Has dandy mentioned anything about the enemy design in the sequel? As much as I like Troubleshooters it feels a little too much like a horde killing game. Classes like White Knight suck mainly because Barb just cleans up shitter enemies like no one's buisness. Meanwhile all the masteries MK has to be a dueliest archetype kinda just suck unless you are fighting destrons/boss enemies. Fewer, but stronger enemies would be nice to see in the sequel imo.
>>
>>2272074
Some of the spoonists talk went over my head. Spoon in your heart. But also First/Second Spoon. Sometimes it means the leader Sharky as the first and Carter the second (even if there was already at least 1 more Sharky confirmed by John). Sometimes it means the Spoonist group as a whole. Sometimes it's used as an event or subject. Like i had my fill at the First Spoon or something. I hope with Yuri being an MC it will be more clear in BC.

>Fewer, but stronger enemies would be nice to see in the sequel imo.
That's how they've designed the game from DLC1 onwards. But the fact of the matter is that even in endgame PVP teams most people's units aren't much tankier than White Clowns or Fighter Mungos. Once in a while you get a meme tank Irene or something, but they still die to snipers, Black Mages and your own Martial Artists like everything else.

I think it would be neat if there was a way for your characters to learn enemy abilities, sorta like the enemy skill materia in FF7. There are several of them that would be nice to have on your own characters and would allow for a lot build variety. For example teaching Irene more fire mage or physical melee abilities would let her take more roles. Albus could learn more wind magic skills or physical sword skills like dimension slash. Misty could learn Cheche or Mash abilities to take on a water mage role. And Ray could learn more melee abilities for the melee meme build.
I think generally the generic enemy abilities are weaker than your team members' abilities so it wouldn't be a terrible balance issue and would mostly just serve to have more options. It might be hard to implement though if the animations can't be reused since all the main party members have their own unique attack animations.

I found a really cool interaction today
>Cauterize: Remove all debuffs on you at the expense of 5 SP per 1 debuff
Normally it can kick you out of Overcharge if it triggers while you're at max SP, but if you have Rearrangement it'll clear your debuffs and you'll still be in Overcharge.
I was mostly just running Rearrangement so Phoenix wouldn't be at risk of failing to trigger on the turn after her overcharge ends, but this is a cool thing I'd never considered.

They said some time in early 2026 was when they intended to open early access, but that was a while ago and projects like these tend to suffer delays.
But at the very least they do have 3d models of some NPCs and enemies (from February this year) and they did show gifs of some of the new movement animations (June) so they have some barebones gameplay finished, if nothing else. The most time consuming part of development is probably making a bunch of new assets and maps in the new artstyle.

They also had this image in one of their dev diaries when discussing concept art and the artstyle. I don't know if this is anything they made or if it's just an image they nabbed to give an example of what they want to do.
I've tried reverse image search and there's nothing that looks like an exact match but the AI overview said that one of the images has stuff from an 3D asset pack, the others are supposedly screenshots of other games. I don't think these are actual Banished Children maps though since they don't seem to conform to a tile grid.
It would be a bit disappointing if the environments were typical unreal engine stuff, but if all this was made by Dandylion half a year ago then they're probably quite far along in development.

>>
>>2273500
I'm pretty sure the reason they made such a big deal over Black Tiger in 60S is because Albus is going to disband the company and Black Tiger will take their place. That'll keep them out of the current news, and they can easily avoid naming it directly if speaking about it in the past.

punishment is such a bad mastery for how expensive it is. Imo it should've had a mastery set where berserker triggers alongside punishment so characters could reposition to punish the attacker or something. Kinda like a budget version of anger strike that triggers on allies being hit.
>>
>>2273668
That's a pretty cool idea for a set. Something like
>Punishment + Berserker + Fellowship + Survival Training?
>If an ally is attacked by an enemy that's within the range of Berserker's activation, approach the enemy and trigger Punishment
In the current state of the game Punishment is still a pretty decent mastery though. If you sit next to an ally like a Battlemage you'll often trigger it against melee enemies, and you can also use it to repeatedly fuck up any enemy that has counterattacks.

Well I faced post-nerf Destrons for the first time
>Weiss and Blut are overnerfed, they're absolute jokes now, especially Weiss because the fuel nerf means it got about 4 turns of actions before depleting its reserves, and both of them are weaker than the unique Human enemies on the map
>Schwarz is still assrape incorporated at this point in the game, I felt no discernible difference between pre-nerf and post-nerf. It's still dodgy as fuck, it's still tricky to get a high enough hit to get around Special Armour, it still rapes your squishies in 1 hit and your medium strength units in 2, it still eats responsive attacks like candy
If the goal of these changes were to help people get through the campaign easier, they probably did the job, but if the goal was to make violent cases less of a wall then I don't think the nerfs went far enough for the upper tier Destrons.
Also, Remodelled Bicrons are a complete joke at this point, not worth hacking or even prioritising. Their turns are so slow and they do so little damage that they're just there for drops/exp.

Wait. So having less sight stat than your attack range actually makes the attack range shorter too? Like Giselle with Gunbarrel Reinforcement has 15 attack range on snipe. But if i am not using Reinforcing Scope as her Individual mastery her sight range is 13. So even if there is someone that can act as a "spotter" for her further down she can't shoot targets more than 13 units away?

I felt something was fucky with her range but i couldn't put my finger on it. I was happily using Season Hunter for that sweet Flare utility thinking i don't need that extra sight range. The frontline will give me vision anyway.
>>
>>2273896
>So even if there is someone that can act as a "spotter" for her further down she can't shoot targets more than 13 units away?
Yep. You either need Reinforcing Scope or some other source of sight increase to get her full range.

Full cleared this crap on the first try this time around with bonus ass raping from HRHR activated. While something must have been nerfed since the last time i played this 2 years ago because the Mungos themselves felt less aids. The Mungo King working on XCOM Alien Rulers logic is still an absolute dogshit idea. Still a no fun allowed mission but managable. Even with hamstringing myself with WK Alisa.
>>
>>2275157
Its only nerfs were a week or two after it came out, where they reduced Mimicking Evasion/Attack from 5 to 3 stacks and removed Luck from the gunners. It's probably just the difference that comes from knowing how to play.
>>
>>2275157
>While something must have been nerfed since the last time i played this 2 years ago because the Mungos themselves felt less aids.
The difficulty of the mission is pretty heavy RNG imo. Sometimes everything just goes right and other times you just get the worst luck imaginable and lose half the team. Also could just be a setup thing where you have way more reaction attacks during enemy turns which cucks their evasion gimmick.
>The Mungo King working on XCOM Alien Rulers logic is still an absolute dogshit idea.
He really is just the most annoying fucking enemy in the game. I think he would be infinitely more tolerable if his gimmick didn't trigger on single actions and instead only on seeing people end their turn in his LoS. With how he is now any ability that requires a character to be standing near him is complete RNG on if he will spazz out and target the person you just moved next to him or if he will randomly run over to a different character.

I don't mind Mungo King. Line of sight management is fun, his tankiness is high enough that he doesn't fold instantly except to a handful of specialised builds, and he's a rare boss in this game that changes how the entire map is played when he shows up. He's also truly optional with no unique masteries, a meme of an accessory, a mediocre weapon and only appears on Hard or higher in an endgame violent case where all the other bosses except him spawn on Normal.
>>
>>2275448
he also spawns in a story mission where you start with only two characters on the map
but yeah, i appreciate how he makes me actually think about the next moves instead of just

Does Spirit actually exist in the lore or is it just a gameplay abstraction to make non-ESP users balanced with ESP users?
If so, what exactly is it? A lot of the spirit masteries names/descriptions seem to be relating to psychological things like emotions, mental states, or traits, but some also make references to qi/chi.
Do people unlock spirit powers just through training or having lived through certain experiences? Could humans use the same darkness/gravity powers that some spirit beasts have?

I hope they have a somewhat more laid out power scaling plan for Banished Children. The later parts of the main game is where builds reach critical mass and storywise it's fine having peak levels of power. But the DLCs start to break the game somewhat. The HP of any character not full invested in defense is almost binary for example.
I wouldn't mind if they didn't go for DLC's at all in BC and would just go for the next episode/game.

Timas look pretty badass IMO

>>2277944
They have the opportunity to rework several systems and stat scaling when making a new game from the ground up so it's possible they'll fix what made the DLCs so imbalanced. It's a pretty common complaint in reviews and on the steam forums so Dandy is aware of the problem at the very least. I personally don't mind the difficulty for late-game violent cases but it's unfair to make the main story missions that punishing for casual players. No DLC and the base game having all the content would be best though I understand why Dandylion couldn't do that unless they magically made enough money to cover all future development costs.
>>
>>2277944
>The HP of any character not full invested in defense is almost binary for example.
I could probably write a 2000 word essay on how fucked the state of defences are in the lategame.
>offence is strong enough that most units die to a breeze
>your standard defences - armour, block and dodge - become increasingly useless as the game progresses
>yet it remains possible to counterbuild against specific enemies so that a handful of your units take 1 damage max of their 4000 HP while everyone else gets 2-shot.
Defences being overpowered isn't even a lategame-only issue. Physical Resistance 3 is such a godmode cheat for the base game that I was running Phys Res 2 for this playthrough and my units were still durable as fuck. If Dandylion are looking to solve these issues, I don't envy them.
>>

>>

>>2280674
I'm also done with DLC1 but been putting it off a bit because of burnout. It's that point in the game where I actually have to start grinding for on-level gear and masteries to make actual builds instead of breezing through everything on hard with whatever random drops I got. Might just turn down the difficulty to the easiest to get through the rest of the main story.
I don't really care about having an optimal end-game build for the tournament anyways, I already plan to run a meme build on Irene when the time comes and it would give me an excuse/cope if I keep losing.

Thanks for keeping in touch. As >>2280674 said, 4 other anons are confirmed ready. I'll set a soft deadline until Christmas for now, if that's alright with everyone else. That should be plenty of time to deliver any finishing touches you may want. After that, we'll start getting set on concrete dates and times, so that we can play during or after the upcoming holiday season, where most people will have some time to spare.

My theory is that Lily isn't his biological aunt and she adopted him as part of her glowie scheme. I don't think there's anything indicating she was related to Albus's parents or if they even knew each other.

This isn't as stupid as it seems, if you assume she's based off Snow White. From a fairy tale collection I happen to own: "...a little daughter was born to her, with a skin as white as snow, lips and cheeks as red as blood, and hair as black as ebony." Now look at Bianca in pic related. Sure her lips aren't red, but the overall color scheme and description work.

Here's the code for autohits and how Wild Cat, Luck and Mirage get around them.
tl;dr
>game checks whether dodging is enabled on every attack
>healing and abilities with Unavoidable automatically disable dodging and exit early (so nothing below it matters)
>then it checks for Luck on the attacker and disables dodging and exits early again
>if the defender has Luck and the incoming attack has autohit (from something like Final Blow), Luck procs, it enables dodging and exits early
>at this point if there's a mastery in the attacker that makes their attacks unavoidable (eg Final Blow), it tentatively sets ignoreDodge to true and continues
>if you have Wild Cat, ignoreDodge gets overridden to false
>if you have Mirage and it's a shooting ("force"), throw or fall attack, ignoreDodge gets overridden to false
>at this point it checks if ignoreDodge is true and exits early if it is
>next it checks the defender for things that might otherwise affect dodging, it's a big function elsewhere in the code that handles things like Lightning Reflexes
>finally it checks for Luck on the defender, which is the last line of defence against autohits

I think he knows, but Albus just isn't the kind of guy to open up about that stuff. Seems like he took Don's advice about not mixing private and public affairs. Sion also doesn't really talk about that stuff since he doesn't seem like the type of guy to dwell on things that upset him.
Giselle and a few others in his company knew about Misty's larceny charges because they read her file, so I would imagine most troubleshooters have some sort of documentation on their history. Albus probably did background checks on everyone, maybe had a couple "oh shit" moments himself and started piecing things together, but didn't bring it up with anyone.

I think you found a genuine bug. Probably some funky interaction resulting from Kylie not being in range of his attack, but Albus is, so it thinks Kylie is a legitimate target and never gets to the "deal damage to yourself" part of the code.
Dandy would probably fix it if reported
>>
>>2284035
Probably, the game didn't know how to respond and Hiawatha survived another additional turn afterwards despite receiving Bleed damage.
My guess would be that it's related to Hiawatha receiving damage from multiple aggressors that would cause Last Ditch Effort, but similar interactions happen to Berserker builds without any problems.

Alchemist Ray seems like a half done class. Maybe it's just because her potion healer gimmick is not that useful. A lot of time if you fuck up the character is dead anyway or it can be managed by Anne solo healing. I guess i never really tried Ray being an overcharge giver bot, it's probably good. But if Ray got her own small game system in the base for mixing potions with different effects with some wild results she could be more fun.

With an Overcharge ability that makes a gas version of that potion/poison she is carrying in her alchemist satchel applying the effect to everyone in the area.
>>
>>2284874
Alchemist is for status potions, not healing. She's got a mastery set that makes the side effects always apply, so you can give people Turning Over A New Leaf potions and other broken effects. She also has a mastery set that gives random buffs to people that she removes status ailments from with First Aid, so you can chuck healing mist at a group, cleanse them all and buff them up.

Alchemist can be pretty good offensively if you can time chemical concoction and the upgraded shaking shot. Some of the scholar mastery sets are nice too, but they might be a bit wasted on Ray. Grenadier Ray is just too good though.
I hope Dandy makes support classes better in BC, even White Mage Anne feels pretty bad at times and it's better to just build status immunity and healing or tankiness on your other units. Kylie is the one supportive character that is pretty strong and it's because she does a lot more than just healing or debuffs and has pretty good AT and AP economy.

I felt like a retard when trying to get all the CGs for DLC1 because I didn't know you actually had to put Roberto out of action during Irene's exam. At first I thought it came from beating the stage against all possible examiners for some reason so I tried that, then when I never saw the cutscene I still ended up redoing the mission against Roberto and Maximilian multiple times just destroying the jammers wondering why it still wasn't unlocked, then finally I actually tried fighting the examiners and finally got it. Those are some good CGs too so I felt even more retarded for missing out on them.

My rant was exactly after i spent an hour or so trying to do the "stay alive till reinforcements come" achievement on the Irene/Leton mission. Since i am stubborn retard i was hellbent on doing it on C/C HRHR. I had to carefully balance AT stalling/freezing this hairy bastard without killing him. But this fucker on one try i shit you not procced luck 3 turns in a row. Not even Draki's Noble Scale could outcheese him that time.

Irene was a Forestallment/Counterattack Martial Autist. Problem was she killed the Mungo King in close range combat. Kylie is a special case because Attack Protocol itself doesn't have a damage type, only its sub-protocol thingies do, so it doesn't go on cooldown when rangers fuck with her and she can still use the ESP commands. It's a typeless attack that does ESP damage, if that makes sense.

Here's what actual ESP attacks look like. The important part to determine whether it gets silenced or put on cooldown is "Damage type: Fire" up top. ESP utility skills like Wind Veil have a "Used Type" instead.

Steal specced Misty with "The Expert" is kind of fun. Probably not optimal but it's fun. I wish there was a Superstar/Dancer with this stealing gimmick. Constantly resupplying consumables with 0 action time use.
