WE SO BACKhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yYwSBQ1cebg
>>2301211Doesn't look too bad. Never thought Stormgate was that bad of a game. I guess I'll give it another go but I still ain't expecting much.
>>2301211THIS CHANGES EVERYTHINGWE ARE SAVEDI CAN'T BELIEVE THAT OUR GUY TIM DID IT
>>2301211I'm impressed that this is still being worked on, I don't think that anything can save it but I had some nice games in it so I hope them the best.
>>2301211>symmetrical map slopDoAit's nice they're throwing a last hail mary and making the zerg faction look like the zerg but it won't work
>>2301211Yeah i don't think so, wake me when they release a video of investors drilling Morten's knees and asking where's money
>>2301211>The community patchGiven the blatant disregard for the opinions of the community this feels like a thinly veiled jab.Sadly the only thing that looks interesting is 2v2 but they're immediately dropped the ball by making it ranked. The matchmaker is going to struggle to balance players because of the low player count meaning long delays while the mm is "searching for players" or imbalanced matches. It would make far more sense to have open lobbies, but mortens gotta espurt I guess.
>>2301594>4456 peakDamn, how did the hype for this game die so hard? I knew that people were disappointed but I didn't know it was this bad
>>2301594>investors drilling Morten's knees and asking where's moneysorry guys, we couldn't work on stormgate today. We had our weekly hike! Paid company time, too! After all, it's very important to include teambuilding exercises in your indie studio!
>>2301594>where's moneyYou don't understand. We needed the Super Caffeine Blaster Starbucks Gazebo rented out by the hour for our outdoor company logo design session! What color should we paint our indoor climbing wall?
>>2301772>In house climbing wall>Paid company hikes>And not a single healthy BMI in sight...What were they even doing? There's no way they were sat at computers working as evidenced by the product they flopped.
literally none of them did programming
>>2301772Why are they still wearing masks?
>>2301211Nevergaters, our response?
>>2301845
>>2301823>Why masks? For woke-PR purpsoes.Notice how two of them are not even wearing them correctly and there's two in the background who aren't wearing them. You can't even defend this shit, the ones in the foreground would have noticed if they were wearing them for an exended duration, and if we play bs and claim "I can't breathe" for the ones in the background what are they even doing there - unless the photo is again for pr and taken just out of sight of the carpark. What's sad is how this kinda of shallow attention to detail carried across to Stormgate itself.
Will it be a cautionary tale to paypigs or will they still flock to any grifters to burn through their money?
I want my money back
>>2301211Too little too late.
>>2301594
>>2302949Your feeling of helplessness is your best friend, savage
>>2301376>>2301318>>2301245>Thread made>3 positive comments nearly 30 minutes evenly spaced apart to maintain "organic" conversationTim must be emptying his pockets for the ten rupees this cost
>>2301211Not a fan of SC2 style games, but these new units are a lot more appealing than the slop the game had when it launched.
>>2303019it went from 12 to 50 daily average. Almost 5x increase looks great on paper
So is this StarCraft 3 without the oficial license, or is it WarCraft 4 without the oficial license?
>>2304663Yes.This is starwarscraft at home.
>>2303578I would barely call my comment positive but ok.
>>2301211All I see is cope desu. I thought it was dead
>>2303578I don't think it's a bad game. I think it's very fun to play. I think this is the actual next step in RTS. I love how smooth and responsive everything is. I like the simplicity and flow of hot keys. I think from a pure gameplay point it's fantastic. But holy shit is the world bland. It plays fine, but it looks like dog shit. Everything about the game is just boring and uninspired. None of the units really feel like they have any weight to them. Everyone feels like they don't have any personality. It's not a visually fun game to watch and given how they where inspired by marvel movies it's no surprise it never held anyone's attention.
>>2306125>I love how smooth and responsive everything isHave they fixed the game not registering inputs?
>>2303019Good quote, good taste
>>2306125Anything that has even the smallest, most tangential connection to Blizzard ends up that way these days. Very much sticking to safe and stale.
artstyle looks homosexual
>>2306389The power of your intellect.
>>2306514Those are actually insane numbers because most people don't even play it on Steam.
>>2306514>>2306577The power to overwhelm and destroy
>let's make an RTS with zero white males in it
>>2306125That is my response after playing it before release. Everything controlled fine, but everything about the aesthetic sucked. The maps were just random set pieces with absolutely no environmental storytelling or distinctive feel to them. Wow a generic tropical desert / beach? With medievaly ruins? What does that have to do with not-Terrans fighting the Burning Legion or whatever they call their knockoffs? Couldn't you have come up with a better map to showcase the game? Then you have the units. Everything you said is correct. There is no weight to anything, and everything is too clean and shiny, plastic looking. Especially the demons. Holy fuck do the demons look lame. It's like if you wanted to make demons that would be safe to show to 10 year olds, designed by people whose only reference for demons was Halloween costumes for babies.
>>2306432It looks like it was designed by people who've only ever made mobile games for women.
>>2306145Its so responsive its smooth when the game registers the input, moron. God, tone down key sensitivity so people can slam there face into the board without ruining their game and all you get is critics instead of a "thank you"
>>2309418what i hated about planetary annihilation, plastic look and floaty movement, i get modern rts wants pathfinding to be reliable but units should collide sometimes instead of jiggling through each other
>>2307822yet you love total annihilation. curious.
>>2306125you know, i'm actually on board with saying that the game failed primarily due to poor art direction
>>2310695the TA commanders are white obviously
>>2310660I don't mind PA style given that half the appeal, and the general lore of PA is that they are souless mass produced robots ment for war. I actually like it for some units since "function ovee form" has it's moments as well. Stormgate doesn't have that excuse though. Just look at the original worker bots for the not terran. They really thought those fuckers looked cute and iconic.
>>2309420>It looks like it was designed by people who've only ever made mobile games for women.Gotta get that DEI government grant... 40million dollars isn't enough for a small studio to fund an indie game in this day and age didn't mortems post-mortens teach you anything?
>>2312547globohomo style, no white people for ESG shekels, no skeletons or occult stuff to avoid chinese censors
>>2306125>next step>look inside>its starcraft/warcraft againI feel like every 8 months a new major RTS game comes out that's basically a souless (if I may speak gay retardese) version of a game that already exists. CnC has tempest rising and 8/9 bit armies, supcom has planetary annihilation, industrial annihilation, arguably BAR, etc. None of them succeed (again possibly excepting BAR) because they're basically just the same game you already own but with a lower budget and a worse art style. If there is a next step in the RTS genre, it will be a game that understands what made these games good but mostly uses them as lessons to form an enjoyable original experience, not just "X but this time with Y". I do not know if>>2301772>>2301773these people are capable of such a thing, I think they are too blinded by their 'member berry flavored craft beer to do so. They will try to compete with a game everyone already owns that was made by Blizzard when they were at their zenith, and they will fail, probably multiple times, before the juden come a knocking to collect what they are owed and they are spirited away to a work camp to mine lithium in a rocky pit for all time.
>>2301211lol. dead game. anyone who gave money to those freaks deserved to get scammed.
>>2319081Dude, one of their top guys draw maps for the Warcraft 3 campaigns. And another was the product manager of one of the expansions for Starcraft 2. How couldn't you be swayed bu such amazing credentials?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bKlssrXpIg0it's officially over
>>2301211>WE SO BACKYou were never 'there'.
>>2319973>gets paid to shill for Stormgate>claims SC2 is dead>then makes this video and holds back nothing.I guess I slightly respect him again.
>>2321277It's damage control stemming from a of integrity and if anything speaks to a further lack of integrity. If we go best case and assume his initial review was honest (we all know it wasn't) and continued to 'believe' failgate was a great game he could at least claim he was being honest. But now that the game is in an alpha-release and he's seen the public turn on it, he's just trying to save face and pretend to be one of the cool kids.Ironically, if you listen to what he says, he sounds like mortems linkedins in his thought train, at this point I wouldn't be surprised to find mortems was shtuping his mom over the dinner table.
A wasted opportunity to do something creative instead of generic SC slop.
why is it so hard for people to copy what made warcraft 3 so successful and just give it a modern skin and engine?
>>2324697these "people" don't even know what made warcraft 3 successful, that's the entire reason for stormgate flopping on its ass
>>2324697>just copy wc3 bro!no, you don't make a successful game by creating a soulless copyEveryone would continue to play wc3. You need new ideas
>>2324697Thinking like that is what gets you Stormgate.
Looks like it's not the first time Mister Stormgate has fucked up. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=itfJX4lRj4I
>>2324697WC3 was made by people who wanted to merge their DND rpg session fantasy with their actual RTS franchise, focusing on maximum polish and playability. If anyone goes to 'copy' warcraft3 it will be because they're creatively bankrupt (stormgate)
