Flash gaming was full of zombie games, including occasional strategy games, too.>Autumn WarA very old and primitive game with rather atmospheric visuals.>Shattered ColonyA well-made defense/management game with randomly generated cities. I played this a lot.>Rebuild series> Turn-based survivor management. I remember R2 having different endings, one of which had your colony succumb to a zombie cult - pretty messed up.
The Lotus Clan has to be the most gruesome, freakish, weirdest and cartoonishly evil faction in a strategy game.

Dark Omen game scared me as you play as regular dudes in medieval/late med armor against undead, mummies, ghouls and vampires. Add to that the effects from dark magic like souls being sucked from troops and its scream along with gameover screen.
This thread reminds me of two games that are very related to it. I played their demos during previous year Steam Next Fest and while I didn't end up getting full games, I still found them to be quite neat.Anoxia Station is a turn-based base management set deep underground where you explore tunnels, manage resources and deal with underground monsters. It got this very thick alien horror atmosphere.Blood Bar Tycoon is a you can see more of comedic game in style of Theme Hospital and such where you run a bar that's secretly vampire bar and you kidnap your human customers to drain them from blood.
Infested Planet for that alien bug extermination itch. I also heard that Starship Troopers game is very similar and not bad.
