Do you think we’ll see a mod backing the start date to CK2 times and taking the game into a HOI4 timeline? I think with the combining of a lot of the Paradox games’ mechanics into EU5 it could work really well. Just tweak some models, tech,RGOS, and events to reflect the different times in history.
>>2251221no. eu5 combat would suck emulating HOI4 and vice versa.Imperator is very similar to EU5 so its timeline is fine. CK is just too character-focused to translate well into EUV.Right before you get to HOI4 timeline you still have Victorian era which is not portrayed well through the game's systems despite borrowing heavy from it. Battles are just way too quick in comparison and wars are very minimal in EU5.
>>2251221You're getting the Extended Timeline mod
>>2251296I never liked the mod but I can respect the dedication to keeping it updated all these years.
>>2251325>>2251296ET was basically EU4 taken to its logical extreme, a vague historical backdrop of your choosing that falls apart as soon as you unpause, everythign is driven purely by mechanics and minmaxing, the only goal is to paint the map with your favorite country. Dunno how that's gonna work for EU5.
>>2251345>a vague historical backdrop of your choosing that falls apart as soon as you unpause, everythign is driven purely by mechanics and minmaxingbut enough about EU5
>>2251412What’s the problem here chuddy?
>>2251296eu5 doesn't have bookmarks? Oh my Johan, what have we done.
>>2251221>into a HOI4 timelinewhy would you want this when eu5 combat doesnt translate whatsoever into a ww2 setting? the shittiest extended timeline starts were the modern era ones
>>2254610Honestly a good point maybe just ending in a Victoria timeline works better
>>2251221Go past the HoI4 timeline. I want to give all my troops advanced weaponry, I want the space race, I want a race to colonize the stars. Let me start from Neanderthals, conquer the world and then send everyone to live among the stars.>4x4x is boring, I want it on a grand scale. It'll never happen at least not for another 10+ years or so the scope of the game is simply too great but damn it would be cool.
>>2256081How would a neanderthal grand strategy game even work, I guess focus on characters like CK? But instead of gold you'd have to use shiny rocks or something.
>>2251950Nobody played anything else than 1444 anon.
I want to see fuckin anbennar done in eu5
>>2251412>kazan kazan kazan kazanlol
>>2256143Make stuff up for the borders based on what experts are hypothesizing now based on pottery finds
So wih these big historical timeliness mods, do countries do what they're supposed to do over that time?Like will you see Byzantium collapse even though they own a shitload of rich core land?I would love to play something like this even just to see how Europe changes over a thousand years just to learn what was where. Will all the little Russian lands do what they're supposed to do? It's kind of a weird fine line to walk between writing scripts that force things and making (event pops up, these countries merge into one big core nation), vs empowering their economy in other ways to ensure some sort of advantage that makes it happen naturally (if that can be done at all).
>>2285379Well the team is already working on it.
