
>>3970486
I might accept elf females getting fucked by dual-penis lizards
>>
>>3969044
Restart the game on lone wolf and steamrole everything with pure Phys or mage builds. Undead for extra ease.
