RPG games are the easiest genre of games. Just put them on “normal” difficulty to start with instead of “stupid hard”

You can choose anything from tactical to third person shooter RPGs, from fantasy to scifi. What strikes your fancy?

Lands of Lore, or some SNES era JRPGs like, say, FFVI, Terranigma or Tales of Phantasia.

Wasteland 3
Baldurs gay 3
Dragon age origins
New vegas
Vampire the masquerade bloodlines
Mass effect
Deus ex hr/md

The most beginner friendly RPG I can think of that's entertaining, while not being complicated, is Chrono Trigger.

>RPG games are the easiest genre of game
tourist here. i bounced off every single dnd-based game i ever tried. unironically i couldn't make it past the opening dungeon/beyond an hour past it in these games:
>nwn 1
>nwn 2
>MOTB
>ToEE
>bg1
>bg2
you open the game and there's like 6 races, 30 classes, 30 different skills per class, and also attributes like strength and agility and you're supposed to know what the best skills and attributes are for your race and class or else your character will miss 90% of attacks and do 5 damage on the attacks they land.
seems like these games give you 10 000 options and 9 000 are noob traps.

nah, rpgs don't necessarily need to be easy. as a shitter i'd tell op to try
>mass effect
>alpha protocol
>witcher 1-3 since he clearly wants to try them
>kotor 1&2
>vtmb
>deus ex hr
>original deus ex
>planescape torment
>some basic jrpg shit like expedition 33 if he wants to see how the east does it.

This game isn't even hard. All you have to do is not waste points; stick to an archetype and the game is easy

Most of those games you listed first also have pre-made characters that you can then start with (just change the portrait and name to something you want) and off you go

The best JRPG of all time is also extremely beginner friendly.

All of the games you listed were from the era when games had a comprehensive manual that explained how things worked and offered suggestions and guidance. I, and my friends, played BG as children and figured it out, it’s not that complicated. The only one on your list I wouldn’t recommend to a new player is MotB since it’s a high level expansion pack meant for experienced players (same with BG2, you need BG1 under your belt first) but otherwise I don’t think any of those are that complicated. ToEE can be fairly obtuse I suppose, maybe that ones not a good first pick.

Start doing nyt connections and wordle daily.
No more than 3 minutes until you guess something.
>seems like these games give you 10 000 options and 9 000 are noob traps.
You're bad at dealing with unknowns and just need to brute force and train yourself to get over it.
Or you're retarded, but I think it's more likely that you're trainable.

>brute force and train
Not having that as a distraction might be the point of "beginner" roleplaying games.

Those games are meant for literate young adults. You should try games that are designed for children like you. Try starting out with Tic-Tac-Toe and Hopscotch.

When the game first released a lot of people's build could not survive Depot A or Tchort was too hard for some builds like crossbow. That is how it got the reputation of hard. Better knowledge of the game and patches changed since then where it's not the same level of difficulty. Still to this day, the game is unforgiving and even if you know what you're doing, most builds can easily die to some piper with a sledgehammer right around the corner.

I got into cRPGs with the introduction of Divinity Original Sin. I think those games are very beginner friendly; they have no complicated pathfinder or DnD rules.
