this game is peak comfy but I can't win on Hard unless I'm playing Haven. Am I just bad? Let this serve as the heroes of might & magic thread
>>2294571Meh. You probably need to experiment and get used to different spells.
>>2294571>Am I just bad?yeah
>>2294571great game. close second after heroes 3. however the graphics have aged like utter shit. it looks so washed out now...
>>2294571>Am I just bad?Yeah, pretty much. Learn to use faction perks, download skillwheel and experiment with combining skills, learn to use magic properly, put more consideration to alternative upgrades and their situational usefulness.
>>2294571You should be playing 5.5, so the PC doesn't take 1 hour moving around.
>>2294571>this game is peak comfyZoomers and their retarded opinions>Am I just bad?Very. This is THE easiest of all HoMM games that has any lasting playerbase.
Is campaign worth playing?
>>2305692>Is campaign worth playing? What's the point of playing Heroes if you don't wanna play the campaigns? Sure, the story is kinda shit and the characters can be very obnoxious at times, but it's not bad enough for you not to try it at least. Also, there's like a dozen singleplayer/multiplayer maps at most in the vanilla game + expansions, so you really limit yourself by skipping the campaign. However, you can always download some more from the maps4heroes site:>https://www.maps4heroes.com/heroes5/maps.php
>>2305816Cheers. Most people skip the campaign and almost exclusively play skirmish maps in HoMM 3 and 4 from what I see, and that's why I asked
>>2305819>Most people skip the campaign and almost exclusively play skirmish maps in HoMM 3 and 4Really? Any stats to back it up? To be clear, this is not confrontational: I just can't imagine anyone playing any of the HoMM games without ever trying out the campaigns at least. In fact, most of the starting missions in any of the HoMM campaigns I've played function as extended tutorials or as introductions to a particular faction.
>>2305830Nah no stats, just anectodal evidence based on my friends. But they are mostly retarded when it comes to games so it checks out
>>2305830For both RTS and HoMM type games I rarely care much about campaigns. I played a lot of HoMM5 when it came out so eventually I tried out the campaign but it wasn't where I started. Another example is Age of Wonders 3 where I have 400+ hours and only barely tried the campaigns but never got far because I got bored of them really fast. The regular skirmish mode or whatever the developers decide to call it often feels like the way the game was designed to be played.
>>2305630>5.5Retarded garbage.
>>2305863>Another example is Age of Wonders 3 where I have 400+ hours and only barely tried the campaigns but never got far because I got bored of them really fastFair enough. I personally like AoW3's campaigns because you get to turn your hero into an unstoppable juggernaut with appropriate skills and artifacts you acquired during the journey. One of my expansion heroes, a Frostling Necromancer, had almost complete immunity to all forms of damage (something like 60% reduction in elemental damage thanks to a random artifact) and had a shield and an additional artifact that pushed his physical damage resistance to 100%. Add in the life steal attack, and the ability to retaliate infinitely (both of which were also gained through artifacts), and I could solo entire elite armies with him.
>>2294571where can i find people to play this in multiplayer?in 1.0Wanna arrange a gamenight?
