All things HoMM.1. Post your super cool idea for a faction.2. Your favourite hero for flavour reasons?
>>21458491. using homm1 as a base, in addition to the standard >Farm(Knight), Plains(Barbarian), Forest(Sorceress), Mountain(Warlock)I'd add a horror themed faction using scraps from unused units from King's Bounty>Swamp(Witch)Skeleton, Spider, Werewolf, Vampire, Golem, GiantSkeletons raised with necromancy, spiders climb over walls, werewolves regenerate, vampires lifesteal+no retal, golem magic immune and they would be more like a frankenstein's monster, giant throws rocks2. CarlawnPretty happy with the Wizard+Necromancer route they went for in homm2 though.Themes weren't as strong as the original 4, but still good.I think homm1/2 farm/knight and homm1/2/3 forest/sorceress/rampart are my fav designs in the series.Tower in homm3 and academy in homm4 are good too.
>>2145849I'd like Inferno to be a little more fun than just ugly demons.
>>2145849>1. Post your super cool idea for a factionNo thanks, game is fine as it is without butt pirate, space cowboy factions..
>>2146135Wrong.The game always needed pirates. Multiple scenarios in the original games have pirates in story, but gayass stronghold or castle in their place.
>>2145849Sir Christian.I know Christian's campaign is all "hermetic jokes that amused you when you were 18", but there is a charm to it.I just like the idea of a goofball dreamer getting himself in wacky adventures and beckoming a bit less of pansy in the process.
>>2145849olden era will flop like crazy. Can't wait for it to happen
>>2145849>Post your super cool idea for a faction. But Fortress and Conflux already exist>Your favourite hero for flavour reasons?FafnerYou know exactly why
>>2146169We had pirates in 4, they sucked (even if their campaign was easily the best one). Not my fault Ruskies have a hard-on for PotC and Akela to this day is trying to make another Sea Dogs game. That's on them for having garbage movie taste and masturbating to the same shit for 20 years straight.
>>2146256What I can't wait for will be zoomers defending it, no matter how shit it will be, under the guise of nostalgia for pre-Ubi games (which they never played in the first place, but that's just zoomers for you)
>>2146383I don't think zoomers care about the series at all
>>2146379>Conflux already existHoly shit. I didn't know actual women post on 4chan!
>>2146256I really don't know how to feel about it.It looks like shit. But they listened to feedback and now it looks less shit.I don't want them to flop completely if they listen to feedback.
>>2146596>But they listened to feedback and now it looks less shit.what did they change? It's still uniform 1 hex unit sizes and still everything looks like world of warcraft mixed with league of legends
>>2146604Town screens.
>>2146629town screens are a droplet in an ocean of issues, but good for them i guess
>>2146629>>2146635didn't homm6 or homm7 also try to skip town screens and then had to backpedal after fans got mad?
>>2145918>>Farm(Knight), Plains(Barbarian), Forest(Sorceress), Mountain(Warlock)First of all, it's "Castles" and "Hills" (and "Forests" but that's minor).Second, only the Forests creatures have a proper theme to them because all of them are either straight from folklore or got some minor modernisations (elves and trolls primarily). Castle creatures might have also became the foundation of the Knight's troops in the first Heroes game but they lack a proper faction feel. They're only a faction because they're not what everything else is: normal humans. Hills have a wild mix with the only unifying theme being "they are typically found in the hills or mountains in fantasy". Dungeons is just undead plus demons. Plains creatures are the only ones that are a leftovers camp.Generally attempting to make a faction out of odds and ends produces rather sad results. Finally, there are no spiders, werewolves or golems in KB.Three of the factions in H1 are varying degrees of messed up and H2 inherited quite a lot of that.Swamp really only works with Fortress in H3.
>>2146381Nature's and Death's campaigns are better. The former in all regards, the latter in terms of story and difficulty (you're just miserable most of the time because you are fighting other undead).
>>2145995I guess you could force a human slave warrior or something. But other than that?Uh...Sexy demon?
>>2146653nobody played those
>>2146711They just shouldn't be a faction. They're the enemy of everything good (and even evil) in the real setting anyway.
>>2146494Zoomers are notoriously contrarian and are currently actively being goodie two shoe morons doing free marketing for Olden Era. Literally NOBODY who played HoMM gives a fuck... but zoomers do, astroturfing it in the process>>2146709>I play video games to feel miserableWeird fetish and can't relate.
>>2146749Death's campaign is fun when you aren't facing undead. So other Death creatures and almost everything else. It's not common but does happen and then you feel like your hero is a poweful necromancer. But you really should invest into at least one other magic school, ideally all three (not having Combat for defence and resistance is the real misery).Other than that it's great. And Nature's is just great all the way from start to finish. And Orders is very good and definitely better than that of Chaos. Life's campaign is the only comparable to the Chaos one.
>>2146705>First of all, it's "Castles" and "Hills" (and "Forests" but that's minor).Nope, it was all correct actually
>>2146256yup>>2146596artstyle is a death knell. its from inseption a shit game because they missed artstyle. all they need to do is to copy artstyle of homm3 and change it a little. basic units but with fantasy elements and grounded without too much overextenstion. ijnstead its korean mmo artstyle with 6 winger archangels and rail swords and whatever the fuck ridicolous bullshit.
>>2146761I forgot that they changed them in H1 and didn't check its manual. It was about using KB's creatures anyway. Ironic, the very fact of changing the names the way they did goes a long way to explain how H1's factions are a mess.
>>2146764Eh...You're right.
>>2146765Sucks to be wrong when you're trying to be smug and correct someone, oh well you'll get them next time I'm sure

>>2146749>Zoomers are notoriously contrarian and are currently actively being goodie two shoe morons doing free marketing for Olden Era.I'm pretty sure it's just babel media anon. >>2148912>there is that risk with every good heroFalse.Neela doesn't have that problem, as she is ruined from the get go.
>>2148912Yes but the risk is higher on any hero that starts with one skill in advanced level.
>>2148916The photo-realistic views of HOMM3 are the best town screens in the series. Better than the earlier pixel art and better than the later 3D slop.Heroes 3 also has the best portraits without a shadow of a doubt.
>>2148907It saddens me to know there's pretty much no town with a similar aesthetic to Rampart.

Considered sprinkling in other heroes, but probably not necessary, maybe a wizard or two.Maybe a special building that lets them 'upgrade' Stronghold orcs and Rampart dwarves to Palace type of Orcs and Dwarves, like Gelu does with elves and marksmen.Could maybe switch some units around.Purple dragon is too iconic, elves fit well because of Sir Ector, same with ogres and orcs due to Tyro and Maximus. These Ogres wouldn't upgrade to ogre mages though like stronghold.Dwarves could be ranged and Elves could be melee to make it more different from rampart, or just skip dwarves entirely.
>>2145849>Post your super cool idea for a faction.I've thought about an ancient gear faction for some time. I think it would be pretty cool.
Here's my super cool town idea.Rather obvious theme, I think.Pretty cool, huh?

>>2149148So it's Rampart but a couple units got replaced by weeb stuff. I would rather have a completely new town that's based on Japan.
>>2151044I think there's enough difference for people not to confuse the two.
Wouldn't work within lore as on the planet Enroth of course, but warcraft factions kinda have a nice setup you can slot into homm3 creature setups.wc2 OrcWc3 Orcand Wow Orccould all be quite different too
>>2149872fear and luck debuffs, poison + entangle to the squid types. Yellow sign delayed kill infection to advanced fanaticsyou can do better on the last half>>2145995Inflicting fire damage/turns. Exploding gogs on death. succubi with charm attack instead of more stupid demons. Devils are still trash and idk what they need.
>>2151268Horror/Terror needs to stay. It's important to keep some connection to Might & Magic games. But man, it does look goofy. It needs some changes
>>2151044>>2149148Real-life-culture inspired town don't really work.In all town the real-life-cultures aesthetics are a secondary minor addition to the fantasy theme.
Can we all appriciate how simple yet brilliant the TOWER aesthetics are?Broad orientalism... but on snow! And it works! Also, stronghold...Let's give barbarians adobe houses, spanish colonial style. Sure, why not. And it works too!
>>2151421III's Dungeon doesn't stay true to one theme imo. They're half underground half Greek mythos. Extra flyers and the best magic without the nerfs you feel as Tower. Do a Cult class that focuses on status effects and weirdness. Unraveling the opposition being the focus over preservation of units. Keep them cartoony 3d rather than hyper grimdark. I like the factions to play differently rather than being all the same under a different paint job.
>>2151430I do think it's the best change going from homm2 to homm3.Really the addition of genies does so much for me.I don't hate homm2 wizard, it is interesting seeing like a mix of frontier western badlands, but with medieval castles, but the creature setup feels a bit weak in terms of implied lore.Like it's the Mage/Archmage and their golems, and then a bunch of bullshit.Sure the Roc is thematic for the terrain, the halflings because Gandalf+Hobbit connection, and the pig is like a whatever creature you could see paired with the halflings, and then giants/titans who are cool, but they're not really adding to the sapient core of the faction. It's like wizards and random friends. For Tower it's more of an alliance of genies+mages+gremlins. Naturally magical genies makes for a neat ally of wizards, as does mechanically inclined gremlins for the golem-making wizards.Gargoyle is pretty good as another construct. Titan is less cool than in homm2 imo, and I wouldn't want it gone, but it also doesn't feel as important to me. Naga kind of the same, it's a neat creature, but it doesn't have as much personality as the genies do. Not having Genies there would almost feel like not having Dwarves/Elves for Rampart.I like the snow.I think a cracked wasteland still could've worked.I feel like an inhospitable terrain kinda helps the feel with the golem factory, like that wouldn't look cool if the wizard town was in some grassland, or even a swamp.
>>2146494This. Compare to Undertale or Fnaf.

>>2151430>>2151448homm2 gets me on the hand drawn sprite aesthetics all the way, I don't care for prerender art unlike >>2148907but homm3 blows homm2 out of the water on faction design until we get to conflux.

I would like to announce that Olden Era priestesses have gigantic dump truck asses which automatically bumps this game up by at least 3 points on the out-of-10 scale.
What the hell is Focus Charge or Focus Point? I have spell and ability that increase it but there is not tooltip for it.
>>2167505yep, it's fine for almost everything i play. i even get by with playing noita with it until i reach jungle then it gets bad. but i mostly play indie games and retro games so it just werks
>>2167349I played it. The artstyle is meh, some things look okay, most of it looks like most other boring nu-fantasy shit. I feel like it was clearly designed to be a mobile game from the ui to the controls to the graphics. Not to say it wasn't any fun, but a lot of what makes homm 3(and 4, yes I'm a homm4fag) great is it's presentation, which I'm not to fond of in this game.
>>2167809I agree, the aesthetics suck, but maybe it'll be moddable or something idk. you can change the fog of war to be void which is a little better than the awful default

>>2167875yeah it's mostly great but man it's hard to get past the coat of paint on it...
The battlefield is smaller and the AI in this game is too smart. I'm used to kiting in HoMM3 where the AI is dumb, but in this game, they don't get baited by your 1-stack, so it's super hard to take any fight without losses. Because of this, Necro is just going to be the most OP faction again
So this new HOMM game is going to be a renaissance just like AoE2DERight?
>>2167596
>>2167884I don't think the homm3 autists will move on from hota to this game tbdesu
>>2167882I like the smaller battlefield, it allows for more tactics. I'm used to it because i've been playing a lot of Eador Genesis: New Horizons .
>>2167887Wouldn't a smaller battlefield generally allow for fewer tactics than a larger one due to limited maneuver
>>2167890only if you had more troops. with less troops you want a smaller battlefield because if you have a massive one then your ability to block troops with your own troops or spells that create walls ect is greatly diminished which reduces your available tactical choices.
>>2167882If all that matters in a turn based game is one-stack bait gimmicks then the games legacy isn't with saving
>>2167884HotA is the HOMM renaissance retardolden era is essentially HOMM6/7, we pretend it doesn't exist
>>2167874>I agree, the aesthetics suck, but maybe it'll be moddable or something idkat best you'll just get a new and different game entirely. You'd have to mod it by rebuilding it from scratch, it aint happening

>>2167878It really is. I can at least power through the aesthetics because holy shit the gameplay isn't fucking ass like 6 and 7. I feel like I'm actually enjoying the god damned thing again.
I found a funny bug in olden era. If your hero is flying, there are portals on the map and your hero is out of movement points you can tell him to reach any object beyond the portal and he will interact with it even if he can't actually reach it. You can just grab all the artifacts/resources and flag whatever mines you can see with no movement points.
>>2146494Zoomers hate the game. Random skills offered on level up require them to actually make situational choices and they do not get what makes a unit good or bad.
>>2168089At least play the demo you turd. It was made by russian autists and it shows in the best way possible when you start playing. First official game in the series I enjoyed since 5 and it's just the demo.
Any way to turn off auto combat in the demo? It's ruining my immersion.
>>2168238you control the buttons you press
>>2168240I know I can decide to play the fight myself, just annoyed at getting served a result how the battle would play out if the ai could do it before I can do it.
>>2168251Why is it bad though? Otherwise you can't know if your strategy is any better or worse than baseline.
>>2168348Why would I want to see the outcome of the battle before I play it? I don't find that fun.
>>2168222After a bit of testing I realised you don't even need flying, portals are just broken on their own.
>>2168222Sometimes you can just recruit units infinitely in the schism unique building (they still cost gold but I could buy 10k skeletons)
Unit icons suck, I can't tell the upgrades apart at a glance
>>2168110it remains to be seen. at the very least i do enjoy the drafting a hero and army and doing quick battles thing. That is one mode that i'll probably buy the game for even though the aesthetic sucks.
>>2168238i couldn't find one either, i get you i'm right there with you. I don't want it telling me the expected result of a battle or how hard or easy a battle is going to be by mousing over it.
>>2168547i guess they just follow the "industry" standard. In TW you are only supposed to fight if you don't agree with the autobattle result and iirc that's also how it works in HotA

Is the pathfinding tutorial even possible? giving the hero skeletons instead of swordsmen doesn't seem help his movement and the boots are too far to fetch

Why do heroes forget where they were moving to last turn
>>2169022Dungeon is pretty damn good at playing Might. Helps if you get the Ultimate to double your Might hero's Attack. Spells are good and easy to access so no reason not to use some good ones (Twilight, Favorable Winds, Blessing, etc) that do not rely on Spellpower.

What's the most interesting HOMM3 campaign? In terms of everything but mechanics and balance I love 2 was more than 3, but it's really hard to ignore how 3 plays.Bonus points if you get to play as either the Dungeon faction or the Wizards for the duration of it as they're the ones I like the most, Undead are good too and the Swamp and Barbarians were alright. Fuck Inferno.

>>2170426I'm still hoping for a real answer btw, what's the most fun HOMM3 campaign? I'm doing the starter Erathia campaign now but ehhhh, and I'm not that big of a fan of the 3 version of Castle towns.

Was going to try the demo for the newest might and magic game. Never played one before. What is generally the draw to them? What is the objective? It seems actually kind of overwhelming because how do you decide what you should be doing first? or not doing?
>>2176892>What is generally the draw to them? It's cool to build up your cities, level your heroes, get cool artifacts and foster an unstoppable army>What is the objective? Depends on the map, but often boils down to defeating all enemy heroes and taking all their towns. Some maps try to tell a story through gameplay, mostly in the campaign and standalone scenarios (those are my favourites) but none of such maps are in the demo.>It seems actually kind of overwhelming because how do you decide what you should be doing first?Generally you want to get some unit production buildings, assemble an army, hand it to one hero and go kill neutral stacks for xp and loot. As to what you should be building it's very simple - whatever the hell you think looks cool. Want to commandeer dragons? Go for it. Want an army of skeletons? Do it. Want to turtle in the corner and cast spells all fight? You can do that too. There are many heroes and each of them specialises in something, and that something can nudge you towards building something specific. See whatever speaks to you.The best thing about these games is they they can be played by anyone, they are by design very approachable. So unless you crank the difficulty, play a scenario deliberately stacked against you or play pvp you should be doing just fine fucking around and trying shit.
>>2177052Hows the innate challenge of the game at normal difficulty? I hear there is some really broken things you can do but that may just be by virtue of it being a demo.
>>2177291there's an AI opponent or a few doing the same thing as you and they want your blood
>>2177291As someone who used to play these games and knew how they worked, my first game fucking around in the demo normal AI showed up with a way stringer army and annihilated me. Steam forums were full of people complaining it's too hard the first few days. You will die.
>>2177396>You will die.
>>2176892Its mostly homm3 with some parts from 4 and 5, and some additional stuff of its own, the artstyle is kinda meh but ive played way worse, the main problem is the unit designs combined with the artstyle and unit model scale make it often hard to recognize the exact unit you're looking at
>>2177396Unironically the AI does worse at higher difficulties because the neutral stacks become tough to autoresolve without losing half your army
>>2146494I'm playing 5 right now it feels like a strategy rpg with extra steps and gay rougelike elements. It's alright.
Should you use neutral magics in the demo? Apparently the AI never uses neutral magics like town portal etc.
>>2177732take it to the two ad threads you posted already faggot
>>2170638I don't see why not. Equilibris will restore original music.
Are summoning rites bugged? I've used them multiple times with abyssal envoys and the teleporting unit but nothing happens. Does it not work on a certain number of units or what?
>>2178018Explain the steps you took.
>>2178057>Friendly creature dies>Use summoning rite on corpse>ability is cast, corpse is consumed but no unit is summonedUsually it's 1-10 in a unit but shouldn't it summon a stack regardless? Have done it with abyssal envoy, the t1 unit and the shots, same result.
>>2178082Did the dead stack have enough hp for even a single creature to be summoned?
>>2178095Probably not, thought that might be it but it doesn't say shit about needing a certain amount, only that it would have a percentage of the corpse hp.
>>2178103Creatures can only be summoned at full hp. If 50% of the dead stacks hp doesn't equal the hp of at least one of the creatures you are trying to summon, there will be no summons.
>>2178106ahhh gotcha, thought it would be born at low hp.

Should I play the original campaigns with just HD Mod or go straight to HotA?
>>2183240Definitely start with the original, HOTA cove campaign is very difficult and targets an experienced veteran as a baseline and factory campaign takes it even further.HOTA is fun but don't treat it like replacement for SOD these are two separate entities.
>>2183240Start with Long Live the Queen (Dungeons and Devils if you're an edgelord)
>>2183508>>2183244I should've mentioned I've played HoMM3 many times before, I've just never gotten past the dungeon(?) campaigns and it was ages ago.
>>2183515>I've just never gotten past the dungeon(?) campaignsif you've never gotten past them because you were bored then feel free to go for hota but if you've never gotten past because they were too hard for you then play vanilla first
>>2168575but you're free to do every battle yourself. you only auto-battle when the game says you will take zero losses.
>>2168825you can also have the top hero grab the boots and go back, then have the bottom hero go to the other hero and switch the boots before going to the goal
>>2145849Could only accept mono specie, mono race factions, such as all white human faction, all white elven faction, all white dwarven faction, all orc faction, all goblin faction, all troglodyte faction, all lizardmen faction, all gnolan faction. Cut all the mythical creatures, that were one of a kind in their origin story, such as Medusa. Be more realistic about gear too, e.g. when a better armed unit die, have a weaker pick up it's gear, as a sword won't break, just because it's wielder got an arrow into the face. Also why flying units fight on the gound in melee, why not fly up high, and throw bombs, or stones down at the enemy on the ground. There is a range limit on how high arrows be shot, or spears be thrown, so no reason for flying units to battle enemies on the ground, where they can fight back. Seen videos of how good drone warfare is, a pixie throwing a bomb could be devastating to any slower units, and yet they are worthless in these games, as they are used. The best way the series could be revived, if dropping most mythical creatures, only keep the realistic ones, cutting flying units, and have the game be a racewar simulator, and each race would specialize in race specific tactics, e.g. elves great from range, but more expensive to train, vs goblins are weak from everywhere but dirt cheap. Also you'd separately buy units and equipment. E.g. you have 200 human spawn per week, but the number of swords you could make for them is less, and some would have just spears, or pitchforks. But you could salvage weapons from fights, e.g. maybe you lost 100 swordsman, but only a few of their swords broke, could salvage equipment from the opponents too. Also each unit should gain experience individually, with causing, or taking damage, and the unit stack's stats should be the average of the individual unit's gear, and experience within the stack, with the least experienced, and worst armed units dying first within the stack, but also having an individual exp cap.
>>2185148who asked?
>>2185195Op. This is my idea of super cool faction, mono specie, mono space factions, with unique traits. Also having stockpiled equipment, and units having individual experience mechanics would make it even easier to suspend disbelief while playing, thus would make the game more fun.

which HoMM game should I buy for my first time? I heard plenty about 3 but I dont know if I should buy the normal one on GOG or the hd version on steam. does the hd version make any stupid changes? I dont really care about graphics so is the normal version better for me? should I just start with the first one?
>>2193776For a total noob, consider starting off with Crag Hack's Chronicles. They explain EVERYTHING about how the game works step by step and set you up for the main game's story. Idk if GoG has them, you might have to go digging. As for HD remastered reforged redefinitive shit... doesn't make a huge difference imo, up to you
>>2193776Get Complete on GOG then refer to >>2153256. HD version not only looks like smeared shit but it also lacks the expansion campaigns.

>>2193902There is, Tarnum chronicle campaigns exist and are built specificaly for noobs to the series. You can import this as a custom campaign if you got hd mod and it just werks, uh mostly. There are some bugs like AI taking units from garrisons they're not supposed to but they mostly work as intended.https://www.moddb.com/mods/heroes-chronicles-fully-compability-hdmodMaybe they fixed some of the issues it's been a while.

Griffins and angels are staples of Castle even since Homm3, but I've been wondering, what other magical/mythical beings could fit the faction? I think Titan could be a replacement for the highest tier. Feels fitting to have giant man being the strongest unit in the human faction. Pegasus riders as replacement for cavaliers also seems like a good idea. Especial since we haven't seen this unit ever since Homm3, so it maybe time for comeback. Alternatively we could have hippogriff riders if we're giving up on griffins entirely.
>>2198831>More Mythical shitI'd rather just go back to Humans fighting overwhelming odds with prayer and skill.
>>2193776HoMM1 is super easy. HoMM2 can get hard by late campaign. HoMM3 is the best of the series. The other guy is not wrong about trying out the Heroes Chronicles, basicly 8 extra campaigns for HoMM3, but easier than the base game's original campaigns (especially than the ones from the expansions), with usable spells being limited for each eight campaign, thus trying it first could be a good introduction to the game mechanics (and if you play these campaigns later, you might find them boring by then). HoMM4 can be interesting, but it is a rushly made game, with broken opponent behaviour, never even finished it's expansion campaigns. So I guess start with either HoMM1, or HoMM3/Chronicles. If you finish 1 first, might as well finish 2 after that, but 2 is harder than 3, same as 3 is harder (but not hard overall) than Chronicles.
>>2193776Add to this >>2203137 that the HoMM3 GoG version have more content than the steam HD version, it have more campaigns, and you can find programs to play the game in HD resolution anyways (without changing the texture, basicly just for easier alt-tab).
>>2203137>So I guess start with either HoMM1, or HoMM3/ChroniclesDO NOT start with Chronicles. They are not intended for newbies
>>2203353>Do not start with Chronicles they are not intended for new players>Start with Chronicles they're easier then the actual campaignsWell this is confusing.
>>2208259don't get 1guyd, the 1st campaign in Homm3 is super easy and intended as tutorial. If you get stuck on later ones, you can switch to something else and return when you understand more.
>>2208375Oh I know its multiple people. Just something to figure out, but thanks for helping.
Only played heroes 3 when I was a teen. Haven't touched it since. What do people itt recommend if I want to try playing again? Faction, heroes etc? I basically don't even remember how you play tbf but nostalgia gripped me
>>2208475I'd pick up homm3 again and either select a large map(like Warlords, Islands and Caves or Free For All), or go with the restoration of erathia campaigns(long live the queen). If you select a map, then pick whatever except Inferno, Fortress or Necropolis, unless you specifically want one of those themes, but since you're asking it suggests you don't.Now homm3 autists, don't get mad because you like Fortress or Necropolis, that's not the point, it'll just be easier for him to get into the game not playing those for his first time back.Homm3 is more lenient when it comes to money compared to homm2 and homm1, so you have more room for error while you spend gold.Like if a new player plays with their brain on auto, they'll fuck up fast in homm1 and homm2 making the games much harder than they ought to be, just because there's relatively less gold to go around.
>>2208653this guy is based
>>2177759Oh wow, didn't expect to get an answer that far late. I ended up using just a base game. Knowing it was the oddest of the bunch, but no quite as a catastrophy that was M&M IX, I might as well eat the cherry and leave undercooked cake for birds. Expansions take place on some other irrelevant continents anyway.Odd isometric perspective of adventure and combat screens might take some time to get used to, as well as army division mechanic. But what strikes me as truly bizarre is the presence of heroes on the battlefield, with variety of potions to abuse. I turned to revisiting HoMM2 after playing campaign stories for a bit, might return to HoMM4 after that.
>>2210911Noraston mission is peak. Are you playing with original homm2 music btw? There's often some confusion there, since there's midi vs stereo tracks, but then there's also Price of Loyalty midi vs stereo tracks. Not sure about the current GoG build, but there may be options to switch between them now, if not check the second comment here in case you care about Succession War music: https://www.gog.com/forum/heroes_of_might_and_magic_series/homm_2_is_there_any_way_to_get_the_original_sw_soundtrack>Original Homm2 Sorceress Musichttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9Z_avCG9tPs>Price of Loyalty Music Sorceress Musichttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zZjTF4ZxA-gog homm2 midi music switches around the tracks too, so instead of a midi version of the sorc theme you get a simpler version of the warlock theme I think, while for the expansion midis you mainly just lose the vocals.

>>2211324Dungeon is based, strong and has little weaknesses so good choice
>>2211113So close to quints. Yeah, I could've gone through DOSBox setup but choose fheroes in this case for novelty. Supplied with the engine, .bat script extracts music from the typical OST archives that GOG puts onto extra downloads. Inside the music folder you have to switch the tracks between pol and sw folders - manually, by copying them into the previous folder (this way you could mix the themes, like replacing the original wizard one with the prefered expansion version, and so on). However, you do can switch between MIDI versions within the available game options menu. They both have their unique flavors, but among the full audio-spectrum choral ones, I prefer the originals by a margin.>og homm2 midi music switches around the tracks tooNot currently possible on fheroes2, but game remembers the time position of music track when you return back to castle screen.
