How does this shit board not have a thread for the only good multiplayer strategy in existenceFog of war and all napoleonic unit types now added. Looking pretty complete now. Its free and its good, go play so I can farm elo
>turn basedPASS!
>>2159030its not really turn based, the units dont reset every turn. And a 30 second timer match is more or less RTS, try that and see if you can cope
>>2159029Spoonfeed me a link & a QRD of this game, and I will play.
>Preußenklickenfirst of all, paste the link in the OPhave they made the UI not dogshit yet? i tried this game months ago and it was the clunkiest thing ever
>>2159321>>2159232https://linesofbattle.net/>realistic napoleonic wargame>real time turns 1v1 (like chess) or 2v2.>you give orders to your unit every turn like move, charge, fire and move. can take several turns to maneuver but once the lines are in contact it is pretty quick>most of the game is maneuvering into position, anticipating enemy moves and laying traps>you customise your army composition with a set number of points, between inf art cav (and there 20 or so subunits). there is no one good meta, you can go artillery heavy, elites only or horde, etc>pretty deep combat when you get to higher elo, you have to utilise terrain, reserves, line of sight, etc
>>2159029There was a thread here 6 months ago when the game was pretty differentI think having a neutral objective and letting the elite line infantry spawn more forward diminished the strategic-ness of the game, now most matches are just people spamming the elite line infantry and rushing for forests and towns near the neutral point always resulting in an immediate central clash with the game ending soon after, whereas before there was also a kind of attacker and defender situation that could happen where someone would set up a defensive position(offering battle kinda like irl) and the attacker would attempt to breach it, usually by maneuvering around terrain and setting up enough troops for a mass charge to break a certain point in the defenders lines. There was also more of an eb and flow when a central clash happened where you could regularly get to turn 30 with both players still thinking they're able to win, with each taking turns attacking and defending each others lines but getting pushed back, whereas now its kinda obvious by turn 10 that its over. Sprinting kinda fucked this up because it means people can get rekt much faster than they could previously.People used to whinge about the base campers but they were pretty easy to defeat if you had some arty, and the fact that they were base camping meant your routed troops would return back to your lines whereas theres could run off the map Perhaps there should be a classic matchmode available without sprinting, skirmishers, forward spawns, line of sight or a neutral objective, the game as it existed when the last thread was made. Probably in either the battle or combat size modes and with a 1 minute 20 second timer or something
>>2159686Have you played yesterday's update? They balanced the units a lot more. Artillery is very powerful and cheap now so it doesn't really make sense to spam light inf instead, they just get obliterated by 12 pounders. They also reduced inf shooting range. And they added ammo limit so you can't spam artillery either. You can definitely defend now if you want, but they also added auto win if you cap opponent's main objective. Pretty good balance now I think, maybe even leaning towards defense
so it's just an RTS but instead of each unit having a full circular firing range, they have a very narrow firing cone which results in them just sitting there and doing nothing if they get hit from the sideyeah this shit is even worse than starcraft
>>2159791do you not understand the concept of flanking? or fucking turning
>>2159791Retard
>>2159827>>2160232>let me just individually turn each unit because the game is too retarded to do it for meno thanksyou'd have to have a forklift-driver IQ to enjoy this shitit's not a strategy game; just worse starcraft
>>2160853shoot order>right click enemy unit and it will follow enemyalso kys
>all artillery (of various sizes) consume practically the same amount of ammobravo, devtards
>>2159029game was fun when i last played it months ago
>>2159029
