I love this game but why the fuck did they make it so grindy? Starting a new save is such a chore. Also, sex with female harpies
>>2243874Can't relate, I only play Queen's Hand TrialIs Bat dlc the last one or do they have something more, I'm not sure they have any good ideas left
Certainly a novel take on city builders but didn't hook me that much. My brother loves it endlessly and there's always a ton of posts about it in /civ4xg/ on /vg/
>>2243874>I love this game but why the fuck did they make it so grindyto get people hooked so they could launch DLC after DLC
>>2250889BTW the game is currently on sale. Are any of DLCs worth it or Vanilla is enough?
>>2256344I like the Frog expansion. I haven't gotten the Bat expansion but I might consider it some day. The bats don't look like they have fun mechanics but it also adds biomes and stuff.
>>2256014Huh?
>>2256344Vanilla game has plenty to keep you going for a while
Why would you start a new save? The peak experience is replaying prestige 15 for ever.
>>2256344DLC doesn't make the game deeper, it makes it widerso you can get the full experience with the base game, then get the DLC to have more of the same but slightly different.I'd say pick up the DLC after you beat the veteran difficulty or maybe prestige 5 difficulty, by difficulty I mean the respective seals.
They seriously need to add another racial preference slot for each species. Adding 3 new races means you likely only ever get one or maybe two that synergize now
>>2258998I think the commons is meant to balance that. It opened up doing earlier services.
bat dlc is not great, because the bats themselves are awful. i avoid them whenever i can.rest of the game is superb, has the best soundtrack of any game i know
>>2261061Aww. I like the bats visually, shame to hear they suck gameplaywise.
>>2257700Bats actually make it harder because they suck. I didn't like the new maps very much either, they feel a bit too random. One is literally a gacha where you send resources out and get lootboxes in return, then hope there's a good cornerstone inside. Another lets you make your own cornerstone after mining for a bit, you pick one of four conditions and one of four benefits. Except one potential option is a straight-up permanent resolve bonus, so just pick an easily repeatable condition for it and it's a free win. Or you could get four practically useless options.>>2262431Their racial ability is a resolve bonus when other races die or leave. But it loses stacks when bats leave, and they're the hardest to keep happy and can't be favored. Not to mention if you're losing people things are already on the wrong track.
>>2266227I have played those biomes they are part of the Frog expansion. I like the Ashen Thicket but I think the Coastal Grove is a little meh because the expeditions quickly become so expensive I don't bother with them after the first few.
>>2243874based
>>2243874>what if we took a comfy game genre and made it stressfull instead?
>>2266421the problem i have with CG is that it has a tendency to just fuck you on food
>>2290286and the result is the best city builder of this decade. total comfynigger death
