Does anyone else think that the stress mechanic is kinda broken and ruins the game?

>character is compassionate and ambitious (25% stress gain)
>you do anything against another character, be it fabricate a claim, kill them, declare a war, be mean to them, etc
>you get a mental break every year or so because anything you do you get stress
>eventually you're forced to pick any debuff traits

My ruler got forced to get into a 400 debt because of this, because the game gave me the choice to either pick the profligate or improvident traits. This bullshit ruined my playthrough. Had to delete my saves and create a new one.

Git gud.
>>
>>2256157
Fuck you and your git gud retarded culture.
>>2256156
And to OP, don't choose traits that give you ruler and heirs stress gain. Other than that, it's mostly the RNG fucking with you. Just reload a save if it bothers you so much.
>>
The entire mechanic is there to make the player act like the ruler they’re playing as, instead of as the omnipresent “state” like in the Europa or Victoria games. If you can’t figure out that you’re supposed to adjust your play style and approach when your ruler changes, I don’t know what to tell you. You might be too dumb for this.

I've noticed the money events are not very scaled in Ck3. Like in ck2 usually if you didn't want to take a massive money hit there was another option but in ck3 you could be a small with 1-4 income a month and get a -40 gold from a basic event.
>>
>>2256157
This. What's with the worst mouthbreathing braindead retards and paradox games. Can't get much easier than this buddy.
>>
>>2257095
CK2 and CK3 are role-playing games. Most of the dilemmas are personal, rather than matters of state. Actually painting the map with your preferred color crayon is secondary to your ruler's life story.
If you have a compassionate ruler, you should be building strong relationships at court and building alliances.
An arbitrary one is one that gets to plot and murder people left and right.

NTA but I think that the point OP is trying to make is that some combination of character traits makes the game unplayable, hence their frustration with their ruler constant stress gain. It could be game breaking. If RNG decides to fuck you over and give you an heir with Paranoid, Ambitious and any other trait that gives you stress gain just by trying to play the game, you're fucked and there's nothing you can do about it.
>>
>>2257154
That's far more reasonable. But the game does give you lots of tools to avoid being in that situation or moving from it. And you don't need 90000IQ to use them either.
>>
>>2257154
If that guy's your heir, you force him to take the vows so you get a better heir. Simple.

Potentially never played at all.

Stress is basically a nonfactor. I only ever give a shit about it when I want to spike it so I can kill off my old ruler to get a long time with a young heir

I have never once died of stress since CK3's release

ck3 is genuinely the easiest game paradox ever made. Stress is literally one of the only things stopping you from killing half your children every generation just so you can have the best hereditary traits 70 years in.

I'm past that.
Life has fucked me in the ass hard and deep.
>>
>>2265354
Then I fail to see your problem with CK3 events.
>>
>>2265357
Problem is that the character shouldn't end up in situations given.
>>
>>2265362
Which part of "random event" you don't understand?
You have three factors in this game: your own character's personality, personalities of other characters AND pure RNG base of events. They all interact with each other. And it's perfectly possible to get an RNG event that has fuck-all to do with personality of you or your courtiers, giving you choices that you simply have to deal with.
The actual undercooked part is that a lot of those events are pre-1.5, so they do not include options for either using your base trait nor your stats to overcome them. But that's what you get from the release state having it poorly thought out and each patch is chipping on the pool of the pre-1.5 events.
If PDX wasn't run by morons, they would sit a bunch of interns and shit out an event pack DLC every 9 months, making bank on those.
>>
>>2257095
Straight fucking cope response given the context.
>>
>>2257226
Well it's a pretty shit role playing game then, because there's fuck all to do besides map paint.
>>
medieval kings dying of stress induced heart attacks after suppressing rebellions because they're too nice to attaint or execute treasonous vassals is actually totally historically accurate chud
>>
>>2272920
So which one is it? Overflow of events that "punish" you, or nothing to do but map-paint?
>>
The compassionate trait is horrible and will give you a double mental break for very little in return. Brave could also use another pass, double the dying in battle chance should be called reckless.
>>
>>2256156
The stress mechanic is broken and ruins the game but it's also the only modicum of challenge, removing it would make the game worse.
>>
>>2258571
>filtered
Nigger I've got 600 hours in this game, there is genuinely nothing to git gud at, my 70 year old relatives could have a stroke on the keyboard and they'd still conquer half the map in one lifetime.

Why can’t narcissistic trannies accept that when you play a character in a game you aren’t playing as yourself? Is it because they think they can choose their gender IRL?
>>
>>2257053
>The entire mechanic is there to make the player act like the ruler they’re playing as
No, shit? Goal and execution are different things.
I like the idea, but the execution is just shit, because Stess is exclusively a punishment mechanic.
If you want to encourage players to roleplay, it stands to reason that a carrot mechanic would be effective.
>>
>filtered
>>
>>2272941
George III certainly had stress problems. Wonder how many monarchs in history simply did not record it, and commissioned no portraits of their poor health due to stress. Pre-photograph era sucks. Imagine how many "Lincolns" we missed out.
>>
>>2256156
I think morons like you should stick to phone or facebook games if a concept like repeatedly pick the option marked with all red caps may cause complications or the most basic resource management, complete with retardproof colorcoding confuses you.
