If you like Rise of Legends, then you are everything wrong with strategy gaming and all of gaming as a whole. The dumbing down and nonsense childish fantasy like a child smashing toys together.

Its an ok game, I like that its not just the typical lotr type fantasy.

But how would those mobile cities function? As in they can move in the vicinity of a province they are settled in? Or would they simply move out of said provinces and move around the map?

If the latter, then that would've been game-breaking since city defenses do add some punch to cities. So the Kahan player would waltz in with his army...AND his cities and go on a conquest spree.

Unironically RoN is kind of a bad game. They pretty much just took civ and made it an RTS, which the entire reason why civ works is because it's not an rts. There are waaaaaaay to many resources and things to manage in ron and the fact new resources unlock as you age up makes it worse. A lot of the ages as well feel pointless and don't add enough to make it feel like you are actually progressing. RoL is factually better in every way.

Yeah true. I hate how everything's limited by something else.
Can't have a big army because prices rise the more units you have, can't get more resources because of commerce limit cap, it's like someone played AoE2 and decided to fuck it up.
RoL does not have the same "autism appeal" of an historical setting and giant late game battles but imo it's much more fun even though I do some RoN compstomps every once in a while just so I get to nuke people.

You can really see how rushed the game was when you play the campaign. The Vinci campaign was mostly unique scenarios with 1 or 2 generic skirmishes, the Alin campaign was a 50/50 split, and the Cuotl campaign was mostly generic skirmishes with 1 or 2 unique scenarios.

I really don't mind the limitations, specially for resources given how it's unlimited. I prefer units just become more expensive as not onlt does that generally make sense to me but also a better compromise than what WC3 did with taxes.

My main issue with the game is how tedious the campaign becomes.
For some reason they decided that it should be 95% mirror matches.
