I've been craving an Xcom or Xcom like experience but I already played original Xcom Enemy Within, X-com 1994 and Xcom 2 vanilla on completion.

Out of all of these, what should I play?

>Xenonauts
>Xenonauts 2
>Phoenix Point
>Modded Xcom 2
>Something else.

I never understood you niggers that look for opinions without even trying to form your own. Play the game faggot, maybe you like it maybe you don't.

XCOM 2 with WotC DLC. It's not a wholly different experience but it is a superior experience.

Battle Brothers.
Otherwise just wait for Menace or something.
>>
>>2103995
King Arthur: Knight's Tale
>>
>>2104003
it's jank and more frustrating than fun
mostly cause there's no real cover mechanic nor any other defensive options. Lategame you just crawl around the map sniping off enemies before they see you, or else get oneshot by a rocket launcher; the sequels also give common enemies granade launchers that shoot over walls and psychic detection to see you through walls

Phoenix Point has a similar issue lategame

Is Phoenix Point actually good now?
I remember playing it on the GOG launch and being very disappointed in it.

Its mediocre. Some nice ideas and concepts buried beneath poor implementation and frustrating gameplay. The Terror from the Void mod improves a few things, so you want to try that if you do play it.

Battle Brothers.

You're a medieval peasant who starts a mercenary band in a low fantasy world, you have to vet out recruits, arm them, level them up and take on other bandits to loot and upgrade your equipment. Its a turn based strategy that's focused on weapon and personal skills while it also has an ironman mode so loses and comebacks are a huge aspect of the game and managing your supplies and location on the map is a big part of the game.

Its got enough of a similar gameplay loop and stakes while being something different enough to get lost in learning something new. Its style is kind of off putting at first, but you get used to it.

>Phantom Doctrine
Seconding this OP. It definitely hit the right itch and the right feel, while focusing on slightly different but also the same stuff. Try it if you haven't, its an underrated gem.

Phantom Doctrine is pretty good. Espionage, cold war. Wish the Dev team didn't fold.
