Does anybody care about this trilogy at all? I just gave the first game a shot and it was painfully mid. The sheer number of overweight and brown NPCs also invoked feelings of repulsion within me.The other two games seem to make improvements so I will probably give them a shot.

They're turn based games on a grid that are linear. Maybe there's some good user made modules, but that's the extent of praise I can give to that trilogy. Play the Sega Genesis game. Sure there is a bit of a grind at the start of the game, but it's a more interesting game. You gain reputation so you can contract shadowruns from different Johnsons, get new contacts so you can buy things like fake corpo IDs and items that force open MAGLocks. Then there is the whole Matrix mechanics as well. Shadowrun on the Genesis is the complete experience. The SNES game is great as well, but it's more of a point and clock adventure with combat in it. It doesn't follow the rules as closely as the Genesis game does as well.
