anyone here playing the new update for starship troopers: terran command? i've only played a few missions, but they're pretty fun.
>>
The game is OK I guess

they FINALLY released territory mode? i guess i'll give it a try then. i really enjoyed the base campaign then was disappointed by the expansions they put out. didn't like the new units and i found the mission design to be tedious and focusing on the least fun aspects of the game.
but the new maps in the trailers look like a step in the right direction

am i reading this right? it's not a risk-style campaign map, just something akin to how Company of Heroes maps have territories and control points?

i found that the base campaign was great but a little too slow in the beginning to teach you the game, didnt care much for the raising hell dlc, but really liked the city dlc and it was fun/tough. the few maps i've played are fun.

it's similar to coh, yeah. the controlpoints give stars to buy units/upgrades/buildings/etc. each unit you call in lowers your income. there's a bar at the top that slowly fills over time and allows new arachnid types to show up, calls a bug horde, etc.
the overworld just has you selecting various missions on the different planets to do. some missions unlock new techs/units for you to use. no research/units carry over from previous missions (from the few missions i've played), so you have to spend your stars in each mission to research riflemen tech/engineers/building towers/etc like in most RTS games.

>no research/units carry over from previous missions
That's kinda pointless. So it's just an elaborate skirmish mode instead of a proper game mode.

When would you say it became great? I played some dozen missions back when it came out and got bored to tears.

Saw this, reinstalled. The game is still pure braindead dogshit.

you quit right before it becomes great. it becomes great on mission 13
>>
>>2182459
unironically, it's around mission 12/13/14 where the game starts getting difficult/fun on the brutal difficulty. cant remember the exact one as i played the campaign a year ago, but its around there.

>pure braindead
it's not braindead at all
>>
You don't have to autistically bump your shit thread on a board this slow. Dumbass.
>>
Its trash
>>
none pvp rts is lame.
alright game got some neat elements would have liked to give it a shot in pvp with all the choke points and formations stuff, transports and all that would have been neat with a real opponent. insted you are slowly just wipeing out bugs from their holes.

the game sadly isn't finished, recent updates have shown promise though
