I have a game i remember that I'm hoping actually exists, There was a CRPG I remember playing that was inspired by D&D 4th edition. I don't know if it was officially licensed, but if it as, it's not listed on wikipedia.

Does anyone know what game it was? Or am I hallucinating games that don't exist?
>>
No idea, and I've been PC gaming since 91. Ask AI. There are a couple games I saw when searching d&d 4e inspired video games, none of them rang a bell to me.

Can you describe anything about it? Top-down like Knights of the Chalice, isometric like Baldur's Gate or Fallout? Side-view like Darkest Dungeon?
>>
Also a time frame would be nice. What years are we talking about?

I've tried asking AI, but none of the games it named were what I was looking for.

Not really, I remember it had pretty bright colors, you started in an inn I think you were escorting merchants at the beginning of the game and it was 3d (i.e. not sprite based).

I think Isometric.

pretty sure it was after 4E Essentials released, but I don't remember if it was before 5E's release. So I'd put it some time between 2010 and 2015.

Sword Coast Legends and Pillars of Eternity released around that time. Pillars is pretty popular around here though, surely you would have seen something about that. Not sure if you're a reg around here or not. Don't see much talk about SCL though, maybe thats it, but its listed on the d&d site, so maybe not.
>>
>>3972716
Not either of those, SCL is more Diablo than NWN. I have Pillars, but it's not what I'm looking for. Thanks for the suggestions though.

Conclave. You're looking for Conclave. There were no official D&D 4E video games that actually used the system, the closest was testing Neverwinter.
>>
>>3972727
Or it could be Daggerdale, but Daggerdale was a total piece of shit. Conclave is the only game that actually took from 4E's rules in that time frame.
>>
>>3972727
It was most definitely not conclave.

>>3972734
Not Daggerdale either. Though I may have played that one and it was indeed shit.

Is this dnd 1e? Looks like pf1.
>>
>>3973146
It's 4E. PF's main artist did some covers for 4E.
>>
>>3973368
Right, explains the similarities.

You have to be 18 to post here.

Speaking of artists drawing for tabletop, I wish Mark Smylie did more work.

>4E
>built for vidya adaptations
>never got anything of note
>>
>>3973964
Is it? It's certainly not well made in that regard
>>
>>3973984
Nah, it really was geared towards that.

>second wind as self-healing
>abilities on cooldowns different from just "per rest" like At-Will, Encounter, and Daily powers
>cantrips and equivalents so casters have something to do beyond basic weapon attack

Debatable point is arguing everyone got turned into a caster of some sort, but I'd say that was more standardization of the power format.

This and arguable if d20 (4e) is the way to go for a computer and ttrpg. Everyone has a smartphone, so why not use fun formulae?
