I've been wanting to play a turn-based WW2 game, something on a small scale like XCOM, is there a good game like that?Also, general WW2 strategy game thread I guess.

Your options are the silent storm series, classified 1942, or forgotten but unbroken.They're all subpar in different way. Silent Storm is probably the most notable for the physics, but it's pretty old now and not as tactical in ways that the other two are. The other two are xcom tactics lite.

>>2179314honestly the ultimate WW2 game would actually start in 1919 (or 1923), last until 1950+, and try to simulate econ, domestic politics, and foreign politics in a historically plausible fashion. No focus tree bullshit. You wouldn't get the same WW2 every time but hopefully something that is plausible enough. The alt history would emerge in a plausible way. Probably best to use Vic2 as a starting point for developing a game like that

>>2186509Its terrible at making decisions, so it seems to the player like it is trying to flank. Once you realize that it never uses abilities, it's pretty easy to fight. Just get some team weapons pointed at general areas to protect. Don't try anything fancy.
