I bought this and all the DLC because it was on sale. What am I in for?
why dont you play it and find out instead of attention whoring on 4ch?
>>2140140What, you don't want to tell me what my opinion is?
Unfiltered slavjank. Prepare to savescum a lot
>>2140129lot of slavjank, power fantasies but also fun
Really fun game but the balance will get you off-guard. The first missions are simple, then BAM, Helicopter crash rescue mission. Trust me , you are going to hate that one
>>2140129Ball busting RTT. DLC will be even harder. Some general tips>sniper are good for clearing buildings from afar>infantry is king, lone vehicles are easy prey>on the second mission, there is an ATGM jihadmobil you can steal next to the house
Strategyslop
>>2140267Seems there's a veterancy system. I'm assuming if I don't save scum to save my veterans it will get extremely painful in the later missions?>>2140426Thanks for the tips! I take it that clearing buildings in close quarters combat is expensive in terms of casualties?
>>2140542Most of your guys except DLC militias are good at close quarters. The problem comes from getting close since you are always outnumbered and nearby buildings most of the time also have occupants.
A game way better than it has any right to be. Even if it isn't perfect. But yeah, save scum a bit as there are some cheap shots. Note that you have finite resources but the enemy respawns infinitely and runs at you from different points on the map.Expansion is ballbustingly hard, I couldn't finish. I enjoyed the vanilla game though.I hope Assad at least tried his own game.Thread theme:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPcpUlcCp8o
>>2140129A very good RTT and a whole lot of angry burgeroids ITT
>>2140129I've made a mistake to choose the ironman mode for the first playthrough. I did beat the game but it was hell. Haven't played the DLC yet.
>>2140736What a banger. Shame how Syria was raped over the last 10+ years. I'll try the game don't mind a bit of save scuming.
>>2140129is there multiplayer?
I check the developer VK pretty regularly and they seem to be selling some sort of collector's box.>>2142377No.
Really fun game. Not perfect but it's demanding and tense. I think the only level I didn't like was the helicopter rescue mission as it was too focused on infantry tactics and not combined arms urban warfare which the game excels at. >>2140426All accurate. You send a vehicle down any alleyway without infantry support and you are going to lose that vehicle. If only the buildings were completely destructible. I do wish there was a generic skirmish mode. The campaigns were fun but too linear and I lack the autism required to make my own scenarios.
Remember to also play the the developer's cat games. Their true passion.
>>2140799What parts made it hell? Being ironman, presumably you there weren't any parts you had to redo over and over.
>>2140129Wasn't this game propaganda from the side that lost the war?
>>2149587Let me guess, you think the US lost in Afghanistan because they withdrew after 20 years?
>>2149590...did they not?
>>2149564It follows the slav tradition of making the game hard by littering the map with enemies so you are constantly underpowered and understrength. And somehow the rebs have the access to T-90s with ERA while you scrape by with t-62s before you can capture better equipment.
>>2149590>>2149598Well, the US army won the war, but the US lost in terms of their unrealistic strategic objectives.Anyway.The point is that knowing Russians, they would have presented themselves as super soldiers and the story would paint only their enemies as bad people, while all sides in this conflict are more or less scum.A few years later - the presumable victors have to negotiate safe passage against the organizations that they defeated, because they cannot secure it by force.End of comment. I don't know how good of a game it really is.
>>2149611>And somehow the rebs have access to T-90s with ERA while you scrape by with t-62s before you can capture better equipment.Ah, the 2015 Donbas Experience.
>>2149634>the US army won the war, but the US lost in terms of their unrealistic strategic objectives.Kek that's one hell of a cope. There was no "war" to win, there was a 20 year long military operation of backing a "moderate" Mujahideen faction to control a piece of drug trade, which funded black ops and stuffed certain people's bank accounts. The US army have been doing exactly the same in Syria except it's oil and weapons instead of drugs. The presumable "victors of the war" the US army lost its control over Afghanistan entirely before even leaving the country, had to negotiate directly with Abdul Ghani Baradar the leader of Taliban, and the US-installed government collapsed within days.Soviets never backed any Mujahideens, they fought an all out war to support seculars. The Soviet-installed government held for a year on its own.>knowing Russians, they would have presented themselves as super soldiers and the story would paint only their enemies as bad people, while all sides in this conflict are more or less scumYou think it's somehow bad? You think it's a Russian thing?I bet you also think that Gaddafi was scum. It's Syrians who are the heroes and protagonists of the game's story, not Russians. Russians are simply supporting them, except that mission portraying Alexander Prokhorenko's fate, which has poor execution making it cheesy as fuck. Aside from it, Russia is portrayed in a surprisingly humble manner - at least in the main game, I haven't played the DLC.
>>2149665>I bet you also think that Gaddafi wasn't scum.Being the nigger gatekeeper doesn't make you a saint, especially when you use opening the gate as a threat
>>2149611So in ironman you had to play super carefully and cautiously to get through these unbalanced encounters?
>>2140129Is so sad how Syria in the end went out with a whimper, not a banger
