Why did this one stink so much that it killed the series? 1 and 2 were good and then they deliver this.I long for the day when we finally get a good WW2 RTS/RTT again.
They somehow decided that going all in on tower defense mechanics was a good idea
>>2163487devs took the always-online pill, even for singleplayer and also made the singeplayer overly scriptedalso infantry dies in 3 seconds but thats par for the course in Blitzkrieg
>>2163487Kek what kind of progression was that?
>>2163469They made it too streamlined and arcadey, previous installments in the series had some degree of realism. In this game they tried to emulate Company of Heroes and then added some retarded looking shit like infantry lobbing comically slooooowly flying bundle grenades over 50 meters, antitank rockets flying in similar slow-motion, it's a mish-mash of different influences and the devs clearly didn't know what the fuck they wanted
>>2164105oh yeah this is what actually killed the game combined with the 60$/€/£ pricetag
>>2166963You had your "Base", which was basicalla map with a headquarters building, and you could place the units you had gained through the campaign around that map to defend your HQ.This predictably resulting in everyone simply amassing their entire army directly in front of the HQ instead of spreading out across the map and getting whittled down piecemeal.
>>2167055What the fuck is with the arcade trend?Men of WarCompany of HeroesBlitzkrieg
>>2170716MoW2 wasn't any more arcadey than MOWAS2 or GoH. Literally the only thing it did differently was display the hp values that all 3 games use.It had a couple extremely successful betas and then launched to an overwhelming anti-shill campaign by vatniks because it was made in the wrong country and died in a month.CoH has always been arcadey, that was its explicit design. The whole slavjank WW2 autismo genre was born from CoH2, not because it was so amazing that everyone was influenced by it but because it featured the eastern front and was given to eastern euro poorfags for free.I don't know what the fuck they were thinking with Blitzkrieg 3 but the more you dig into the devs the more clear it becomes this is some shadow-financing scheme masquerading as a game developer and the quality of their products is entirely incidental. They probably thought they could draw in some of CoH2's audience as that game steadily died off and failed to realize the secret to CoH2's "success" is that russians didn't have to pay for it.
>>2170923still not killed yourself after they fully cancelled updates for it schizo?
>>2170716They want that CoH money
