It's time. The Goddess of Vengeance is getting ready to redress the wrongs of June 4th, 1942. The docks are emptied. The fleet is underway.Thread theme:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7X_Y8W0bkwI
Find the enemy first, strike first, win. This is the battle plan.
Good luck! I hope you win! But your thread theme is super fucking gay. Here is a much better choice:https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=dxaqQBHblyc&list=RDdxaqQBHblyc&start_radio=1&pp=ygUTSG9pNCBqYXBhbmVzZSBtdXNpY6AHAQ%3D%3D
>>2254046Anon. It's Rule the Waves III, not Rule the Lands III or Rule the Air III. It's supposed to be extremely gay. If anything, it's not gay enough.
>>2253657I also recently started a Japan game. I really don't know what I'm doing with shipbuilding though. Mostly using the ship designer then tweaking designs I think are bad. France moved all of their ships to SEAmonkeyland when I wasn't looking and I feel like I'm going to get raped at the end of this turn.
Victory was achieved, and the American fleet turned tail and fled. However, it was not the total victory that the Navy expected. This was the first battle in history where both sides had aircraft carriers, and the Japanese carriers focused on the attack, loaded almost entirely with torpedo bombers Exceptional American damage control saved all of its capital ships but one, American CAP was also surprisingly effective for 1925, and there were hairy moments when American squadrons attacked our carriers and battleships. Thankfully none of them were hit. The threat of blockade is lifted, lessons were learnt and the three year long war will go on.
>>2255508Is surprise attack exclusively a Japan thing? I've done a few so far and they've been devastating. The destroyers start right next to the enemy fleet and are basically in torpedo range already.
>>2255518Yes, it's one of Japan's national traits.
>>2255435If you don't mind Borneo getting invaded, you could retreat to NE Asia where they don't have basing. Do you have BBs?
>>2255540Yeah I have 4 or 5 now. Not playing right now but I'm going to sail my main fleet down there to contest them. I had a battle a few turns ago that utterly wrecked the French fleet they were keeping in Asia. I should be able to beat them. If (when) I get into a battle at the end of the turn I'll flee.
>>2255546There wasn't a confrontation and I did send some reinforcements down there. The French fleet ran away and I had 6 months without much happening. Started an invasion of their NE Chinese colony. After a few months of that they've finally brought a fleet to bear in NE Asia. This will be the first clash of dreadnaughts in the world.
>United Kingdom has joined the war on our sidePoor little Frank boy. Their navy is absolutely embarrassing in my game. How was it IRL in the early 1910s? I had a harder time fighting the Russians (as Japan)
>1910>playing Japan>most of China and the indep. SEAmonkey states have been eating by EuropeI'm starting to sweat a little.
There's a cruiser from 1895 operating as a museum ship in Philadelphia. Going to go check it out to get some design tips. They also have a WWII submarine there too. I need to do some research and see if there's any other early warships around where I am.
>>2267319While there are other ships of that era around, you'd need a good passport and some cash to see them. Georgios Averof in Greece, Aurora in Russia, Mikasa in Japan are the only whole ones, more or less, that exist still as far as I know. RIP USS Oregon, an unknown causality of Pearl Harbor, she made it to 1942, and was already a museum ship before the war. Just a lot of steel in these, and two world wars to use them in.
>>2270606As for in-game. You can get close to Olympia in 1890, though the tonnage system isn't perfect. Say, 7000~ tonnes, 4x-7or8in guns, 10x 5in Guns, 12x 3in Guns, 20 kn and the rest in armor. It would be hard to push 22kn in game, but you should be able to do 20, if not 21kn. It'd be fine as a CL, if you ever land an 8in hit, you'd mess up whatever you're shooting at, but the 5s and 3s would be doing the work against other CLs.
>>2270606>MikasaDamn, I've been to Yokosuka and I had no idea. I didn't even know this was in Philadelphia, I was reading about the museum that operates it because they also have a Balao-class sub there, which is the same class that my grandfather served on.
I’m having problems with menus in the game - pop up menus like the design screen and drop downs, etc. They’re not working properly. I need to minimize the game or otherwise tab out and then tab in to get to the menu. Anyone else have this issue? How to fix?
>>2272364>Anyone else have this issue? How to fix?Yes, Do you use discord? I had the exact same issue and it went away after I turned the discord overlay off.
good shit
>>2270622I used to make Olympias all the time as my first/second gen CLs, they're pretty damn good. Another fun (although less effective) thing you can do is lay down a CL with a single 13" main gun then refit it to a twin 10".
>>2255518Yes, and late game it changes to an aircraft surprise attack, so you better go very heavy on air
>>2253657You know if they made look 20% less like excel they would probably triple their playerbase
>>2286359It's part of the charm, makes it more realistic.
