How does the recently released Beta stack up to the Mass effect games so far?
>>3973729meant of gameplay is the most boring version of the most boring genre (over the shoulder 3d person shooter)the gunplay is legitimately some of the worst I've ever seen in my lifebut they are going all in on hot wifusyeah, it's GOTY material
There was only one reviewer who brought up that the dialogue sounds like Andromeda part 2. It gets very cringe.
>>3973729>How does the recently released Beta stack up to the Mass effect games so far?Dialogue and the shooting are underwhelming from what I've seen, but I'm still optimistic they'll improve on both. Just like Exodus, it may fill the ME-shaped hole in my cold dead heart, but I was already burnt once by Andromeda, so I'm just watching from the sidelines.Good pick of potential waifus tho.
lmao, biowhores who hate rpgs are still on this board?
>>3973899It's liasion in the books, but ok
>>3973899>It's liasion in the books, but okCan you be any less clear? You mind the usage of the word "waifu" or what?
>>3973729its awful and anybody that says otherwise is a shillI don't know how any of the writing and dialogue got past the draft phase
>>3974300>I don't know how any of the writing and dialogue got past the draft phaseIt's easy>owlcucksThey will apply to bg4 with this shit game
>>3973729did owlcat use unity again?
>>3973729both this and exodus look extremely underwhelming. i hope an extra year of development improves them by a lot. i have more hopes for exodus since it'll at might be a cool space opera with lots of aliens, as opposed to le gritty "hard sci-fi" with dirty spacemutts in a mundane prequel story about inconsequential shit
>>3974566>it'll at might beit might beat first i typed out "it'll at least be" but i don't know that for sure
>>3973729I´m looking forward of this doing well honestly. I liked the first 3 seasons of the expanse so i like the setting and premise already. I like the tech noir visuals and vibe though i know very little of the actual game. Like, i know you can get Miller´s outfit but IDK if there is a "detective" like Job/class, if there are cases or if you can play a part in rebuilding the station. It may be a detail for some but i always enjoy the build/administrate your own town feature on my action games. I like that it´s a TPS though.
>>3974588>IDK if there is a "detective" like Job/class, if there are cases or if you can play a part in rebuilding the stationNot to burst your bubble, but I'm 99.999% sure you won't be getting a detective class or have any base or ship building whatsoever. This is an action RPG in the vein of Mass Effect, where focus is on dialogue, decisions and consequences and, most of all, shooty-shooty bang-bang. If you're looking at space city builders with some story, you've got the likes of IXION for that:>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RhTXyUERugQNo recommendations for space detective games tho.
>>3974661I've heard Ixion is less of a city builder and more of a narrative driven game that throws curveballs you can't really prepare for.
>>3974687I suppose you can think of it like that. The closest thing to it would be Frostpunk, but at least Frostpunk had endless mode added in one of its DLCs. It's still worth trying out IMO.
>>3973899>shipgirlLiterally a girl made to be shipped with MC (white male)
>>3973729The dialogue is absolutely terrible. I hope they can rewrite the whole game in a year (lol) if that's what they thought was worth showing.
>>3973729Any aliens to fuck or is this a flop of made by people who didn't understand Mass Effect?
>>3974687>>3974750Ixion just recently got an endless mode I think, but yeah it's a lot closer to a narrative city builder where you try to shore up against semi-unpredictable nonsense. The game isn't hard but there are a few moments where the situation goes so fucked it's full damage control. Great soundtrack though, and the lore and writing is quite nice.
>>3974854>Ixion just recently got an endless mode I thinkThere's nothing online mentioning endless or sandbox mode, so you've likely mistaken it with some other game.>Great soundtrack though, and the lore and writing is quite nice.We agree on that. The ending of the game is also very disappointing but I particularly want to commend Chapters 3 and 4. That's where IXION was at its peak from a gameplay and narrative standpoint, with the former being a whodunit in space, and the latter was surviving the encounter with a cosmic horror, both of which I hope to see in The Expanse in a way:>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RMXKdCLizws>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-VwbNcir-cg
