Hello, im looking games like SC2 Coop, where there is general race, but there are sub factions that significantly change up how that race is being played (like how Raynor plays differently compared to Nova or Megsk)I know that DoW 2/3 and CnC Generals in which, you pick commander and that commander gives you different general powers
>>2277819age of mythology?
>>2277932ISIS all day and nightEat shit, I have fucking goooold nigger ahahahahahhahaha
aoe4 has been doing this as a cheap way to sell full price DLC for half-effort factions
>>2278139Zero effort factions have been a staple of AoE since forever.
>>2277819Sins of Solar Empire. Some classify it as 4X, I think of it as slow RTS
Company of Heroes - doctrine treesWarrior Kings: Battles - a generic faction with five tech routes, including two combo onesRed Alert 2 - different Allied/Soviet countries with special units/abilitiesZero-K - different factory picks let you build a 'faction' for your whole team
>>2277819That's meant to be one of the key features of Zerospace. Now it just has to actually get released.
CnC 3 Kane's Wrath has 3 subfactions for every of 3 existing factions.
>>2277819Total Warhammer has factions within race that can change how race plays completely or even have some exclusive units and/or mechanics.
>>2277819AoE2 has one race with like 50 factions that play very similar to each other lol
Halo Wars. A lot of people will say HW1 is better but I disagree, also HW2 goes a lot harder on the sub factions you are looking for.
>>2277973I like having sex with attractive women too
>>2279012Nobody on this board is having sex with women or any sex at all
>>2279292lollmao Imagine playing RTS and NOT having sexWhat a fucking loser
>>2277819Dawn of War 1 kinda have this but it's only for the Tau (high-tech vs biological). In the same vein Mark of Chaos where you can choose between Chaks undivided, Nurgle or Khorne.
>>2277819Halo WarsCoH (commanders can substantially change your troop and abilities)
>>2277932>>2278530AoE and its derivatives have very minor differences between factions. >>2278415yes, SoSE has factions thats are split into 2 different factions, for example TEC loyalists and TEC renegades. loyalists are more defensive focused while TEC defectors are way more aggressive playstyle.>>2278430thanks>>2278449never heard of it, thanks, ill check it up.>>2278476isn't basically same system as in Generals Zero hour? >>2278526I totally forgot this, thanks. im waiting out till they finish up development on TWW3 >>2278705>>2282164thanks. i played Halo wars 1 and it was cool. i tried halo wars 2 but could not activate that game via Microsoft store so that's lame. >>2279889those are great games but not something that i want.
>>2285323each god plays different though and then every time you advance an age you have to also choose between different godsit's the "subfactions" op asked for
>>2285536Each god offers a couple of different research techs, a new unit a new ability, but none changes the basic faction mechanics, the Norse still needs Ox Carts, the Egyptians still gain favour by building monuments and so on.Also shame that SC2 stopped selling those cosmetics, was really looking foward for a complete mechanized Terran skin, with robotic Marines and all.
>>2285323>AoE and its derivatives have very minor differences between factions.saying this about age of mythology is quite literally statements dreamed up by the utterly deranged tier
>>2286662AoM has big asymmetry between factions, ill give you that. but as >>2286403, "subfaction" difference within faction as a whole is very light. and regarding AoE and SWGB, there are a lot of factions that have, again, small differences between them, nothing too fancy compared to SC coop
