Anons i have a coomer confession to make:
i've been using a mix between Bandit Militias and captivity events to kindap and enslave the female bandit heroes let my men have their way with them and sell them off into prostitution, it's bugged of course because sometimes they turn into entirely different people and sometimes turn male but yknow what? I might just turn on the male prostitution option. I dont care, i just like the idea of selling bandits into slavery while they were acting so high and mighty, even if half of them look like potatoes

Calradia needs more things of value to trade

War sails is adding a couple items but i think there really isn't enough shit to go around that justifies an economy as it is. Like we got abstract and simplified things like "tools", "jewelry" and "hardwood" despite those things having a huge variation in uses and values and also sources.

>Tools > farming tools, masonry tools, carpentry tools, smithing tools.
>Jewelry > Jewelry, cutlery, sculptures, glassware, furnishings, embroidery, ancient coin
>Hardwood > oakwood, ashwood, pinewood, elm, maple, firewood, bamboo, coal
>Iron ore/ingot > iron ore/ingot, copper ore/ingot, lead ore/ingot, tin,

also should have dyes, paints, spices, cabbage, squashes and other vegetable produce

Coomer mods for fucking MB kek, how far does the modding scene go for these games?
>>
>>2179140
You have to zoom in to see it
>>
>>2179144

>>
>>2179141
General modding goes far, it's been getting more popular again recently but Warband had a bunch of chinese mods that did shit like turn the game into Dota 2, not a flavor mod mind you, as in literally Dota 2.

As for NSFW mods, afaik in Warband you had dickplomacy and other mods which also included prostitution and stuff, in Bannerlord you have mods like Hot Butter, various coomer minor faction mods, Drama Lord sort of (but its more immersive feeling), and in this case various versions of captivity events and addons.
>>
>>2179168
What's up with the bannerlord scene, why does warband somehow run circles around...what should have been like a clear case of an upgrade? Even now I notice some obsessive details about patch discrepancies, as if the community is stuck in multiple different eras, is that it?
>>
>>2179173
The devs keep breaking mods with each new patch, so no one is willing to put in the effort to keep mods up-to-date (and if they do, they're spending all their time maintaining their current mods rather than creating new ones).

Bannerlord has quite a few overhaul projects that are great, no idea about coomershit it is boring anyway
>Eagle Rising
Romaboo quintessential mod, comes with new models, few new weapon types, special units, "ships", faction armory
>Shokuho
Japan with early guns, arenas are smaller, mini encounters with recent battlefields where you race to pick up loot before looters get it
>Old Realms
Warhammer Fantasy
6 origins, empire, bretonia, asrai, eonir, vampire, mousillon
each origin can choose different careers, Mercenary, Grail Knight, Damsel, Magister, vampiric lineage, Necromancy
spells in many shapes
artillery, from trebuchet to fieldguns
each class/origin has separate to manage(empire used prestige to high units, bretonia relies on chivalry, etc...)
>Realm of Thrones
Game of Thrones shit, if that is your thing
>other overhauls
there are a few others, shot and pike mod (I forgot the name)
there are also 2 Lord of the Rings mods
>non overhaul
Fourberie, introduces whole criminal aspect to the game and utilizes the city and bandit hideouts
RBM/Warbandlord changes the combat for the better
Bannerkings introduces autistic kingdom management(how much autonomy settlement has, religion, taxes)
Bannerlord modding scene is doing fine for the most part, it just takes time to sift through mods

Warband has the advantage of time, its old code and the devs dont break the mods with every patch like Bannerlord. Even then Bannerlord has some pretty nice mods out there now.

What was the release date, fall 2025? Theoretically that's 30th november.
But then they could just delay it.
>>
>>2178900
Maybe its because i dont interact with them much but i wish the minor factions actually had something cool to do with them other than being mercenaries. Improved minor factions does improve them with hideouts and stuff but i wish stuff like maybe fourberie could be integrated so Embers and Hidden Hands could have some stuff to do.

I think minor factions could only work if faction cultures could be subdivided further into ethnic groups, religious groups and guilds. As it is they are simply landless, perma-cucked clans that can never truly rule or take land, nobody can join them or help them to power or vice versa, but if you had them represent actual chunks of society with grassroots power or at the very least sizable influence and ways to leverage power they could be very important to the world. It would have to go hand in hand with a proper population system though, subdividing the population of a town or village into one of several classes or groups that have notables representing them, and they would have interests that would affect how a lord votes on policy or wars.

Besides those, minor factions definitely need locations specifically for them. Hideouts, camps, temples, etc,

its genuinely baffling how players loved the preset companions of warband and they decided to make them all el generico for the sequel
>>
>>2180620
Why is there a BRACK in this?
>>
>>2180830
I get it. In warband you could default to just grabbing a certain companion for a given role. They wanted less of that but the system they came up with isn't much different because you're just looking for certain titles.
>>
is there a mod for Bonerlord that auto upgrades companion equipment?
>>
>>2180518
Yeah, there should also be events and mechanics related to them. Hidden Hand and Beni Zilal should be hired to perform assassinations, blackmail, fourberie shit, allying with the Embers and establishing temples in towns should net you extra loyalty and security and maybe even taxes in towns but give you negative relations with notables and eventually (
if you establish too many) lords. You should get positive relations from executing Lake Rats and since War Sails is coming up you should use their in lore activities to make profits scuttering ships, Golden Boars, Kharakuzait, Jawwal can remain as just mercs.

They just wanted the game to be a completely different experiences for each playthrough, and that passed through making the player's gang be different each time, I guess. I agree that it was the wrong decision by a mile. Having the companions just be generic templates with less personality that disappear after each playthrough makes you less attached, not more.

I'm not saying the way Bannerlord did it was good but the idea itself is the obvious logical progression, it just needs so, so much more work put into it, like a full team of writers dedicated to making companions less shit, something TW -MAY- be able to afford, but simply wont.

For Bannerlord companions to be good you'd have to code in shit like flags for when you visit a specific city or location so they comment things about it if they have a certain trait, the right culture and skills, or when you meet certain NPC, or hell, when you get any quest involving them, also
>companion with [skill] focus learns something while on a town and can bring up emergent quests related to it
>companions with conflicting character traits will squabble and bicker with eachother at random, sometimes fighting in towns, sometimes while travelling, they can have other companions they're enemies with and won't join you or will leave if their rival is in your party
>companions will train troops and sometimes make friends with a few of them, or become disliked by others

Anyone know if there's a way to make throwing weapons more accurate in Warband? Speaking specifically of modding here, not PThrow/Horse Archery/boosting Throwing skill. There's a throwing weapon (War Dart) that is laser accurate for some reason, and I can't figure out what in the stats makes it so accurate. I've been fucking around in Morgh's, and none of the changes I've made thus far seem to make a lick of difference.
So far I've tried:
- changing the weapon speed
- changing the shot speed
- changing the mesh
- changing the weapon length
- changing the difficulty
I am using a new weapon entry (two slots up from itm_end) for my test jav, could that be part of it?

>inb4 ask your mom
>>
>>2182393
i'm not sure what you're getting at desu.
do you mean that bannerlord can never ever be fixed?
>>
>>2182571
No, i mean that bannerlord has gaping hole in regards to content. The only way it can be fixed is for them to stop half assing development and just throw shit in, all the missing features, scenes, mechanics, etc. Any way you slice it, fixing the game involves adding things more than changing or removing anything.
>>
>>2182604
i believe that the major issue in the game is the economy.
>main income for AI is battle loot so it has no incentive to stop fighting
>AI can upgrade into cav without horses so the AI can have cav without paying more
>cav doesn't cost more in any way for the AI
>you get a shit ton of taxes/tariffs (percentage wise) even at low loyalty as long as it's not in the red so the AI doesn't have to take care of newly conquered towns and just keep advancing
even if they added interactions with lords, scenes and features, the game will always be lacking imo.
>>
>>2182706
I mean you could also address that by adding more factors to the economy and recruitment system like making taxation affected by how much of a population is currently mobilized for warfare so the cost benefit of perma-warfare flips over after a point, and having horses actually need to eat so unless you're in a grassland steppe you can't just maintain infinite horse forever. Especially in desert, mountain or snow terrain, you'd have a reason to opt for Camels if you need to import hay or barley grain constantly to have a cavalry force.
>>
>>2180132
Figured it out, you have to talk to the unit in your party. No more naked legions.
>>
>>2182187

while i was wondering what to do, Derthert died and i was elected king.
i abdicated and chose the clan of my first character's wife way back then as the king.
with Derthert's death, the vow i gave died with him, especially since the stupid system is elective monarchy.
i kept the lands expecting an all out war until i can peace out but it turns out you can talk to any lord and buy peace. the cost was 249k.
i married a girl from Pethros and swore allegiance to my forever Empress.
she rewarded me by sieging Jalmarys and giving it to me.
i sieged Lageta and recieved it too.
now THIS is a good ruler.
i beat a gorillion 1k armies. i'm collecting prisoners and waiting for a chance to siege Ortysia, Garnator castle, Thractorae castle and Oristocorys castle.
i'm hoping by taking those fiefs, i can get the clans that hold previous Aserai lands to flip.
happened with Ortysia when i was with Vlandia.
i'm still wondering if i should try to steal clans for my Empress or just keep beating back armies by myself.
i think i will fight armies by myself until i cut off the Aserai fiefs and see if they would flip or not first.

Once shit stabilizes I am sure they'll come out. I'm not sure what you can do with late antiquity though given they did this weird ass quasi late antiquity but also 1000 AD.

It's a bit of a shame Calradia Rising is shifting to just our world. I'd like more modders to do that OC autism - Calradia Rising and they could come up with some fun anachronisms like still having Assyria or Kangz Egypt at the same time as Calradia and whatever the Carthaginians are called.

I played bannerlord in beta and also around the time of the proper release.

Did it ever get good? It's been around 3 years. Can someone summarise changes since release?

When I played it, it seemed like a poor copy of warband with better graphics. Something about the core gameplay loop was "off" and it seemed impossible to really take off the way you could in warband once you had half a dozen followers all with trainer ability to shit out elite units in a week.
>>
>>2184968
it's not much different.
there is a 1.3.1 beta for the version that will release with war sails (2 separate maps btw) they bumped up fief income so a single town can handle its garrison and 4 player parties.
but there are still no interactions with lords.
they added 2 perks that allow you to discard weapons and armour for troops EXP that make things a bit better for training raw recruits but the AI cheats extra EXP.
the beta also added alliances at long last but it's very buggy.
don't buy war sails.
modding bannerlord heavily makes it a good game but there are no mods that add proper interactions with lords.
>>
>>2184858

>>2183713
So there's no accuracy stat for throwing weapons, it's just inversely tied to the amount of damage it does?
I guess that's an easy way to make sure they are reasonably balanced though it is also a little bit completely fucking retarded.

Don't you mean Eagle rising? Last i saw they were assigning real life culture equivalents to in-lore ones like Dryatics = Dacians and such. If they're going for Europe at a specific point of time that sucks cause then its just Burning Empires but with less strong vibes.
>>
>>2185117
they are planning to do that indeed
unfortunately
one of the things I noticed with these overhaul mods with custom maps they all have their own shaders for maps and battles, if you remove them those shaders don't revert back to original state
in my case I have spent hours trying to figure why the fuck was I crashing after removing shokuho, turns out there are two folders for shaders
one in the game folder itself the other in %programdata% (reinstalling the game ignores this folder)

That's what I hope it was - a means to make charging or going up a ladder against eg Huscarls not immediate suicide. I was thinking what such a group could be to threaten Aserai (Even if that'd just shift the new kangz to be the corner-campers). But unless you gave them something wild like elephants I feel like lots of light archers and shit would just be mulched.

>>2185117
Yeah I am 90% sure I saw that they are shifting to Europe and doing that. On the other hand 1257AD was such a great Warband mod so an ancient one would be nice especially if we can get fun smaller states like Pergamon and Pontus.

Part of the appeal of M&B is that it feels like a real alternate history. Factions are certainly similar to real life kingdoms and empires, but the land itself is somehow half way between all of Europe and just Anatolia. Throwing in barely disguised real life empires just doesn't feel right.

RealisticBattleMod is a mod I'd say 'changes everything' If you use any kind of mod adding new armor/gear it will need compatibility patch to work with it. Warbandlord is just far much more compatible and can be uninstalled without it bricking your save.

I'd like TWI to expand the world precidely to have stuff fron all over the world like that. Not-China and not-Japan easter egg items, like the secret Katana in Warband are so fun, imagine a full suit of Chinese lamellar armor appear in Khuzait shops.

but why
>>
Question for real og's since I only joined around warband.
Was original M&B as barebones to (you) as was bannerlord up until warband's release or did the novelty of the game cover all that?
>>
>>2187523
It was more bare bones but at the time we expected less and the novelty did a lot of carrying.
The issue with bannerlord is that a lot of the bits that matter are a sidegrade or a downgrade so we end up with a game that self sabotages what it could be.
>>
>>2187523
I played around the prerelease period and I'd say it was more novel for me in a very subjective sense. Objectively, the game had barely any features compared to Bannerlord. You just had vaegirs and swadians duking it out, and all you could really do is do some quests for the lords. There was no sieges and no fiefdoms. There was just towns you could visit and quests you could do for the various lords.

What muddies the waters for anyone who actually played back then is mods. While the game itself was incredibly bare bones, the game had a truly vibrant mod scene already at the prerelease period. Owning and managing fiefs was modded in a long time before it was added to the actual game. There was a test castle and test sieges in the game, so those mechanics were implemented a long while before they actually saw use in native.

It was such a novel experience of cavalry warfare as a little babbu I didn't need anything but blasting rock music and running around on horseback.

As much as in many ways games have declined since then (some much worse than others), in other ways it has gotten much better. There's really just no denying to me that warband was better than M&B, and Bannerlord is better than Warband by and large. It's simply that the improvements are not commiserate with the amount of time passed.

If M&B2 had released in 2015 or 2016 it'd have been fantastic (warband was 2010). It coming out in 2021 or so, and then taking 5 more years to get any meaningful content, just makes you go "Where's the beef?"

It's essentially an artbook with concept art, a media player for the game's soundtrack and an interactive map of Calradia with some basic info on each faction.
It's kinda cool, but nothing extraordinary about it.

The best thing about it is that it also adds a unique audiobook detailing the travels of an Imperial scholar across the whole of Calradia as he catalogues the people and culture he meets, all while serving as a messenger for Istiana. The voice acting is good and I like that it adds extra lore on certain places and people that appear in the game, and it comes with illustrations.

Mainly my problem is the factions they gave them to, on one hand Aserai have a mix between axes and mace which is cool i guess, Sturgians ONLY have the maces, they should also get bardiches to fit the slavic varangian type aesthetic, game is already putting 14th century armor in so it doesnt matter.

If anything the Khuzaits and Vlandians should be the ones to have an emphasis on two handed maces.

Just tested new Line breakers vs legion. About 10 matches commanding line breakers and 10 legion. Amazed that now line breakers can actually win sometimes as opposed to previous tests where they lost almost always.

As legion
If legionnaires are defending then they lose - 2h mace wins reach and legion must break formation to hit.
Else if you're attacking as legion you're golden - you don't need a lot of space to swing 1h weapons so bros can gang up on sturgians. Throwing axes are annoying so probably best to rush.

As sturgia
Attacking is your only option. If you defend you will get ganged up upon.
Fastest way is to force enemy to shield wall by throwing axes. Once they are defending, attack before they throw pilum. If they try to counter they usually lose a few men.

couple of things
short quest lugging your "palaic fruit" piece around, which concludes in Husn Falq
if your clan is higher than rank 2 you get few pennies for your trouble and nothing happens, if it is lower you get access to "Bureau" where you can train units into these ass creed larpers, personal trainer that trains your skill (provided you sit in a city) and your ass creed larp gear
Husn Falq itself is remade to resemble masyaf with fortress up the hill, there is also new arena and prison

while anything is better than what Bannerlord has right now i really wish someone came up with something better than Warband courting mechanics, they're "fine" but they are also barely gameplay because learning the poems is so detached. Maybe the maidens would like it if you went out and did shit they liked, like
>generous = likes it if you've done quests for peasants and villagers lately
>tight fisted = likes it if you've made a lot of money on trade and taxes
>cruel = likes it if you've executed any prisoner or if you have a high kill count personally
>calculating = likes it if you've won battles with lopsided results, maintain high influence and brokered many deals/diplomatic alliances
>valor = likes anyone who's gone into difficult battles and has been injured a lot

So your courting involves actually engaging in the gameplay and your choice of wife.marriage proposals correspond to the kind of character you're building just as much as "how many eggs does she have" and "is this good for my clan". Imagine winning a legendary battle and immediately seeing a rush of letters from all over Calradia wanting a ride.

Nigga, if you are going off-board, you are dead, so the fact you are swimming or not isn't changing shit. It's just pure pragmatism, than whatever bullshit stuff you are imagining.
Military vessel is NOT going to change or return for a single crewman.
A merchant vessel is NOT going to waste time or effort to save a single crewman.
And also, if you are sailor, you don't need to know how to swim, because not a single task in your job actually requires this skill for anything
And all of that without mentioning hypothermia.

For that to work, you would need 10x the number of cities (and thus also villages and castles) AND a completely different economic model of the game, especially the way how income for lords, clans and kingdoms is generated.
It's flat-out impossible to do what you want, simply because villages as such do not generate taxable income nor can they be controlled independently (like in original M&B)

The only application of swimming I can come up with is race sailing using cabin-less yacht classes. They are very unstable and topping-over is a regular occurence, so you need to stay afloat to put your vessel back on water and continue sailing/racing.
But that's pure leisure activity and low-key sporting, so nothing you would need to know as a practical skill, even back in the Age of Sail

What about the time Marc Antony jumped overboard and swam to another ship to flee a battle?

But their grandkids will see release of war sails.

I remember this really good mod where you played in china and started off as a farmer boy whos family get killed. You get conscripted into the army but at some point given your own small army. It was surprisingly solid and fun but I can't fucking find it anymore
>>
everyone keeps saying how Prophecy of Pendor is hyper grindy
anyone care to elaborate as to why?

>bandits from the get go have level 30+ units
>changing a single equipment piece that your custom knighthood order troops that you had to get a super special gem to be able to found by defeating a 700 man army spawn with your party engaging it forst and not any other party and winning the rng roll to capture the spawn leader then ransoming him for the gem requires several weeks
>>
>>2191747
>only way to reliably earn money and renown early game is to enter practice matches in the arena
>tournaments require you to grind renown
>bandits are too strong to fight early on
>trading and raiding nerfed
>best source of income later in the game is grinding bandits for treasure drops
>has a win condition that requires you to befriend the elves
>elves start as hostile and only way to increase rep with them is to bait bandits into their territory so you can help them in battle
>>
>>2191884
Also forgot to mention that everything is expensive and workshops are nerfed too
>>
>>2191884
>requires you to befriend the elves
So I'm never going to play it then. FUCK THE KNIFE EARS (in both senses of the term)

>Make expansion where you turn the Slavs into a shitty cuck faction that'll get assraped off the map faster than Battania.

Is RBM *actually* required for Erik’s Troops on EoE1100?
I can’t fucking stand dying from two arrows
>>
>>2190890
Naval battles aren't just high speed multi track drifting until gunpowder era. So you fall overboard you swim and try and climb back up rather than "guess I'll die". Also these happened so close to the coastline as a general rule that if you are able to dip out of your heavy shit you can try and swim your way back.
>>
>>2192352
You can disable some RBM shit in the settings.

>You serious? With the awful inventory system you want to create even longer lists? Most of these items don't serve a purpose as is.
The point would be to create purpose for items, villages shouldnt have just one resource production and there should be a lot of workshops sucking up trade items to create added value instead of demand being random as hell. Like construction tools and materials would spike in demand from projects and town upgrades, repairs after sieges, etc. High class shit like fine furniture, art and jewelry should add a small, steady prosperity rating when a town has it in its "inventory". But mostly having a lot more variety in items means a lot more wealth to trade for other shit without destabilizing an economy from buying everything at once, more things that are consumed at different rates so shortages and surpluses don't hit all at once, and more liquidity for markets without just giving everone more denars or economy-busting levels of surplus. Besides for immersion purposes there's no way people are throwing fucking oak wood on a furnace to make coal.

>Economy is a joke anyways - "value" is created out of nowhere. Be it troops wearing 100k equipment being upgraded for a couple of coins or cities generating money out of nowhere to buy stacks of overpriced Javelins that cost 300 to make and sell for 30k

The implication i always took is that equipment is second hand bought and paid out on loans. If you wanted to fix that you could have upgrades not be instant and instead take several ingame days and not paid upfront but with a bonus added onto their wages over time.

For a troop tree mod, would you consider giving a second 'Noble' T6 unit to each faction?
If so, which should it be, considering each of the factions specializations and overall identity?
>>
>>2192747
There are enough troop trees imho. Everyone's got something now as opposed to hard specialization of warband.
>>
>>2192751
I guess my beef with Bannerlord's troop specialization for factions is that there's 7 factions and 4 of them have Melee cavalry as their Elite unit, With only one Archer, One Horse Archer and (with the Nords) one melee infantry unit.
It makes sense for cavalry to be the Elite unit of factions, since it reflects the contemporary reality of the cultures they represent, but I think it would be fitting if at lease some of those had some variety to their units.

there is enough units but If I had to pick
>Vlandia
Elite crossbowman with polearm
Vlandia's main selling point was always maintaining cavalry supremacy, unit that can threaten at long and short distances would work
>Empire
2 handed axe heavy armored unit, something resembling the varangians, only 2 handed axe, somewhat poorer athletics but good 2 handed skill
>Sturgia
Foot archer with shield, well balanced stat to double as both archer and effective foot troop, same theme as Druzhinnik cavalry
>Batannia
Crossbowman with a 2handed sword, no particular reason just wanted batannia to have Xbows
>Aserai
Foot Javelin thrower, 3x javelins and one one handed sword, very high athletics, mediocre combat stats, resembling their theme of outmaneuvering opponents
>Khuzait
heavily armored one handed sword and shield, think iron warriors of from china, sometimes come with a polearm, no secondary weapons, poor athletics, high armor
khuzait foot sluggers are not great, give them a leg up

looking forward to it
war sails reminded me today of a legend of soldier from Hungarian history Diver Kund (Buvár Kund)
allegedly a soldier in 11th century was responsible for defeat of HRE forces after their fleet sunk trying to siege Bratislava (it was part of Hungarian kingdom at the time, city was called Pozsony), by drilling holes in various Holy Roman Empire ships
most likely made up (ship's wooden frame is fairly sturdy, and current was strong at the time, nevertheless both German and Hungarian sources mention how destruction of the fleet was abrupt, so maybe his sabotage did achieve something
>>
>>2192864
Why would you buy it, its exclusively single player content with most of items already in the game that won't even apply to MP. Hell its basically beta Sturgia we were promised and even had.
