Ok, I've seen enough. I've had my fill, I've played my money's worth. When did you realize you were done with your favorite strategy game, and that it was time to move on?

>>2220582>10k hours>0 achievements>anon must commit seppuku to reestablish his honor
>>2220586I don't want achievements. I don't want my steam friends to see what I'm up to. They don't need to know what I've done in-game.
>>2220587>I don't want my steam friends to see what I'm up to.You know that you can put them in private, right?
>>2220592I could do that, but also I want the game to be on my steam page. I want people to know I play these games, but I don't want them to see "progress" or whatever. What if one of my friends get competitive, or thinks he's better than me because he has achievements I don't have. By deliberately not getting achievements, it's a signal that I'm in it for the game itself, and I find that more noble.
>>2220582>hoi 4When I could do historical Germany runs better than the youtubers. I played OWB mod and it got me into game making, which is the next step in fun.>CoH 2When I realized that I had spent more time in WW 2 games than the time WW 2 actually lasted.>WC 3When they made it so I needed an dedicated external graphics card and ruined it by having to go through an app. Reforged ruined being able to play on just about any kind of system no matter how potato.>ranked CounterStrikeWhen I realized it was me against the matchmaking system, similar to doing random 4's in RTS games. What the hidden player skill score did more to the game than my skill could ever do.
>>2220582Will you finally stop making these dogshit threads then? Cancerous cocksucker.
I would like to create a HOI4 mod, for no WW1, with the game set in the usual period of 36' to 45'.
>>2220586I have around 5k hours on HOI4, I mainly just use it for map painting nowadays.
you've drank your fill
>>2221734>no WW1Austria-Hungary fucking dissolvesDenmark gets further cuckedIs that Bulgaria that owns Constantinople??Also, just a note here, in the event of the fall of the Austrian state, Hungary would definitely get partitioned by the powers around them, this is because the Hungarians basically registered all minorities as Hungarians as soon as they were able to speak it regardless of their opinion so they could lie to the Austrians about their numbers.
>29,99Even more then Götterdämmerung
>>2220586vanilla is just too vanilla innit
>>2221734lol
>>2250929I like Hungary's odds. They're quite a large landmass and they kicked ass in 1848. They're geographically protected from the south and north and it wouldn't be crazy to suggest an alliance with Germany to protect their west. It looks like in this scenario Germany is calling the shots in Europe so.

For MP strategy games: When the meta gets stale or something new comes out. It's nice to rotate around though between whenever has the latest hype and whatever has a fun meta. For SP strategy games: When I've beaten it thoroughly, but also when the UI becomes too unappealing. That said, if a fun game is fun I like to come back to it months or years later down the line. Older games have their niches too: I don't play WC3 everyday anymore but it's always a favorite whenever I go to a LAN.What I don't get it "I've played X billion hours of this game, I'll never touch it again." Not saying OP said that but I know a few people like that for several older games and it's just weird to me. Unless something happened to really turn me off from touching it again I won't write it off entirely.
>at war with USA on Allies' side>civil war happens>USA tag (MacArthur junta) somehow instantly flips to Allies>previous war and war scores deleted>FDR USA somehow gets control of all previously occupied territoryAnd I thought Italian civil war was cancer
>>2276415>play meme mods>get memedHow unexpected.
>>2276436>meme modsThis was vanilla
>>2276456Color me sceptical.

>>2290217As dogshit as this thread
>>2220582literally neverI replay total war atilla from time to time, always funrecently had slavic conversion wre run, most busted shit you ever see (well excluding ere which is just btter but less of a challenge, sucks to play without 2h axes tho).
>>2290217absolute shit, its an actual downgrade of japs and chink trees are those of minor nations, not something big like soviets or italians in their dlcsor even austriaabsolutely horrible
>>2290217New doctrines are kinda coolNew focus trees are kinda assNew navy stuff is a giant pain that is just a big middle finger to deathstackersCoal is just a stupid idea in general but its a non factor for pretty much any nation with a focus tree
>>2220599>What if one of my friends get competitive, or thinks he's better than me because he has achievements I don't haveHoly fuckI am amazed by this level of retardation. Truly stunning and brave.
