What are some more games in the strategy-action hybrid genre? I only know of Sacrifice, Kunitsugami and Brutal Legend
The guy who made hex of steel is making a game that morphs hex of steel into a hybrid TB4x/WW2 Shooter. Beasts of Steel is the name of the game.
It's not out, but still awesome to see.

>>21552121998's Urban Assault. An all-time favorite of mine.
>>2155212I remember making such a thread on this board. I should look up what anons mentioned at the time.Giants: Citizen Kabuto (action heavily dominates over the strategy but it's fair since in Sacrifice strategy heavily dominates over action).Natural Selection 2 is a multiplayer FPS about space marines (human) fighting aliens. In each team one of the players can and should assume the commander role to give directions to other players, order building stuff and do other stuff (the marine commander can teleport ammo and medkits on his guys and I think even emergency teleport them over to the base (or at least gives them that ability, also I think it's him who gives commands to worker and siege drones).
>>2155477Oh right. I remember one of the answers straight away:Command & Conquer: Renegade multiplayer. It's basically team FPS but there are AI-controlled harvesters gathering resources so that players can buy stuff and base buildings that allow them to get that stuff and if one of those gets destroyed the team has to make it without it while the computer tries to rebuild it.

I'd add Outpost Infinity Siege, Silica. >>2155480W3D games are soulhttps://youtu.be/D0QbloEdbtMCheck out RenX too.
>>2155212The grandaddy of RTSs
>>2155212>SacrificeSome should really remake this one so the controls are not ass and that's it, doesn't need moreOr just make a totally new game with the same style idc
>>2155212>>2160163Kingdom Under Fire Crusaders & HeroesMen of War(some anon wrote) You could kinda count some of the mousu games like Dysentery warriors but I don't.(same anon) Dungeon Keeper/ War for the Overworld kinda but it's also not really an RTS, I just really like possession.BattlezoneExecutive Assault 1 and 2Eximius UprisingBattleforgeStarhawksBattlezone 98 ReduxSpellforce series
>>2155212>strategy-action hybrid genreAlso known as RTS.
>>2162113>considers mouse clicks "action" in the given context but doesn't consider Risk, a strategy game with many clicks, an action gameDo better, anon.
>>2162125Do you have to time your clicks in Risk?
>>2162129If you click in the right moments all your dice rolls become sixes.
>>2162131Then it is an action game.
>>2155212Kingdom Under Fire, both Crusaders and Heroes. Too bad about the sequels.
Guilty Gear 2. It's a bit more MOBA (wouldn't surprise me if Daisuke played DOTA back in the day since he was into Diablo) but worth playing.
>>2155212Dungeon Keeper? You can take direct control of a unit, and in way too many levels taking direct control of a max level dragon is enough to plow through the enemy's entire fortress.I would put that more in the "cheese tactic" category than proper RTS-action hybrid, but the game is really nice outside of that trick.
anyone play pic related? was peeling through my wishlist for the steam sale. seems to have good reviews. seems like it fits what OP is asking. also perhaps check out Battlestations:Midway and Battlestations pacific. Toy Soldiers too?
>>2155212Machines: Wired For WarReleased in 1999, itβs one of the first fully 3D RTS games. You build armies of machines and can jump directly into any unit in FPS/TP view.Community-made source port available here:https://github.com/WiredForWar/machines#installation

>>2162110A sequel is what it needs.WASD controls and an overview toggle would make it palatable.
>>2164047cool, somebody else remembers this game, i used to play the demo a lot. the unit voices were really juicy, especially the four-legged robots.and just to add, since it's not obvious from your comment>and can jump directly into any unit in FPS/TP view.you actually do control the unit directly: you move it around, you shoot at things or build structures, it's not just looking at stuff.
