This speaks VOLUMES about Dawn of War 4's direction. At least Relic's fake brick wall was authentic. Not even counting the horrendous voice acting, stiff animations and toy-like colours in the recent trailer. They don't even have the right table size for a game of 40k. A bunch of posers looking to milk the 40k cow. Ad Mech? Seriously?
>>2157257I see white unhealthy nerds. The perfect demographic for making a strategy game.
>>2157257Yeah, a lot of people like Ad Mech and it has been getting a way more attention compared to Eldar or even Imperial Guard.
>>2157257>GUYS>GUYS LISTEN>I KNOW HOW TO MAKE ADMECH GOOD>WE HAVE THEM FUCK EACH OTHER IN THE ASS AND GIVE EACH OTHER HIV. I WANT TO FUCK YOU IN THE ASS. I AM HOMOSEXUAL, GAY, QUEERGENDER FLUIDSPERM NIGGERLOVER>THIS IS HIGHLY RELEVANT TO THE CULTURE AT OUR STUDIO.
>>2157257Fix'd
>>2157560better
>>2157257what's the connection between the rainbow flag and video games?>>2157560Fixed thank you
>>2158346>what's the connection between the rainbow flag and video games? It heralds the introduction of femstodes, slaanesh interference - the beginning of the end. >>2157278I see, gay, unhealthy white nerds fucking each other in the bum after the staff meeting. The lead dev here called the Blood Ravens, the Black Ravens for some reason. It's game over. They're just posers, looking to make some money after the Iron Harvest flop.
>>2158403>blood ravens are known for stealing from other chapters>guy has a freudian slip and calls them the black ravensIf someone in any 40k thread here called them the black ravens everyone would get the joke.
>>2157257Would be pretty on point if they were including a Slaanesh faction. But I guess they don’t hear the voices too…
>>2158427Do you genuinely think guys with a pride flag in their office would even begin to have negative opinions on black people? He just said black ravens because ravens are black, that's how little he cares.
>>2158664internally, every white person in the world has extremely racist and negative thoughts about niggers especially. Every single one. He meant "niggers". "Niggers steal" is the core essence of his statement.
>>2158346Because they enjoy being 'supportive of the current thing' and showing how much they care OR unironically believe and support a movement no matter how vile and toxic it is.There is no difference between that, the more fucked up tranny version and the Nazi Red, White and Swastika. It's literally the exact same point and meaning, just for a different group with a collective of ideals that they most propogandize is 'good' to the average person. The issue they don't realize is that they don't understand the fanbase views said flag with the same reaction as they would do to a Confederate Flag or Nazi flag... Because they aren't the fanbase and are attempting to sell to the people who don't buy these games.
>>2158664>Do you genuinely think guys with a pride flag in their office would even begin to have negative opinions on black people?Absolutely. That's what overcompensating looks like. At least one of them has beaten their wife and sexted a 15 year old, too.
I just watched the new gameplay video and I gotta say, it really does look and sound like complete and utter dogshit. Why are marines made of fucking plastic? Why are admech all quirky chunguses? Why are necrons saturday morning cartoon villains? What are these stupid ass vehicles? They're completely impractical and designed by someone who has never even seen a combat vehicle in a museum.I now realize just how bad nu-40k is. The game might be killed not by its dogshit gameplay, but by its godawful dogshit IP nu-setting
>op pic>gameplay vid It's going to flop just as bad as 3 isn't it?
>>2159185>Why are admech all quirky chunguses?i asked that question upon playing mechanicus i figure there's gotta be a precedent for that, but it's been like a decade since i've read books or codices and i just remember them being inhuman body horror cold types. if there was a humorous aspect to them beyond the fact it's an exaggerated grimdark setting, it was minor.
>>2159413The redesign had some faggot working on them who wanted them to be wacky steampunk wild west faggots. This is also why the new units look ridiculous.
>>2159185>Why are marines made of fucking plastic?Because they are, on tabletop. Primaris having a shit design aside, it was around their release when GW went hardcore into promotional art that actually just looks like minifigs in motion, see their edition trailers and the HH trailers.
>>2159185>>2159413Admech were quirk chunguses for long, long time in the community, toaster fucking jokes and all. GW just took that and ran with it in modern day, not understanding that they shouldn't dillute the actual canon with fanon memes aside from a subtly referencing some of it - like how they referenced Love Can Bloom but with the logical conclusion of the Vindicare just pulling the trigger. It's one thing when hugless, kissless, handholdless virgins on 4chan pretend the grimdark is actually really funny and cute, it's another when it becomes official.
>>2159425>the new units look ridiculousholy kek i remember the first time a kastelan robot popped up in gladius i hit alt+tab to see if this bullshit design wasn't some retarded OC by the devs
>>2159735https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Bombotwe were robbed
>>2159185>Why are necrons saturday morning cartoon villains?>What are these stupid ass vehicles? They're completely impractical and designed by someone who has never even seen a combat vehicle in a museum. This shit has been a core aspect of 40k since his inception, do you guys even like this setting?>Why are admech all quirky chunguses? What the fuck does this even mean?
>>2162285>core aspect of 40k since his inceptionI'd like to point out this wasn't a thing for the Necrons initially, they were retconned fairly recently into quirky little shits.>>2159185As for the Admech, bad writers struggle to inject personality into characters without turning them into scenery-chewing drama queens. Which is why that characterization turns up in Ad Mech games.
>>2162300>I'd like to point out this wasn't a thing for the Necrons initially, they were retconned fairly recently into quirky little shits.Anon... the 5e retcon was nearly 15 years ago
>>2162361I don't care.
>>2162285>This shit has been a core aspect of 40k since his inception, do you guys even like this setting?dawn of war 1 didn't have this problem, your corporate ass rimming sessions are a core aspect of your shit opinion
>>2162641He's disingenious with his arguments. It essentially boils down to "why do you not like getting the shit kicked out of you? physical contact has been core aspect of communication since it's inception".
>>2159185>What are these stupid ass vehicles? They're completely impractical and designed by someone who has never even seen a combat vehicle in a museum. Two things:The first is that none of the people that made WH40K back then was a military oriented person. You and I both know why we don't use those designs in modern warfare anymore, they didn't.The second is that apparently they thought WW1 vehicle designs were cool, and the setting runs on "it looks cool > it works/makes sense">>2159425Was that before or after the "we're going to give these guys weapons that will slowly kill them, and these other guys are just Matrix style batteries for this vehicle"?>>2159735It gets worse. Look at the Pteraxii.
>>2162641>dawn of war 1 didn't have this problemYeah, because Crull and both Necron lords were really complex characters with nuanced opinions anyd don't get me started on how impractical some vehicles like the Kroot dinosaur or the pennal engines>>2162652It's not disingenious, it's the truth, those elements have been core aspects of 40k since his inception, if you don't like them then you are in the wrong setting
>>2157257Ave, true to Caesar.
>>2162718I'll give you Crull, as far as mannerism is concerned, but soulless genocide bots aren't the usual cartoon material. I personally don't have much problem with newcrons, though I think I was disappointed to learn that C'tan were basically reduced to their playthings.Though I guess the anon's problem is stuff like those legless centaurs with energy sword-shields that look plastic toy-like as fuck. I've seen some new WH40k animations and that's a problem there too. No, wanting your bonus material look identical to the main product (like this anon >>2159431 says) isn't genius, it's retarded. Animations and videogames are supposed to be like your imagination come true. If tabletop players have a working imagination, most of them aren't imagining plastic toys running around. So, yeah, anon. Some of your complaints about complaints are disingenious too.
>>2162706>Was that before or after the "we're going to give these guys weapons that will slowly kill them, and these other guys are just Matrix style batteries for this vehicle"?During. It was all basically the one same redesign.
Why does everything look so clean? Is that a GW thing, everything has to look like a freshly painted model? Because it looks shitty.Have they said anything about mod support?
>>2162718>Yeah, because Crull and both Necron lords were really complex characters with nuanced opinionswhat does any of this have to do with anything said in >>2159185 ??????? If you can't discern the colossal difference in faction presence between dark crusade necrons and nu-40k necrons, you might just have a brain disability and not know it>It's not disingenious, it's the truthit's a retarded irrelevant OPINION spoken by a corporate cultist
The major issue with nu-40K is that it essentially Bigger Batman'd almost all the major factions. It doesn't add to it in any way, in fact it seems to replace it in many respects. For no other reason than trademarks. It seems only the Eldar escaped mostly unscathed, with just a name change. But they've always been shitty and gay and for fags so no wonder GW thinks they're perfect.
>>2163103Controversial, but I think Eldar are cool and aren't gay. They just need more lore like Biel-Tan single-handedly defeating like a dozen Space Marine Chapters in a fight.
>>2163088>You lived long enough to see the same place that bitched about Newcrons to no end do a 180 and complaint that Necrons are just terminators on spaceYou love to see it>>2163103>The major issue with nu-40K is that it essentially Bigger Batman'd almost all the major factionsThe only example I can think of outside of Primaris marines is the Rogal Dorn tank (which even then that's debatable), I have yet to see Primaris Tau or Primaris sisters of battle
>>2163213>/vst/ is one person
>admech models in the year of omnissiah 0.25.M3ohwowI see why people are so pissed
>>2163244S-SHUT UP!!! IT WAS ALWAYS STUPID LIKE THIS!!!! YOU'RE A SECONDARY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>>2163244>Imperial Gua... Astra Militarum survive on low-quality handouts from AdMech, the real good stuff is kept by the tinheads>the good stuff in question
>>2163081When doing asset work, things like stains, battle damage, wear and tear etc are usually decals on a separate layer overlaid on top of the base texture and then merged in the finished product. Since cosmetic finishing touches like that don't really matter to the production pipeline, they're typically left until the very end of production. In other words, it's usually normal for assets to look like brightly painted toys until basically the last few weeks of production. Unless they're some triple-A studio that needs to make a strong showing at the Game Awards or else the investors will cut and run.All the 3rd party tools developers use to make games are awash with asset libraries full of these decals so there's literally no reason to not bother with them, it's just time-consuming to export the merged layers so nobody bothers with that until the base model/texture/colours are set in stone. As for mod support there hasn't been any word but it's being built directly on the engine from their previous game so it will likely be exactly as moddable as that was.
>>2157257Fake brick wall?
>lgbtqiabcd+ flagthis is going to be a shitty woke game, isn't it?>mfw even warhammer 40k gets murdered by the left>2157560i wish it were real
>>2162300>they were retconned fairly recently into quirky little shits. It's been 20 years
>>2159185>Why are admech all quirky chunguses?I ask myself that every time I look at their model range.I then asked if their sculptor is also why primaris and current cadians are so terrible.>>2159434>It's one thing when hugless, kissless, handholdless virgins on 4chan pretend the grimdark is actually really funny and cute, it's another when it becomes official. The last 10 years of black library books have taken grimdark to another level. I miss 40K not being serious.>>2162641I like how DoW1's cinematic is basically "We lost the technology" and it took until Space Marine 2 and Vermintide to get a new secondary audience.
>>2163213>Primaris sisters of battleImage related, or Custodes. Pick your poison.
>>2166955
Admech are popular because even though leftists hate the imperium as fascistic, being mildly incompetent BUT QUIRKY!!! cultist supervillains who hate their own flesh and aspire to become non-humanoid abominations is very relatable to many of them and they're ostensibly part of the greater faction newbies will see as the good guys so it lets them glom onto that more easilythe tau being the white man's burden in space and the necrons toxic old man yaoi only goes so far in comparison to mutilating yourself to be a cog in a machine
>>2170574Nigger what are you on about? Admech are basically right wing extremism only logic no feelings personified. They're also the farthest thing from quirky you can imagine. I also don't think admech are popular at all since they only resonate with turbo autists.Leftists all like Tau since they're xenophiles wholesome chungus big titty blue anime cows.
>>2170580The “far right” is primarily concerned with sentiment.
>>2170574>Admech are popularThey aren't. They're just always paired with Necrons because that's how GW introduced and sells their toys.
>>2170849Politics is two brain halves fighting each other.>>2170852This Necrons and Admech are basically intertwined lore wise these days.
You can really tell who is new to the hobby based on how they view Mechanicus.
