>>2198233Wait did indogs actually do this what the fuck
>>2198459you don't like the herds?
>>2198364Imagine ck3 had end of the world events where you had the literal biblical or quranic or buddhist end of the world and the antichrist spawned on the map and did a WC as every member of your religion with above sinner piety was raptured.Reminds me of the time i made a mod that kills every member of a culture its really funny how inheritance ends up if you thanos-snap all french people in 867

>>2198468I don't like khazars blobbing into europe and middle east by 950
>>2198472frankly ck2 had some BULLSHIT like that sometimes
>>2198481For me, it's the fact that they never seem to settle, like there's always this cancer from khazaria perpetually dragging down the region, tribals eventually feudalize but nomads never get the hint
>>2198476Based & Bluepilled
>>2198486Can't blame them, having an army that would shit on pre-nomad-dlc Genghis 3 centuries earlier is pretty good.
>>2198486It would be akin to buffing one random type of government, say fucking Nahua states, and having them never changing into modern forms and just invading europe and beating the shit out of everyone....oh wait a minute
>>2198472Like Trench Crusade?
Why is shinto so trash?
>>2198551The other Shinto flavor gives 15% research speed. That's pretty good by itself.
>>2198551Since all of the holy sites are right there just make your own versionMight as well since it doesn’t have any flavor
>>2198551>>2198589For example I made a new version as the emperor and called it Imperial Shinto as the head of faith replacing the ancestor tenate for communion and larped as if Shinto was being institutionalized by the state but 900 years earlier and kept the other two tenets for rp autism

>>2198788Lore accurate
>>2198788Can you raid as an Adventurer?
>>2198826I raid (eatates via that one criminal contract that lets you get like 700 gold from a nobles estate)
>>2198832That's treasury heist. You have actual raid for captives contracts as well.
>>2198832Oh well, kinda piss you have to hope for specific contracts and can't just attack goyim at will.
Had fun getting the Mandala cheevo, probably actually the most fun of the new governments. I tried to do a run where I'd convert all of Japan to Confucianism as the Kong (Confucius' family) but because the Yamato don't know how to breed I ended up having a relative inherit the throne of Japan which stops me becoming Shogun even after taking over the regency as a Soryo. As an aside, I think I like SEA girls.
The treasury mechanic seems to be a scam for the top ruler.Tried playing an admin empire and my income is completely fucked if I want to maintain a decent army, need the entire left stewardship tree just to not go broke.I played a lot of admin before, even including meme kingdoms like the isle of mann, and it never was this bad.
>>2198233That map is so big. Is it at all realistic to do whacky stuff like migrating from Norway to Japan and changing the culture over to Norse?
Okay, what's the point of Syncretism, if Hostile and Evil are pretty much the same status diplomacy-wise?
>>2198913>migrating from Norway to JapanIt's the current ck3 version of "make germany bigger" for map painting games.
>>2198919You can intermarry with religions you have Syncretism with, it's really pretty useless though unless you want to play a chill reformed Pagan land in Europe or Africa and keep intermarried with your Christian / Muslim neighbours (even then, you can still get Crusaded). It's pretty shit though, yeah.
>>2198847What's the vassal cap like at higher ranks? Can you run an actual empire?I might try an indian hegemony mandala run, ideally by getting rid of actual indians on the way.
>>2198972Yeah, you can. I think you could probably do Hegemony India. I controlled basically everything not in China / India (including the Phillipines, Taiwan and Ryukyu but not Japan) at the top end directly or through vassals and wasn't really managing them too well plus I had a few vassals in the Dravidian lands of India and was spilling into Tibet. I did sometimes have to stop and give out Kingdoms or transfer vassals but I still had tons of Ducal/Count vassals (because I didn't really need to use making Duchies for Prestige). You'd probably just need some big Kings. I was going to do Hegemon myself but I started on one of the Indonesian Islands and couldn't be bothered waiting for troops to raise and didn't want to move my Capital out of my Temple Complex. It shouldn't be an issue with some.
Are Accolades and Legends worth it? Never bothered with either mechanic.
>>2199065How far can that thinking go, like what is the comfiest title to play as if you want to focus on benign neglect?
korea is being ruled by a single baby with whooping cough
>>2199065Legends are good because of the extra benefits from completing them (i.e. special buildings, flipping tons of provinces to your religion, free subjugation CBs, claims with specific ones, etc) and the Legitimacy can be really good, especially when you're trying to build it up for example for the Mandala governments. Accolades are strong but need too much micromanagement and you can just beat the AI with men at arms counter anyway.
How come a horselord was able to attack one of my vassals without calling me into the war? There is a protect vassal interaction, but it needs the war to last 3 years (which it won't). Also, I have a truce with him from the war. I conquered the province from him, so I can't attack him that way either.
>>2199186Let's talk about his quasimodo fetish first. What's up with that?
Is the God-King system any good? Can it be added to custom religions of different faiths?
Has anyone else had the game crash every single time since the update? No mods, steam windows version, I have space available. I can’t even open it. My laptop isn’t incredible but it can run much higher spec games without any issues.I uninstalled and might just reinstall to make it clean but also this company really annoys me rn so it might not even be worth it
>>2199345It's gimped feudal with an additional piety grind. Yes but it's not worth it imho.
>>2199345I think it's fun. You basically just bully everyone around you into giving you stuff. You kind of are always dropping tributaries so you have stuff to do at all times and it encourages you to regularly interact with your neighbours. There's not much of a piety grind. You can use a custom religion, it just has to be Polytheistic. >>2199350I've crashed a few times, usually when I line up interactions (like demanding tribute) and just as it's going.
>>2199378>You can use a custom religion, it just has to be PolytheisticRather disappointing.
>>2199420Why? You can make any religious group you want Polytheistic (including Islam/Christianity/Judaism). You just have to choose Polytheistic.
>>2197259>>2197273Why are you so asspained by someone having fun? Go fuck yourself. If I want to go into devmode in GoT mod and give Ned Stark a dragon and free the north with it, and post about it, I'm going to

Any news on the WC3 conversion mod? Loved my Garithos playthrough a few dlc back.
>>2199561Why wouldn't you chud-dono?
>>2199563I think it should also give you access to activities/decisions of both faiths and also make all holy sites applicable for pilgrimage. E.g.If you had an islamic faith that was syncretic with an Indian faith Mecca, Medina, Jerusalem + Indian holy sites should all be available pilgrimage targets. For the decisions, if you made a Christian faith that was Syncretic with Zoroastrianism you should have the ability to declare yourself Sashoyant. For activities, you can use both faiths festivals or celebrations or funerals and the like.It would actually make syncretic religions interesting, unique and fun to play and make up for the massive downside of losing a tenant.
>>2199589I'd say it would make them utter bullshit rather than interesting. Syncretism is tolerance towards it, with opinion, CB, marriage and relics relaxed and usable. What you're asking is for double religion.
>>2199075Wait how does he not have a regent i think that's a bug
>>2199594Interesting headcanon you have of the English language, anon, but unfortunately that's not what syncretic means at all.The word you're thinking of is tolerant, and religious tolerance is managed in game with the religious stance doctrine (pluralistic, righteous, fundamentalist).Look at pic relThe game also uses actual IRL examples of fusion religions that combined ideas from multiple faiths to have the "Syncretic" TennantEg:>Mandeaism>Yazidism>Mingism And a shit ton more.
>>2199618I understand the king's english is not your native language and that you're both brown, shit encrusted and salty over colonial legacy but do behave. Syncretism as is currently in game is perfectly fine. Even bit stronger than that under certain conditions. And well if you don't see it try pulling your head out of your ass for a clearer view.
>>2199636Pretending to be a retard achieves nothing but just making you seem like an actual retard. I don't know what you're hoping to achieve with this.
>>2199573Based Garithos enjoyer.
I’m shocked I’ve had to ask this so many times, can other ethnicities get the geisha makeup if they are jap culture and if so what do they look like? I want to see funny groids and papuans in geisha makeup.
Other than Han, which is the best Chinese culture to hybridize with?
>>2199656I just want to talk about the game but you seem to have a stick up your dilated ass for some reason.>>2199658Name one other character worthy of playing that's both meme worthy, lore worthy, white, not a knife ear and in a challenging/fun world map position. Seriously name one other if you can I'm tired of dealing with immortal Sylvanas and her base 50 intrigue bullshit.
>>2199661Yes any ethnicity can wear the geisha makeup, they look the same.>>2199677Why can't you just hybridize with Han?
>>2199686Because I want to take the Han out, not make them stronger.
>>2199711Then why Hybridize at all? You can just convert their provinces to your culture if you want to genocide them.
>>2199679I had some fun playing as Stormwind during the Dark Horde invasion. I conquered the southern half of the Eastern Kingdoms and installed culturally and religiously human half breeds from all the major dynasties like Cho’gall, Frostwolf, Shadowmoon, Blackhand, etc. I installed Lothar in Black Morass. I also managed to seduce a few of the dragon aspects.Doing the Frostwolf migration and taking one of the other options like Northrend or Dun Morogh could be interesting but last I tried it was pretty barebones and it wasn’t really feasible to survive. Two more playthrough, again not a ton of flavor but they just seem interesting from an RP perspective. The first, playing the Blood Trolls in Zand’alar and taking over, AND shifting from gay old god worship to the Zul’gurub blood god worship. And finally playing as the Shadow Trolls in Hyjal and fighting the remnant satyrs and lesser demons. I like taking demon concubines and converting to the demon religion. The racial blending system in the WC mod is crazy impressive and I always find myself heavily utilizing it in all my campaigns.
>>2199711Your hybrid culture won’t be the same, you can hybridize with them and then “wipe them out” even faster because of the conversion bonus to the cultures you hybridized from
>want to become the grand commissariat>get promoted>promotion fails because I'm already a ministerthis shit is so ass
>>2199736>The racial blending system in the WC mod is crazy impressive and I always find myself heavily utilizing it in all my campaigns. No argument but last time I *utilized* it I ended up with a dragon/orc/elf/human/highelf/goblin/urist/demon/something heir that was functionally immortal and for some reason locked into murloc graphics. On the bright side the mod doesn't seem quite abandoned.
>>2199762Also there is something wrong with the AI, my heirs get little to no merit and by the time I die I have to start from scratch everytime.
>>2199768you have to make them your disciple and have them train merit. the estates are also bugged and your sons wont travel with you to an exam unless you move your domicile every time you get a new assignment.
This decision is bugged since the 50 bloc cohesion never ticks regardless of your actual cohesion right
>>2199780Ah I see, thanks but I think I'll wait for a patch and try playing in China again then
>>2199186The actual answer is that this is the new border wars mechanic, which is supposed to make it so that large realms or empire-tier titles can slowly be chipped away at the borders instead of calling the entire might of the Byzantine army every time a small border county is attacked. Basically an anti-blob mechanic.Theoretically, it's supposed to make it so that making your border provinces militarized is a better idea, as well as trying to not have isolated counties and instead having the entire duchy. Practically, it just means big realms trade counties every so many years since there's no check that the attacker also isn't an empire or large realm. It'd be better if it was limited to counts/dukes fighting each other.
>>2199781I think it's actually 75, or has some additional condition, but it can be fulfilled
>>2199929Mine sat at 100 before for a long time and that box never got fulfilled (granted I never tried pressing it since I didn’t have centralized governance but still saw the cohesion one not checked out)
>>2199573They're currently updating it
Crazy how much better the character models look in EUV
Starting out with maxed out breasts and body fat and it’s true japs are incapable of having big tits
>>2199931The code seems to just check for 75 cohesion, but I'm no modding expert. Also the aspiration check is wrong and just checks cohesion again.
>>2199946Figured it out, they implemented it in a retarded way. Each aspiration type has it's own separate definition, and only strength has that flag at 75, so it doesn't actually check cohesion level, that's why it's the same check twice.
Guys I actually prefer bureaucratic Japan government and the white faced makeup
>>2199970no
>>2199957Is the decision with strength aspiration bugged or something I don’t really understand.
>>2199987Those 2 conditions are broken in 2 separate ways:1. The text is wrong, it's 75, not 502. It checks for neither strength aspiration nor cohesion value, but for any combination of aspiration and level that has a specific flag, which, at the moment, only strength at 75+ cohesion has.So you can still do it, but what it says has nothing to do with how it actually works.
>>2199970I like it too but I don't believe the system in ck3 is designed to run Ritsuryou longterm, considering the never-ending whack-a-mole with Souryou vassals
>>2200021nta but I'd whack those vassals all day erry day if I had something to do after uniting japan. At least something cool around invading Korea or fighting horsefuckers.
VGH
>>2200021I’m making like 170 gold a month at around year 920 starting as the tenno) and my vassals love me so much that I can both afford to pay them all the 70 gold needed to turn them back and they’ll always accept due to said opinion of meSince I started as the emperor and clicked the decision which united the role with the regency it says I supposedly have primogeniture but I could still pick any of my children as the prime heir including women and everything goes to them without any fuse of using admin to stay in power I haven’t seen if the highest government authority forbids vassals from switching like it’s supposed to yet or if it’s bugged like I saw others mentioned in earlier threads

>>2200042>I haven’t seen if the highest government authority forbids vassals from switching like it’s supposed to yet or if it’s bugged like I saw others mentioned in earlier threadsFWIW, I just booted up in debug mode, put in "add_realm_law_skip_effects japanese_bureaucracy_3", and let the game run while controlling the Super Tenno and not a single vassal has swapped to Souryou by 882there's also a requirement placed upon Ritsuryou blocking the Souryou decision if the current top liege has Centralized Governance (tier 4 law/japanese_bureaucracy_3) but if there's some sneaky bug then that wouldn't amount to muchalso tried it in a separate run with similar cheats slapped on after making three vassals go Souryou. No one else swapped, one of the Souryou survived a "no u" gangbang from nearby Ritsuryou, another took a county off a Ritsuryou via aggressive war despite the crown law stating non-administrative vassals are blocked from declaring war so IDK what's up with that one. The third Souryou sat on his hands and no one bullied him, though the house bloc he was leading either kicked him out or imploded from lack of cohesion.I assume it's the same if you enact the maximum law as Kampaku as opposed to an installed Tenno, but I gotta do other stuff.

>>2199740Hybrid cultures are also still broken in that if you make a hybrid culture between a European and non-European culture the characters of that culture will end up 90% ethnically European.
>>2200400is the inverse also true, ie if a Han hybridizes with Norse the majority of the resulting generated characters will be ethnically Han?
>>2200403Depends on what the ethnicity percentage Han is in the culture file
>>2200403No the bug is because of the way ethnicities are weighted, most European cultures have their ethnicities set to 100 while non-European cultures have theirs set to 10. The culture hybridization mechanic just merges the ethnicities of the two cultures so the non-European ethnicities will only have a 10/110 chance to appear.
>>2200427well that's stupid, I'd expect norse for example to be a very small minority that could only hold a realistic hope to affect fashion and some cultural practices if they hopped over to india or east asia

This is fucking stupid.Nowhere it says that:Court Officials innovationthe Crown of JustinianThe last fucking legacy in the law tree.Aren't supposed to work for the government, you spend decades getting the innovation, lucking out the artifact and thousands of renown to get the legacy and then the game is just "OOPS NOT FOR YOU", I can accept Stewardship not working to increase the cap but not all the rest.
>>2200557If you hover over the government type you have it says your domain is tied only to your manor house I think
Just about to finish my SEA campaign, I'm waiting for my current character to die so I can finally hit Godlike pietyOverall, it was pretty fun, but the 10 feasts requirement for the Aspect of Serenity were pretty annoying to get Just a lot of sitting around getting tributaries and vassals diplomatically while waiting for the 5 year cooldown to end.90%+ of the land I have, I didn't even conquerHonestly, it was the region I was least interested to play, but it turned out to be the one I liked the most with it's unique mechanics.I would recommend you try it once with one of the other paths, unless you, for some reason, really enjoy spamming hunts, feasts and other activities while constantly using the befriend scheme
>>2200570The Manor is maxed out here giving a limit of 5 and the Architect lifestyle also increases it by 1 but every other thing that says that it increases the limit doesn't, I'm especially pissed off that it means that wasting tends of thousand of renown for the last law legacy gives a whole load of nothing.

Hopefully some of those hyper-autistic Chinese modders make some mods that add actual content to China. I played two characters there and feel like I've seen everything there is to see
Which of the 3 start dates does China seem the most stable? I want to play a character there but i dont want the country to explode halfway through climbing the corpo ladder.
>>22012651066 is probably the most stable

>>2201327I agree they need more but its also funny when kids get that big poofy one. It looks hilarious on them.
Is there eunuch and concubine mechanic for china?
>>2201406Concubines - yes, they're religion based. You can usually have up to 3, but the Emperor can have 20 (and set them aside whenever). I advise modding out the child cap if you ever become Hegemon, just for fun. Eunuchs you have to demand your neighbours give you them as tribute.
Want to do a John Wycliffe game, going to convert all of Japan and England to Lollardy. Have to wait a hundred years for him to show up, though. Is there a Cultural Tenet that makes it easier to convert people? I'm the Head of Culture for England as the Duke of York (for now).
>>2200797Only with mods
>>2201428Communal identity which boosts conversion for counties of identical culture but it’s pretty ass because it slows it down for counties of a different culture. I think you just have to deal with it with fervor and learning lifestyle perks

I'm thinking of getting into the ck3. How is it so far compared to ck2?
>>2200770Pretty much every culture does this. You usually have your house crest on your waffenrock
>>2201562My what
>>2201553The funnest part of ck2 for me was that area of kinda knowing what you’re doing but not knowing everything since once you do the game gets really boring. That being said that middle period with ck2 was the most fun I had playing a paradox game. When you start out ck3 you immediately get into that middle fun area for a while which I valued but it depends on you. Also this game is more sims like and the true end game is genuinely playing the sims so if you had fun with it that’s another bonus.
>>2201571Forgot to add that you only get into that fun period because you’ve already had experience with ck2, not because of any merit ck3 has on its own. Just that it’s new but also you already know basic shit on how to play
>>2201553Less fantasy shit, fancier looking. Just as easy/simple to play. No merchant republic memes as of yet.
>>2199545This is why pr*ts were exiled to the new world.
The Emperor of Korea managed to unite China and his title (Gugwang) supersedes the Hungadi title which is interesting. I thought that the Ten'no is actually lower than the Hungadi when I've seen Japan China but maybe I was wrong. I think he's also still the Ceremonial Monarch (Youngson Throne), not sure how that works in China though.

When playing the military career in China do the provincial armies follow you if you get promoted? Just wondering if its worth the money to invest in them at all.
>>2201761Last I checked it was base fertility 6 + 2 for every additional partner up to a soft cap of something like 15-20. But concubines didn't count towards that so you could cycle them for more and more and yet more brats. 62 is a very rough and very conservative number I came up with, realistically it's probably 2-3x that with 20 concubines and 4 wives.
>>2201774Intuitively I don’t think they do. I think they’re meant for the top ruler to order their vassals to make and commandeer them (I saw the option to do that in Japan) or if you need extra men at arms at the moment to win

I haven't even touched China myself yet unless you count Meritocratic Dali along its southern border, I'm mostly focused on Japan/invading Japan as a viking. I don't like Meritocratic as Dali, the Gao family in 1066 going off start description of their king is supposed to be some uppity family that planted the king on the throne but they don't actually do shit and are loyal as any other. Would rather them be Feudal, which they are in base game like everyone else(?) in East Asia.currently you'd be getting the paradox special when it comes to bugs and general jank. How do you take over China as a governor? If you are independent, you get a straightforward cb, but what do you do when you are already inside?
>>2203299Probably the easiest option would be to marry yourself or your heir to the royal family, wait for (or expedite) the emperor's death, then start a claimant faction to turn that royal your married into the empress. From there you can wait for your dynasty to take the throne when the empress dies, or you can kill her and dynasty-claim the throne from your son/grandson to get it right away.

>>2203307I'm pretty sure the daughters of the emperor don't get a claim as it is inherited with a males only rule.Really the more I think about it, the harder it is to do it in any reasonable amount of time.Secretary is a diarch, who could overthrow if you somehow get all the way up to max power, which is beyond hard to do due to how unreliable it is.Getting the dynastic cycle to division is "the way it is meant to be taken over", but getting there in the first place is ridiculous due to countless factors keeping it stable. The only, somewhat reliable way to achieve division that I have found is to repeatedly assassinate the emperor until an heir has 0 legitimacy, which does cause the hegemony title to instantly shatter. That does of course not account for the fact that you must now conquer all of China without you being a decent commander or steward who has the tools to do so easily.Meanwhile, an outside ruler can just instantly declare war for the entire title in one go during the tension era, or push China towards tension with constant wars.

Should I get CK3? I hear CK3 was shit compared to CK2.
>>2206542In some ways it's better, in others it's worse. Culture mechanics are legit cool and a definite upgrade. Military, Feudalism, Religion is worse. There are also features that have been added over timer that are either broken and OP or just dumb. Struggles are cool one paper, but you're usually at the whim of the AI and have to build to a specific outcome, if you don't get what you want, tough shit, you have to wait for it to loop back. Admin (byzantine) gov is cool because now you have unhanded families that can take part in the internal politics, but with very little effort, you make insane amounts of money, have a massive army and can technically unlock primogeniture many centuries before unlocking the tech itself, basically, its very overpowered. Adventurers (unhanded characters) are finally here. But they can raise and maintain massive men-at-arms with no real monetary drawback, making them very overpowered. Conquerors are also horribly OP and are way too common. Basically, the game suffers from power creep. I haven't touched the newest DLC and I don't care for it because I never wanted any of that shit in the first place (scope creep).

Apparently if you are homosexual and go to a tournament with few enough guests, the random event that starts a seduce scheme against you can use yourself as the seducer without checking whether that makes any sense, so this happened to me
>>2205328This is the one thing i dont like. I dont mind the RNG random appointments but i do wish there was a way to influence it if you got high enough rank, so like you spend the early part of your characters rank just getting appointed where you end up, but as you rise in power you can some sorta say in it. I never know what to actually do in these provinces i get because of it. Why do i care about building buildings there when i wont get the benefit of them in the long term? Eloping or kidnapping doesn’t give you an alliance thoughbeit, and seems a bit dumb that that’s the only reliable way to marry someone landed. Characters that do a great deed for the state should be knighted and or more willing to marry a family member to them. Of course, the game is too shallow to actually allow for something like that.
>>2208021True. Well, if they're not high on succession and little girls usually are not you can abduct the bride to be herself. Going to do an all Europe game, starting as Norse (I'm going get the 100 Runestones Cheevo as well), hitting Spain then going West and merging with European cultures every 50ish years until I have one big European Culture (going to turn off AI culture mixes / divergences and convert all of Europe). Will grab Arabia and Maghreb as well just so I can be the Roman Hegemon. Just wondering, what are the best unique Culture Traditions to pick up across Europe? I will pick up the French one for the Chivalrous Knights LARP and keep Northern Stories but what else is there? I mostly hang around England and France so am not familiar with the other cultures in Europe.
Can we have multiple soulmates yet or does Paradox still reject free love?
>>2207327This is a hella good fix.It made my Japan way more playable and fun. Intra-duchy conflicts for domination still happen (likely as a faction conflict) and might involve some other allied counties abroad as well, but no more constant inter-duchy free for all. Also, holy fuck Japan has a lot of earthquakes. In ~70 years I got 3 severe quakes, decimating my local dynasty, with two hitting the exact same spot. Adding it together with the insane "regular" plague spawn is no joke.
>>2208364Unfortunately, plagues are necessary by design to keep worldwide development from ballooning out of proportion. It's so easy to build tall, especially with manor houses.

>>2207440people are calling you retarded and accusing you of not playing the game because of both how the soryo system works in practice and how the game tells you it should workThe game outright tells you that at a certain government level soryo vassals are forbidden from declaring war on each other. Why would the game intend to work like that? Because soryo vassals want nothing more to attack others without considering the japanese bloc system. In practice this means if a vassal attacks another vassal, you legit get pulled into the war yourself if you are part of the defending bloc which can lead you to fighting a perpetual civil war practically every year against half your vassals. You're saying shit like have high opinion or punish vassals better legit does not matter. You can have 100 opinion for every single vassal in your realm, 100 dread, have quite literally executed entire families who declared war previously, and they will keep continuing to declare war on each other because the soryo system without a shogun is supposed to represent the constant civil war japan faced until the shogun took over and put a stop to it, which the game tries and fails to do legit because that line of code is broken despite it also telling you in the tooltip it does.

How's the game decide what vassals remain and which counties come under your direct control after a holy war?
>>2208823If the vassals religion is astray or higher, they’ll be allowed to keep their land after a holy war. If you wage a catholic holy war in Syria and there’s an orthodox count in Damascus, the count keeps Damascus (becomes your vassal) and if everyone else is Muslim, they get their shit taken away.
>>2198233>open development map>europe, india, japan, china a shithole aside from few blotches>java straight up yellow, the whole islandWorking as intended?

>>2209264i said this last thread but i do find if funny and cute every time because i think to myself gee i do wonder how these people managed to get usurped by a brutal warrior class
>>2208656It's even worse than that, because soryo vassals are suicidal and keep declaring wars even against impossible odds.I had to add these flags as well, to finally get rid of their other perma-CB that allowed counts to start domination wars against their duchy liege:flag = vassal_internal_wars_bannedflag = vassal_all_wars_bannedSoryo are so rabid, they would literally murder their own family to take over the duchy. Then give out the county titles, because they can only hold 2 domains, just to restart the cycle again. That's awful game design. The whole Sengoku Jidai shitshow happened due to the weakness of the central authority, including the absolute pussy shoguns refusing to depose the Emperor and kill off its family (who at this point were only like 300 years old after an outsider took over the line and established a new dynasty, but we are not allowed to talk about that). It makes complete sense to forbid all internal wars at high authority, just like for every goddamn country in the game.

In the permabroke cutthroat environment of geographically and culturally freagmented Europe survival of the fittest could play out, ruthless inter-state competition, nobles needing to rely on and empower burghers, innovate banking, take any opportunity to turn a profit, find better trade routes, etc. and plenty of fractures and cracks where upstart merchant classes could take root and develop like the low countries. Could plan shit well in advance and not get locked up in some shitty window for 6 months waiting for count cockbum to slowly trudge through the alps, just instant travel-to-event and boom it's popping off without any useless fucking preamble
>>2216478perfectly it should be just a longer event chain taking place in same day (which also would make more sense than month lasting feast)honestly tournaments are biggest problem with how annoying they are
>>2216427I've been meaning to check them out myself. They look pretty cool. They have their own unique cultural aesthetics in game.>>2216478>>2216485Yeah these are great ideas. Also repetitiveness is a problem. They should have had fun little mini games. Like Defender of the Crown had back in the day. You could raid your neighbors it had a little sword fighting mini game, Contests - a jousting mini game. fun as fuck.
It’s funny clicking the government map mode and see everyone have their own unique government then you scroll over India and assume you have some nonexistent Indian dlc turned off by accident or something
>>2216520>Also repetitiveness is a problem. You think it would be better if there were like, 50 more possible events in the feast event pool instead of the effectively 10-odd there are now? I've considered making a mod after seeing the peacock prank and fighting thirst events in every single one of my feasts (even in cultures where it didn't make any sense). Or would that only make feasts more tedious because now you'd have to read the events instead of automatically clicking on the option you already know is best?
>>2216520I played them, just a warning if you play Ironman usurping Japan just makes you the Ten'oh's bitch (it made me the Kampaku) so best to make your own Empire. The mechanics in Japan are still pretty buggy as well, when you take land you end up with Soryo/Ritsuryo rulers as your vassals and they can be in House Blocs across borders.
>>2216570>when you take land you end up with Soryo/Ritsuryo rulersIs that why AI ryukyu ended up with that government in my game?
>>2216607Probably, yeah. Maybe they lost it to Japan, then took the Duchy back (with Japanese vassals) and then got usurped.
kinda hoping the "pick whatever beurocratic type you're eligible for" thing slated for next week includes Ritsuryou, I'd be down for setting that jank shit up in Tibet/Iran/India
>>2216552hard to say really. Sometimes I'm in the mood to read stuff at other times you just wanna click through them. It might be because you already know them by heart though. That romance ending where you save her from an attack every time is the most retarded shit ever.
My ritsuryo vassal families refuse to breed and positions keep going to no name peasants who shit out new noble families after being landed
>>2216721You're supposed to breed them and manage every dynasty yourself
How do i remove a track from the game?Specifically the ear-bleeding piece of garbage called "Prince Of Qin's Victorious Battle Array"
>>2216749go to the three little dots at the bottom of the screen.Select music player.Just deselect the offending track.
>>2216764Perfect, thanks
Anybody know of religious mods that don't require me to have three holy sites to be able to reform a religion?I've played some mods that basically let you make your own holy sites but they were part of larger total conversion mods (After the End, Elder Kings {both nice mods})

>>2216835nice. thanks.
excellent
>forming the shogunate gives you samurai that the chinese can rape with their crossbows
Wtf is the deal with random counties suddenly going independent from my vassals every minute? Playing as hegemon chinaI keep having to give them back every few minutes
>2000 years worth of Chinese Emperors drank Mercury to become immortal (and killed themselves through Mercury poisoning)Amazing. You'd think they'd figure out it didn't work after the first few hundred years
>>2198233Mandala>celestial>japanese>wanuaCelestial would have been higher if becoming the emperor or secretary is funner.Wanua too if they didn't half bake it.
>>2211337Tenets generally suck ass, so just choose whatever fits your roleplay.Communion exploit builds might be OP, but the event spam is not worth it and it's not like money is that tight. I don't like war focused tenets either, since it's ridiculously easy to blob anyways. That being said, there are three tenets I always tend to gravitate towards. Mendicant Preachers is a large boon for conversion and stabilizing, Ecclesiarchy is situationally nice to keep the fervor high, Carnal Exaltation because why not lol.Aside those, any tenet that gives vassal & faith opinion boost is fine in my book, like Ritual Celebrations.Pursuit of Knowledge would be better if it significantly increased the occurrence of learning lifestyles among vassals. Cthonic Redoubts is good, but highly situational, Monasticism is basically disinheritance, Dharmic Syncretism is not too bad in Asia, Unrelenting Faith is okay with female clergy.
Are all chinese women dying of fucking stress or something? I can see the Huangdi's children dying like flies from this
>>2217545It's been this way since launch, basically big families cause stress because when one dies, they all get stress, which can cause another to die and then that causes stress with causes yet another to die, and so on
Alright, I've kind of got the hang of making new events. Scoping characters is kind of a bitch but I think I know how it works now. It should be easy enough to restrict this to when you have a mentally disabled/insane, lustful, male child. I just need to figure out how to make sure it only happens if he's in the same place as the feast and to put some kind of modifier on him so it doesn't repeatedly fire.
>>2217588which vanilla animation would be closest to jacking off?
>>2217588fellow modder hereYou can either check hes at the same activity as the host via "involved_activity" or just check locationsI would recommend the involved_activity way like sotrigger = {scope:host = { scope:activity = { any_attending_character = { is_child_of = scope:host is_male = yes is_adult = yes involved_activity = scope:activity NOT = { has_character_flag = naughty_child_caught_at_feast } } }}For making sure it doesnt happen again to that specific character, I recommend using character flags like so (in your immediate section of event)scope:naughty_child = { add_character_flag = { flag = naughty_child_caught_at_feast years = 10 }}Then, you would add a single line to the above trigger, which you can already see I've done so.
>>2217644Thanks, that's really helpful. While I have you here, I watched a tutorial that said you could append to vanilla files, but I only seem to overwrite them instead. Like if I wanted to add this to the event pool for feasts, I assume I'd need to somehow get the event into the feast_on_actions file under feast_default_host_event_selection, but I'd rather append to it than have to copy the whole thing into my mod to make an edited version of it.
>>2217678This explains it probs better then I canhttps://ck3.paradoxwikis.com/Event_modding#AppendingUltimately, you need to append your events onto the feast on_action that chooses what events to select, however unfortunately I'm not 100% sure if you can add a random_on_action and it would append that to the list of random_on_actions. I've written the below with on_action in the first bit, but you could also try random_on_action and see if that appends correctly, I'm afraid I'm not sure if that works, would be great if so. Currently this would basically always guarentee your event being chosen, so I've added an empty event so that you aren't always picked.Try writing something like this in your common/on_action/activities/my_mod_feast_on_actions.txtfeast_new_event_selection_tombola = { trigger = { is_ruler = yes exists = scope:activity } on_action = { 1 = feast_my_mod_selection }}feast_my_mod_selection = { trigger = { is_ruler = yes } random_events = { chance_to_happen = 25 # A percentage chance determining whether the events involved will be evaluated at all 100 = feast_events_naughty_child.0001 # Uh oh, whats my boy doing? }}
>>2217541There's a mod that fixes the event spam from being the head of faith.
>>2217822*ask for gold spam
>>2217822I know, but doing the communion temporal head of faith exploit once was enough for me.Like I said, there is enough gold going around and there is no need to be inundated with money to such a degree. After hitting Empire rank, I can barely spend it all.I also don't enjoy the loop of microing my vassal's holdings and building hospitals in every one of them, just because I can.
Which buildings/traditions buff horse archers?I'm trying to figure out how to maximize the value of my mounted samurai as a Japanese ruler, but none of them seem to specifically call out a bonus for horse archers
>>2217973You're shitting me, right? Almost everything with "horse" boosts them in one way or another.
>>2217973Most archer cav bonuses are reserved for nomads, as they get the bulk of their stat increases from their nomadic capital upgrades.Landed rulers rely on the the horse herds building, which is locked behind the devoted horsemanship tradition. Said tradition also gives you access to the horse archer accolade.
>>2217983I just bought the game yesterday, so I'm still figuring things out. Sorry for the dumb question>>2217999Thank you
>>2218010Should've pirated imho but it's fine anon. Look for stables, horse breeders, duchy buildings and generic boosts for "stationed" man at arms as well. Collective lands or Strength in numbers gives you +damage per farm/barracks level, seafarers gives you larger company sizes etc. Accolades are busted if you can be arsed to replace the captain every so often. Artifacts can give you insane pursuit or effectiveness to certain unit types and can be boosted indefinitely at tourneys. And if you really want to be a dick to the AI my suggestion is to either use the eishi cultural horse archers since they have better terrain traits or hybridize with a mongol culture and get theirs instead. Bonus points for the latter is the access to their renown tradition. But seriously, don't sweat it. You can beat the AI with almost anything. That includes but is not limited to a whole bunch of knights with boosted effectiveness which despite being nerfed to hell can still win battles of 50 vs 50000 with enough modifiers stacked in their favor.
>>2217973there's barely any bonuses unless you're a nomad
>>2218020Thank you so much for the detailed answer. I'll stop worrying so much about it>>2218030I'm staring to realize that, but then why did they give the Japanese archer cavalry men at arms?
Shall I play AUH or wait for more patches?
>>2218050I'd say wait for the patch dropping this week in the very least
>>2218050The upcoming 1.18.1 patch is supposed to add a few extra cosmetic items and clothing to AUH + a few extra decision to take, then 1.18.2 patch they claim to want to try and released by the end of this month is meant to help "improve" gameplay when you're playing as a Chinese Minister by giving you more options to choose from if you're going through that playstyle.
>>2216427 The yamato formed a centralized state wheras the emishi were just scattered tribes, mostly hunter-gatherers or pastoralists with limited agriculture. Meanwhile, the Japanese doubled down on their rice farms and boomed, which, yes, did give them the numbers to keep on replacing losses against the emishi. It was a gradual tide with a lot of different campaigns by various seii taishōgun (literally "Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Force Against the Barbarians") who adapted new techniques over time, such as the Professionalisation of the bushi to deal with the conditions of fighting into the Kanto/Tohoku frontierhttps://youtu.be/tECdAU9l-4A?si=_obboji16unJqXGVhttps://emishi-ezo.net/
Am I doing it right?
>>2217973Two of the horse buildings in your domicile boost them either directly or with the little extra buildings associated with themThere isn’t anything else though and I ended up installing a mod that gives Japan and the Ainu an accolade knight that boosts them

I guess he lost interest in the idea since.
>>2219201princes of darkness need to focus down on shit and stop sprawling just like paradox themselves
>>2217806Looks like it's not possible. Any attempt to append to activity on_action files appears to overwrite them entirely. I've checked the files of a couple of total overhaul mods, and they've had to use an edited copy of the vanilla file so it looks like I'd have to do the same. That's a shame because that'll create compatibility problems with any mod touching that same file. I see now why practically no one has touched activity content. Or maybe I'm just the only one autistic enough to be bothered by how little flavour they have.
>>2218141How the fuck does one do this?
>>2219329RIP, at least you tried m8
>>2219490I might still give it a go. Thinking on it more, I imagine hardly any mods touch those files anyway for that very reason, so it'd probably only be total overhaul mods that would have conflicts. Anyone who cared could make compatibility patches if they really wanted my shitty mod.
What a fucking mess
So ... when's the next DLC then? In all seriousness, I want to see if they do another Community Pack I like the assets in the other ones.

>>2221044OK retard.
In case anyone was wondering, if you are in the expansion phase you can vassalize the greatest of Khans, but it costs a ridiculous amount of prestige (40,000+)However, after defeating the Khan during his invasion of China I got the Conqueror trait, didn't realise you could get this as the emperor, which also made the vassalize CB completely free - so now I control basically the entire steppe Started this game as the Kyrgys and took over tang after it collapsed with an Overrun CB and claimed the mandate, now I guess I've returned and my OG tengri family are still here in a cadet house. Pretty cool.
This doesn't look random...He even carries a big dong.
