Indie turn-based tactical XCOM-like with lineage mechanic just released. Your troops make babies who inherit traits from their parents. I tried the demo and thought it was comparable to Fell Seal/Symphony of War gameplay quality. Anyone tried the full version?
>>2120715I want to have anal with every character in this game.
>>2120715Been playing it for a bit, and so far I like it. The difficulty does seem to ramp up really hard after the first chapter. Between having to keep the squad rested and healed while also having to send them on enough missions to get XP so they keep up with the rising difficulty is a trickier juggling act than it seems at first, especially since the deadlines for the story missions are pretty tight and if you don't have a squad leveled enough to take those you're shafted. Also losing units is very costly because you'll have to spend time getting their replacements up to snuff. I literally just finished a mission where I had no choice to send out three units who were already at like 60% health, resulting in the death of two of my children and my son in law pulling out the win with only 30HP remaining. Shit like that is hard to claw back from because not only do you need to spend money to heal and rest the survivor but also to incubate new children to fight, who then also need to be trained because they'll likely be too weak to take on the missions you're dealing with. With how limited time and money are, that's just not feasible. Even if you don't lose anyone, you're still losing stamina so your characters need to rest up, and you're almost certainly lose health since armor is so worthless that taking HP damage is inevitable, so you also need to heal that. Having a larger team helps with taht because you can have some dudes rest up while the others go on a mission, but then you're also spreading your XP around which means weaker fighters and thus harder missions. It's quite possible all of this is just a skill issue since I've only played for a few hours, but it does feel that there's a lot of pressure to do everything perfectly, and once you start losing you get into a downward spiral that's hard to pull out of.
>>2120814When I first noticed this game I could swear I've seen this exact art style in some porn comic, but I can't put my finger on where I saw it before.
>>2120835You and me both. We are most likely repressing it because it was something horrific. Usually female authors draw this anorexic style and it's usually guro, snuff or at least impossible anal penetration.
I love my retarded sons. Honestly really enjoying the procedural generation for creating attachment and personal narratives. Created my own good looking character and was forced to marry this ugly look random generation dude, but I love me special needs boys. They left the incubator too early, but they try their hardest.
>>2120898>was forced to marry this ugly look random generation dudeDon't know if you already realized this but you can fully edit a character after marrying them, so even if your options all look like hot garbage you can make them more presentable after the fact.
>>2120903Yeah realised that after. Dunno if I would or not though. I kind of like seeing how it combines yours with theirs for the kids.
Needs correction.
>>2121199For me it is her sister.
>>2120835Same, I have definitely seen this artstyle somewhere...
>>2120829>armor is so worthlessHaving played some more, I take it back. Armor is VERY good if you build specifically for it. If your build doesn't support it, it's still pretty useless though.
>>2120835Are you talking about an earlier 2000s porn comic? Because that's what I'm thinking of as well. Can't place it but it's very familiar
>>2121441Yeah my vanguard is insane. Generates armour through every action and deals damage with that armour.
>>2120715Looks interesting. Always like some CK mechanics my games
>>2120715This game's art is quite possibly the ugliest thing I have ever seen. It is repulsive in a way even tumblr noses and bean mouths don't cause me to feel. I truly hope whatever porn you freaks are imagining does not really exist and that you never recall it if it does.
>>2121595You are weak.
this victory music's a bop
>>2121645The soundtrack is good but the tracks themselves are too short and repetitive IMO. I'm also not a fan of how every screen has its own music so you can have one track playing, then another plays for like 5 seconds while you click through a victory screen, and then it gets replaced by another track immediately.
hows the story? I played the demo and felt like it was just a backdrop to the gameplay
>>2121645>tfw I heard this track for the first timehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8SO4YJErc4
>>2122338Yeah I'm curious to see how it develops as well. The set up, custom character and gameplay loop makes me think that it'll probably stay light hearted throughout, but who knows.
Act 2 is when I realized should stop replaying as grand patriach of inquisitor family and treat the recruiting system like darkest dungeon.Act 3 is when I realized the system is shit and I should lower down the difficulty to rock bottom instead. Also rescue missions are literally impossible.
>>2122398MY LINE HAS ENDED
>>2120715>lineage mechanicMuy basado. I don't see this shit enough. I remember discovering it for the first time with Record of Agarest, but unfortunately that was only one of like two cool/good things about an otherwise dogass game.
Do you think the art is someone's fetish?
>>2122404It's a woman, so yes.
repetetive wokeslop
>>2122338I'm not far enough into the game to really judge how it works out in the long run, but at least in act 1 and 2 there's this big disaster that's going to happen in X weeks (in act 1 it's the reactor exploding, in act 2 it's food running out due to the port being overrun) and you need to get strong enough to solve the situation before the deadline. There doesn't seem to be a whole lot more to the story than that so far, but each NPC does have their own little side-narrative.
>>2122398>stop replaying as grand patriach of inquisitor familyAt first I thought it would be useless to keep expanding my family since my older characters were much higher level, but the stat boosts you get from breeding high-level characters are invaluable in the long run. Getting a level 1 zoomer who has stats comparable to a level 10 boomer is a big deal even if they lack skills and passives. Plus the gold you get at retirement helps you train the noobs to be less nooby.
>>2122402Massive Chalice was another game with lineage that sounded good on paper but was crappy to actually play
>>2122402>>2122471First time I played something like that (outside of Fire Emblem Awakening which doesn't really count IMO) was some chink mobile game I forgot the name of. It actually had a fairly sophisticated genetics system where you could mix and match various bloodlines and different races like elves along with a FFT-like class system, but once you finished the introduction storyline the entire thing just became an unbearably bland grinding game that just happened to habe a good lineage mechanic tacked on.
>>2122404>art is someone's fetish? That just art style anon
I think my youngest daughter has autism.
>>2122440schizo woke or libgroid woke?
>>2122468I'm fine with it, but 1. The game never introduce the retirement mechanic even with tutorial on (took 2 party wipes until I realize I'm effectively losing money when I let family members die), 2. The arbitrary level number on missions and the fact that everyone starts at level 1, reinforced by misleading mechanics like the useless gold for stamina restoration and the tight time limit makes new players hesitant to retire anyone ever.
>>2122731Horny femcoomer woke.
>game starts throwing enemies with infinite range attack that does shitton of damage with only 1 turn delay, there are at least 2 - 3 of them on each battle and they always be placed on the other end of the map>most of the maps are small long corridor so you have to spend your dice just to run and dodge the infinite range attacks, ignoring them is not an option because even 2 of these shitheads can cover half of the corridored map>also lolmutation makes ALL enemies leaving damaging goo on every step they takeI wish I could refund this shit.
I just learned that Viktorin is a male name.Use that information as you will.
>>2122968I already knew this before jerking off.
>>2120835>>2120897>>2121222>>2121448I think the art style is early 2000s edgy-cute comics.
>Character Relations are too slow: We think progressing through the relations are tooIs it though? I was like near maxed out with the berserker chick by the time of the reactor just from her events constantly popping up
>>2123365It depends on RNG. I got berserker on end of act 2 because the game keep throwing generic mob battles at me/other character's mission, and the stamina /health attrition prevents me to explore everything since the potable heals are practically worthless on 600+ health family members.
>>2123365I think they're just casualizing the game in order to cater to Steam shitters.>Act 2 & Act 3 is too hardRemember when games were supposed to ramp up in difficulty as you got to higher levels? What's the fucking point in making everything as piss-easy as act 1? If people want to make things easier on themselves, just tell them to use the fucking ingame options to do so.>Veteran/Older characters are too weakI genuinely thought this was by design. IF new characters aren't better than old characters, why even have an inheritance system in the first place? Characters don't age so you might as well use your early game characters forever if newer ones aren't stronger.>Stamina management is too roughThis is bullshit. It's barely a problem for yoiur first few missions and it's not any kind of problem at all after that because simply not sending someone on a mission (in other words simply having more than one team to send out) alkready recovers a significant chunk of stamina. And if there's any emergency patching-up to do, you unlock that ability in the infirmary very early on. On my playthrough I've literally never had to use the rest feature.>Chroma Is too punishing to useAgain, isn't that the point? I considered it more as a way to finish off a boss quicker than something that you should be using all the time. Reducing the consequences of chroma abuse just reduces the impact of choosing to use it.>Character Relations are too slow: I could see thins being true in the worst case scenario, but honestly as long as you intentionally seek out NPC challenges (normal fights are kinda worthless in comparison anyway) I don't think this is an actual issue. Even if you don't aim to max out a single NPC quickly, you'll still get relation level-ups regularly as long as you take the challenges when they appear.>additional pick-ups we plan to do like allowing you to delete save files in-game or buffing expedition healing encounter and more! These are actually good.
>>2120715Fun game. I just bought it after finishing the demo but seems I didn't save after the final battle of the demo so I have to play the final battle again. Aside from that no complaints. Only thing I don't like, though on chud grounds rather than gaming grounds, is incubating children. I get why they did it to not slow you down but they might as well have let us recruit people as it's functionally the same. It doesn't really feel like a family - and it's also a clear bone for the alphabet types.
>>2120715Also, the older sister of that family originally had massive tits that they toned down. Sad!
>>2123708>What's the fucking point in making everything as piss-easy as act 1?Because the game is heavily RNG, there's real chance of you never rolling good set of skills/passive on newer children after you find out which build you want and unlocked rerolls on level up to soften the RNG. And unlike other roguelites, this one has time limit, so you can't have the standard "fumble around early game to figure out everything then try again until you unlocked everything to succeed and RNG smiles upon you" thing in other roguelites.
